Top of the Tower Tour

HONOR, SACRIFICE & HEROISM

Arizona Memorial

At the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, view the wayside memorials and exhibits and learn about one of the most pivotal moments in US history: the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the subsequent entry of the United States into World War II.

Witness actual film footage of the attack, view gripping displays describing the tragedy and heroism of this era and leave Pearl Harbor with an increased

appreciation for our nation’s women and men in uniform. Travel aboard a US Navy vessel to the Arizona Memorial which was designed by the architectural team to be situated directly above the actual USS Arizona battleship without resting on the sunken ship.

The ship is the final resting place of many of the 1,177 officers and crewmen who were lost during the attack.

Battleship Missouri

No two ships are more emblematic of America’s involvement in WWII than the USS Arizona and the USS Missouri. The attack on the Arizona thrust the United States into war, and four years later the instruments of surrender ending the war were signed on the deck of the Missouri.

Learn firsthand of the thrilling history of the Missouri from first-hand accounts of

the brave crews who manned them. Walk in the footsteps of General Douglas MacArthur, Admiral Chester Nimitz, and officers of the Allied Powers in 1945 when the instruments of surrender were signed on the ship, signaling the end of WWII.

“Mighty Mo” valiantly fought in WWII, the Korean War and in Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf; supporting the cause of freedom.

PEARL HARBOR'S AVENGER

Bowfin Submarine & Museum

Also known as the “Pearl Harbor Avenger”, played an epic role in the battles of the Pacific. You’ll walk through the remarkable vessel docked in the harbor. Board the Bowfin Submarine to

see first-hand what life in close quarters was like and stroll around the Bowfin campus where restored relics and displays abound.

(Left) The Japanese “Kaiten” which carried a single pilot in a Type 93 “Long Lance” Torpedo. There was no escape hatch in the sub which is why the “Kaiten” is known as the “suicide sub.”

(Right) The Waterfront Memorial is dedicated to the 52 submarines and more than 3,500 submariners who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II. The 52 monuments list the names the lost submariners who are “on eternal patrol.”

HISTORY TAKES FLIGHT

Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum

Your Pacific Aviation Museum experience begins in Hangar 37 that survived the December 7, 1941 attack.

tic Japanese Zero, F4F Wildcat and the Stearman in which President George H.W. Bush soloed are on display.
