AGUILAR Plans & Dreams for the Future:

I’m planning to attend a community college after I graduate. My major is going to be associate’s in criminal justice. Then I’d like to transfer into a four year university to get my bachelor’s degree in criminology.

Most Memorable Moments:

High school is filled with so many memorable moments that are hard to choose from. I didn’t really have memorable moments during freshman and sophomore year. Junior year and Senior year were definitely the greatest years in high school for me. I personally can’t choose my most memorable moments in high school.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?: The superpower I would pick would be healing. I want to help anyone who has a life threatening problem, or anyone who has lost hope or has hope to get better.

Most Memorable Moments:

The most memorable moment in high school was during my first season of track and field.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?: If I had a superpower, I would want to be able to read people’s mind.

Most Memorable Moments:

Some of my most memorable moments were band trips. Trips to Idaho with jazz band have been great. As well as both my trips to Spain and Costa Rica with Spanish Class.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?: I would be able to fly. I would like to fly because then I would be able to get places faster and thus spend less time traveling and more time at my destination. Plus the views are pretty great too.

I would pick the ability of perception. You could see the future, read people’s minds, and have a strong understanding of how everything works around you. You would not only be the smartest person on earth, but you would be able to find more solutions to worldwide problems. It would give me a better solution to helping other people with their problems.

Plans & Dreams for the Future: Help change the world with my voice. I hope to speak to people from all around the planet and have conversations about current issues in the world and how we can come together to make change happen. That this could lead to a career in politics where I could work with local and state governments in order to facilitate a renewable and prosperous future. Most Memorable Moments: In junior year when I got to play a saxophone solo at an honor’s assembly in front of the whole school. I played my absolute best and got an amazing applause from the audience and I just remember feeling so happy and uplifted because people were so supportive of what I loved to do. This made me realize how supportive our little community is and how people here will always aid you. If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?: I think I’d go for telekinesis so I could move objects around with my mind. I wish I had some philanthropic or inspiring answer, but honestly I just think it’d be sweet to act like a Jedi.

“I really do believe that all of you are at the beginning of a wonderful journey. As you start traveling down that road of life, remember this: There are never enough comfort stops. The places you’re going to are never on the map. And once you get that map out, you won’t be able to re-fold it no matter how smart you are. So forget the map, roll down the windows, and whenever you can pull over and have picnic with a pig. And if you can help it never fly as cargo.” - Jim Henson

ANDERSON-DIEPENBROCK Plans & Dreams for the Future:

Next year I will attend Whitman College in Walla Walla. I hope to find a path that connects all of my passions and allows me to help people. I dream of changing the world in simple ways.

Plans & Dreams for the Future:

I’m going to learn about finance and make a lot of money.

Most Memorable Moments:

My best memories are playing Mahjong with friends in the dorm.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?: The superpower I want most is to be able to think about something and it will just happen.

Most Memorable Moments:

Laughing through language barriers with my homestay family in Guatemala; throwing my island rosebuds off the “End of the World” in Spain learning how to make “egg roles” from my favorite food vendor in Darjeeling India; being at peace in the North Cascades, the Sierra Nevadas (with Armstrong Scholars), and the Himalayas; ferry rides with my “boaties;” summers on horse back with my 4H girls; fall soccer seasons and winters flying in aerial silks.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?:

I would have the ability to see the story of a stranger. People are fascinating in their complexities, and I think it’s really important to learn and understand what makes someone who they are.

FOSTER Plans & Dreams for the Future:

I plan on attending Maine Maritime Academy after high school. I want to see the world as an ever-changing view as seen from my captain’s chair.

Most Memorable Moments:

Hanging out with my friends, Baker powder days, and summer sunsets have been some of the most memorable moments for me these past 4 years.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?:

Definitely the ability to breathe underwater. The ocean is a whole different world to explore, and breathing underwater would really help with that!

GRAUMAN-BOSS Plans & Dreams for the Future:

Next year I’ll be going East! To which school I’m not yet sure—still deciding—but I do know that I’ll be studying science, particularly biology and physics. I’ve so far narrowed it down to four states and five schools, ranging in starting letters from B to W. Hopefully I’ll continue to play soccer, participate in the theater, and of course pursue scientific research!

Most Memorable Moments:

Hiking, boating, acting, stage-managing, traveling, soccer playing (state!), violin playing, scienceing, and creating unforgettable memories with friends. I’m going to miss this place!

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?:

Shape-shifting—so that I can fly, swim, run, or become ostensibly invisible.

JAMESON Plans & Dreams for the Future:

Plans & Dreams for the Future:

I plan on attending Soka University of America in Orange County, CA. I am concentrating in Social and Behavioral Science with specific interests in Economics and Political Science. My dream is to go back to Rwanda, ready to contribute to its development.

Most Memorable Moments:

Hanging out with friends; Girls on Ice; spending time with different families that hosted me on Island; Star Wars; THRIVE; spending time with my roommates.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?: My superpower – a 100% photographic memory, then I would not have to struggle with Calculus formulas!

I’ve always known I wanted to be an actor. After many wonderful years of creating theatre on island, I’m ready to tell new stories at Bennington College in Vermont. Someday, after a fulfilling acting career, I’d like to teach the theatre arts and share my passion for storytelling in that way.

Most Memorable Moments:

The most memorable thing from the past four years is not a moment, but a feeling. It is the feeling of home. I am so thankful for the support found at Spring Street, and I will never forget traveling, learning, and creating with my peers and teachers.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?:

My superpower is on stage. I can transform into another person to see the world through their eyes and understand their story. I have the ability to transport an audience through time and space. Theatre is a powerful force, and I love that I can use it to connect with others.

LI

Plans & Dreams for the Future:

In the future, I want to be an international businessman—or maybe open a fantastic shoe store!

Most Memorable Moments:

The most memorable moment of the last 4 years was when I went on the SSIS Southwest trip. One day, we rode bicycles on a mountain. The experience was really exciting, but I also flew off of my bike and got hurt. There are still scars on my arm.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?:

I would pick flying, because when I was a kid, I really wanted to be an astronaut and ride a rocket into the universe. So, if I could fly, I’d be just like a superman who can go anywhere I want.

NOREEN Plans & Dreams for the Future:

I am going to attend Western Washington University to study environmental science, marine biology, and environmental policy. I hope to be involved in research projects studying long-term climate change.

Most Memorable Moments:

Interning at the Friday Harbor Labs; kayaking across a lake in Guatemala; walking through intensely beautiful landscapes in Spain, and helping to lead an eighth grade trip to Washington DC and NYC.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?:

I know shape-shifting is cliché, but it is probably the best superpower because it has the most applications in the world. A person could do almost anything with a shape-shifting power.

RICHARD Plans & Dreams for the Future:

People say that the greatest good in this world is happiness. My plans and dreams are quite simple. My dream is to always be happy and live a comfortable life by supporting myself. This is all I want for myself, but before I can accomplish this, I will attend University of Victoria in Canada.

Most Memorable Moments:

When I went to Guatemala with my classmates. One night we shared a small, round straw hut and immediately noticed the cockroaches. We all got so freaked out that all 7 of us piled into a single person bunk bed. Soon the cockroaches weren’t the only problem we faced.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?:

I wish I had the superpower to talk to animals. My chickens are so loud at times, I just want to ask them to shut up, but moreover I want this ability to be able to help animals in need.

Congratulations from Island Bicycles • (360) 378-4941

ZHANG

Plans & Dreams for the Future:

I am interested in cooking so maybe I will be a chef in a restaurant in China or another country, but I want to be a teacher or a businessman too.

Most Memorable Moments:

The most memorable moment in my memory was in March of 2017. I went to Jackson’s Beach with my friend Lizy. It was very cold but we took off our shoes and ran to the ocean anyway. It was very fun, and we laughed with each other for a long, long time.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?:

If I had a superpower I would fly—and fly fast. If I could fly, I could study in the USA, and when my friends or my family needed me, I could zip over to go stay with them. Maybe, I would go to Olympic Games and beat Bolt.

Most Memorable Moments:

Four years ago, I was studying in Beijing. I got sick. My parents were working far away in the Tangshan. They came to see me.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?:

If I were to have a super power, I would fly. If I could fly, I could go home. I could also go anywhere I wanted to. And, I wouldn’t need to buy a plane ticket.

HALLOCK Plans & Dreams for the Future: My unannounced dreams have come true. And, I finally know what I want to be when I grow up! After a restful summer, because let’s face it, school is exhausting, I will attend Western Governor’s University to begin work on my bachelor’s degree in elementary education (K-8). P.S. It is a lot harder to go back to school as an adult, but we all have to walk our own paths. If you could pick a superpower, what would it be and why?: LOL!!! That’s appropriate right? I’ll start where I left off in 1999: cross country trips, city life, back to the island life, giving birth (that’s a doozy), marrying my sweet honey, beautiful children, blended family parenting, new family, new friends, old friends, holidays, birthdays, beach days, family days, good days, bad days, best sister ever!, camping, fishing, vacationing, so much working, VBS-ing, gardening, anniversaries, Prause wedding.
