Winter Arts Festival — Performing Arts Concert hursday, December 9, 2021 T 7:00 PM | MEMORIAL CHAPEL

A Note from the Performing Arts Department It is hard to believe that it has been two years since we last gathered together as a community to celebrate our student musicians. While we continue to live with the ongoing pandemic and are just beginning to understand how the past two years have affected us all, this concert feels like a big step in moving us toward a post-pandemic world. It has been such a joy to hear our students making music together again, and, for me, at least, it has been more restorative and healing than I could have imagined. I hope you enjoy our performances tonight and that you, too, feel restored by the magic of community music-making. Daniel Doughty Director of Music

A Note About Our Rehearsal Process and Safety Protocols, and Guidelines for Tonight’s Concert: Due to the current health and safety protocols, we made several adjustments to our rehearsal process outlined below. These protocols were developed with Sarah Zuercher, Director of Health and Well-being and COVID Safety Coordinator: For rehearsals: Vaccinated students were allowed to sing and play masked while maintaining a 3-foot distance. Special masks and bell covers were used on all wind instruments. For tonight’s concert: All students were tested before the concert and given the option of performing without a mask.
