esterday I was working at the annual Island Jamboree for track & field and reflecting on how very fortunate we are to have the support for our programs that the community of Oak Harbor provides. We have great students to work with, coaches who put in countless hours to help students achieve their goals, and facilities that provide venues for participants and fans alike. Another group we rely heavily on in the spring is our volunteers. We have many volunteers from within the community and through our Navy partnership. Their help as volunteers is greatly appreciated and noted. This spring we have 327 students participating on our athletic teams. On any given day you can find a buzz of activity taking place at OHHS. When the sunny days arrive and even if you need to bundle up on a cloudy day, we appreciate your support as tried and true Wildcat fans.

game • set • match SCORING • Each tennis match is made up of two to three sets. To win a set, you must win at least six games.

• The games are scored starting at “love” (or zero) and going up to 40, but that’s actually just three points. From love, the first point is 15, then 30, then 40, which wins the game.

DEUCE When two competing sides are tied at “40” in a game. Because a game must be won by two points, play continues from deuce until one player leads by a margin of two points.
