Festival Street Closures Please note the following street closures: Houser Way N. between Mill Avenue S. and Bronson Way N. will be closed at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, and will reopen on Monday, July 24. The Renton River Days Parade, beginning at 10:00 a.m., will be on Saturday, July 22, and travels down South 3rd Street from Shattuck Avenue to Liberty Park. In order to form the Parade, South 3rd Street between Rainier and Mill will be closed to all traffic and parking from 7:00 a.m. until completion of the Parade at approximately 1:00 p.m. All side streets adjacent to and leading to South 3rd Street will be restricted to local access only during the same time period. There will be no downtown street closures on Sunday, July 23.

Carol Janssen Recognized with 2017 Outstanding Service Awared Since 1991, the volunteer Renton River Days (RRD) Board of Directors has selected an individual, team or organization to receive the festival’s Outstanding Service Award. This year, the Board selected long-time community member Carol Janssen, for her years of volunteer service, sharing her talents and expertise in graphic design, marketing and social media platforms, and helping to facilitate and sustain thirty-two years of continuous financial support from her employer, First Financial Northwest Bank (FFNWB). (RRD celebrates 32 years this year) Highlights of Janssen’s volunteer service: • Volunteer RRD Board

Carol Janssen with First Financial Northwest Bank member since 2009 • Served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from January 2013 - December 2014 • Has helped to represent FFNWB for 30+ years

and advocate for sustained significant funding support; FFNWB has been a premier festival supporter all 32 years • Helps to administer the RRD Facebook page and other social media platforms • Helps to administer RRD financial accounts and services as needed • In 2014, Janssen designed and managed the “RRD SelfieAdventure,” where gamers would follow clues on social media and take/post selfies at locations, then completed game entries entered for a chance at an impressive array of prizes • Janssen provides cost-saving and significant efforts with annual graphic and marketing production; adapts officially themed logo graphics as needed

for numerous materials such as: letterhead, update various applications, posters, festival schedule, official guide, rack cards, inserts, mailers, and various festival souvenir products such as buttons, youth and adult t-shirts, mugs, water bottles and more. • Janssen is an accomplished photographer and shares RRD photos each year to augment our files and archives; photos consistently used in presentations and marketing materials. “Always Specquackular” River Days Parade! For the 32nd year, spectators will line S. 3rd St. from Shattuck Ave. to Liberty Park on Saturday, July 22, for the 10:00 a.m. start of the annual Renton River Days Parade, sponsored by Brotherton Cadillac. River Days appreciates the annual return of STAR 101.5 FM's Kent Phillips as our Parade Announcer for 75+ entries showcasing drill and dance teams, marching bands, sport teams, community and kid-focused groups, classic cars, plus much more. Also featured, will be comedian, motivational speaker and former host of Almost Live! John Keister as the Parade’s Grand Marshal, and this year Renton River Days honors Carol Janssen, festival volunteer and Board member, and employee of First Financial Northwest Bank, as our 2017 Outstanding Service Award recipient. The Wenatchee Youth Circus will host three performances at Cedar River Park, the park adjacent to the Henry Moses Aquatics Center and the Renton Community Center. Show times are Friday, July 21 at 1:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 22 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets cost $2 per child under 18 and $3 per adult. Tickets may be purchased at the Festival Information Booth on July 21 or 22 in Liberty Park or 30 minutes prior to show times at the Circus entrance. Seating is "festival style" on the grass field. Easy access on foot from Liberty Park to Cedar River Park by using the I-405 underpass.
