On behalf of the staff at Athens Pizza & Pasta, my brother Tom, my wife Nina and I, would like to thank the generous Auburn community for helping us raise a little over $10,000 for our annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner. To our loyal customers and first-time patrons that stopped in to give us a try, thank you for reaching in your pocket and donating, from a simple $1 to $1,000 donation, we did it. To our local businesses that made grand donations, you made such an impact to this event. Our deepest gratitude to all of you. Many other businesses that donated products and food, we appreciate every item so very much.
We are able to give the remainder of the cash donations to the Auburn Food Bank and the Auburn Fire Department for Toys for Tots and this year we are adding the Auburn Police Department to help with families in need for the holidays. We donated the remainder of the food to the Tacoma Rescue Mission. A big thank you to Barbers Against Hunger for their continued partnership and help with this event. Especially to Randy Simon who takes all the leftover food to the Tacoma Rescue Mission every year. To our wonderful volunteers that were serving guests, cleaning dishes, wiping tables and slicing up huge quantities of pumpkin pie, thank you. Many of you were here all day. You gave up your own time with family and friends to help out. It was

‘Serving Auburn for 36 Years’
exceptionally heart warming to see the enthusiasm from our younger generation who volunteered. Its great to see them get excited about serving pie or pouring juice. I believe when people come together for a cause like this, especially on Thanksgiving Day, a bond is created between volunteers. This year our kids and their friends gathered together and assembled over 150 blessing bags & passed them out to those in need. Inside the bags are warm gloves, socks, fleece caps, toiletries and snacks, you should have seen the smiles on the guests faces when they received those, it was priceless. This year we served 892 people inside the restaurant and approximately 150 at the Tacoma Rescue Mission with the remaining food leftover. Everyone deserves a hot traditional meal on Thanksgiving Day and we are trying every year to make that happen for our community. Please help us spread the word for next year, as we would like to serve as many people as we possibly can. With the help of donations from supporters, we will continue our event annually. Your commitment in donating to this event is sincerely appreciated. Thanks again for your generous support. All remaining monetary donations will always go back to the community of Auburn.
