In the fall of 2022, Pomfret publicly launched Amplify: The Campaign for Pomfret School, with the ambitious goal of raising $80 million to build a new science center, advance teaching and learning, and expand access and affordability, all while strengthening the Pomfret Fund.

In an extraordinary outpouring of generosity, Pomfret alumni, families, faculty, staff, and friends joined together at every level and in every way to raise more than $82.5 million in support of Pomfret students and faculty. Through this campaign, we constructed a state-of-the-art science facility, boosted faculty compensation and professional development, increased financial aid, invested in new ideas, and supported the health and wellness of our students.

POMFRET FUND

The single most impactful way you can make a difference.

The Pomfret Fund was the cornerstone of our Amplify campaign, delivering flexible, immediate-use resources to our annual budget. Your gifts supported some of our highest priorities, including financial aid for students, salaries and professional development for faculty, and activities for students. Unrestricted funding allowed the School to take advantage of emerging opportunities and respond to unanticipated needs.

VISTA At long last, Pomfret science has a home worthy of its vision.

Opening its doors in the fall of 2024, VISTA represents the largest capital investment in school history. Pomfret’s new state-of-the-art, 22,000 square foot, three-story facility houses classrooms, labs, and community gathering spaces, nearly doubling the amount of dedicated science and engineering space for Pomfret students.

ACCESS AND AFFORDABILITY

It’s what we do together that sets us apart.

With more than $9 million raised, Pomfret’s financial aid budget has increased by 39 percent during the Amplify campaign, enabling the School to enroll exceptional applicants regardless of their families’ financial circumstances. During Amplify, we also established a fund to help students cover out-of-pocket expenses and a fund to support Pomfret-sponsored travel programs.

TEACHING AND LEARNING Great schools are made by great faculty.

Thanks to increased endowment support, the faculty professional development budget increased sixfold, and Pomfret was able to recruit, retain, and support educators who inspire, challenge, and shape our students every day — investing meaningfully in their compensation and continued growth. At the same time, the establishment of the Grauer Family Institute for Excellence and Innovation in Education has elevated Pomfret’s standing as a leader in secondary education.
