Poko Story & Purpose Poko Co-Founders Case and Jessie

Pokoloko /Poe-Koe-Loe-Koe/ adj. Pokoloko comes from the Spanish phrase poco loco meaning “a little bit crazy.” This is what our Ecuadorian makers used to call co-founders Case and Jessie at the very beginning of their relationship, when Pokoloko was just Case and Jessie working out of the back of Case’s old Volkswagen Jetta in 2014. Indeed it did sometimes seem like a little bit of a crazy thing to do, but a drive for travel and a way to give back made it all worthwhile. As Poko evolved, the central meaning of this phrase has stuck with us and reminds us every day to think outside the box, trust your gut, do what you love, and never stop adventuring. We call this the road less traveled. Today, we are a group of friends based out of the Canadian Ottawa-Gatineau region, with the Poko Showroom as our home base, in our much-loved neighbourhood of Hull, Quebec. We work with over 100 artisan entrepreneurs on 4 continents in 8 countries, and a community of incredible boutiques across North America. Knowing that our consumption creates impact, purpose, and power, we design Poko’s products to act in service of our communities and environments. These are just some of the milestones we were able to reach as a result of your support, and in collaboration with our climate action partner Ecologi.

Crinkle Apparel OEKO-TEX Certified All Crinkle Cotton garments in this catalog are OEKO-TEX certified. The OEKO-TEX certification is one of the world’s bestknown labels for textiles tested for harmful substances to human health. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety. One-Sized All Crinkle Cotton garments in this catalog are one-sized, which means they are designed to fit many body types, but will not fit all. Generally they will fit S, M, and L sizes.

Low Waste Packaging Each of the Crinkle Cotton garments comes packaged in a pure Turkish cotton reusable bag, big enough for storage, dresses, shoes, groceries, etc. In 2024, we will be evolving this packaging to 100% biodegradable plastic packaging, that disappears in nature within 24-36 months.

Crinkle Cotton All garments in Poko’s Crinkle Collection are designed with a breathable, lightweight, pure Turkish cotton, Crinkle fabric. Made with a special weaving technique creating a unique appearance with enhanced softness, the breathable nature of this fabric stabilizes your body temperature, as it allows air and moisture to circulate while maintaining the body’s climatic balance. Prewashed to avoid shrinkage problems. Garment Dyeing The colored pieces of Crinkle Cotton are garment dyed. In comparison to dyed fabrics, garment dyeing is both a functional and sustainable production technique. Garment dyed means the garment has been cut and sewn into shape, and then dyed. Garment dyeing requires 3-4 finishing processes to complete versus the 6-7 finishing processes for more standard yarn/ fabric dyeing, uses 7 litres less water per 1 kg of product, and 20 times less water. 6

Poko Terms and Policies Orders

Overdue Accounts

Returns and Claims

Minimum first order $250.00. Reorder is $200.00. Should you wish to make any changes to your order please contact us by phone or email as soon as possible from the time the order was made.

Accounts more than 60 days past due will have Terms removed, and will be required to make immediate payment. Accounts that remain outstanding past 60 days may be subject to a collections agency or further action. Overdue accounts will be charged a 2% per month interest or 24% per year.

All claims and damages must be submitted with photos and emailed to Pokoloko within 14 days of receipt of the corresponding order. All returned items must be shipped back to Pokoloko within 30 days, with the customer responsible for the return shipping costs. Returns are subject to approval by Pokoloko and must be received in sellable condition.

First Time American Customers In order to process any order to the USA, we must have a tax ID number for the customer at the time of order. Customs requires us to provide a tax ID number for each shipment we send from Canada to the USA.

A 20% restocking fee will be applied to the returned product(s). If you have concerns regarding the quality of any Poko products, and/or any damages, errors, or other types of concerns, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order - we are here to ensure you have an amazing experience!

All orders are shipped FOB from our warehouse in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada.

Will vary in size, colour, and finish.

Orders should reflect the minimum quantity per our current published catalogs. Pokoloko prices listed herein are valid until the next catalog release; however, due to market factors outside of our control, published prices may be adjusted prior to this date.

Backorders If less than 15% of the order is unavailable we will ship as is and backorder the remaining items. Pokoloko will make reasonable attempts to contact customers to communicate what may not be available from their orders, but will then ship and back order the unavailable products unless otherwise directed by the customer. Pokoloko will contact customers when back ordered items are restocked to confirm shipping details.

Payment Terms We accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express (AMEX in Canada only), EMT, EFT (direct deposit), cheque, and PayPal. All opening orders must be prepaid by credit card, EMT, EFT (direct deposit), or PayPal (no cheques). A $25 fee will be charged for any returned cheques due to insufficient funds. If you would like to apply for payment terms please contact your Pokoloko rep or orders@pokoloko.com for a credit reference form. Submit completed credit reference forms to orders@pokoloko.com or your Pokoloko rep. Net 30 payment terms may be granted upon approval of credit application. 44

Special routing instructions must be provided at the time of order, otherwise, Pokoloko will ship at their own discretion. Customers who refuse a shipment will be responsible for the cost of both outbound and inbound freight and a 20% restocking fee. Pokoloko has a 24-48 hour shipment turn around time for all in-stock products, except during high season where delays may be experienced due to the high volume of orders. Once an order has been delivered to the customer’s correct address, with proof of delivery signed by the customer, the package is no longer the responsibility of Pokoloko, it is the responsibility of the customer. If the package becomes lost by the customer after signed proof of reception, the customer is still expected to pay Pokoloko for their order, as the loss is the responsibility of the customer.

Cancelling Orders We understand that sometimes your plans will need to change. Please submit any requests for order cancellations at least 1 week before the order’s ship date. Orders cancelled after the order is processed at the Poko warehouse, and/or shipped, will be subject to a 20% restocking fee and applicable freight charges. Orders refused and returned to the Poko warehouse will be subject to a 20% restocking fee and applicable freight charges.
