The Kitsap County Fair is always a favorite event.

here is a lot to love about Bremerton.

We love our Navy, our shipyard, and our role in the nation’s defense.

We love our inlets, parks, and natural spaces.

We love our public schools and our Olympic College — now offering fouryear degrees and rated one of the 10 best community colleges in the United States.

We love our sports teams. How many cities of 40,000 population have a semipro baseball team (Kitsap BlueJackets), semipro basketball team (Kitsap Admirals), semipro hockey team (West Sound Warriors) and development-league soccer team (Kitsap Pumas)? (We even have roller derby. And we’re the home of Olympic gold medalist swimmer Nathan Adrian.)

We love our culture. It’s a culture of art galleries, and film and performing arts theaters. But it’s also a culture of giving, of non-profits and neighborhoods that are working to make sure no one

falls through the cracks. Bremerton has its challenges for sure, but many of our neighbors are part of the local safety net that has our backs.
