to the Fall 2015 Athletic Season!

W

e are off to another great start this school year and look forward to seeing many of you in the stands cheering on the Wildcats. We currently have 315 students participating in fall sports.

This fall we have added a couple new coaching positons. Brittany Flynn-Johnson has been hired as the new Assistant Girls’ Swim and Dive Coach. Her main responsibility will be to work with our students wanting to learn to dive or improve on the skills they already have. This has provided a great opportunity for our students and additional support to the program. Over the past several years, the need to implement a consistent strength and condition program for all of our student-athletes throughout the year has become important. Coach Peter Esvelt and Coach Jon Atkins will be working NICKI LUPER with head coaches of each team to design sport-specific programs that will improve the strength and ATHLETIC DIRECTOR condition of our student-athletes, in turn helping them excel. The addition of these positions would not be possible without the continued support of the Oak Harbor community.

The games are scored starting at “love” (or zero) and going up to 40, but that’s actually just three points. From love, the first point is 15, then 30, then 40, which wins the game.

DEUCE When two competing sides are tied at “40” in a game. Because a game must be won by two points, play continues from deuce until one player leads by a margin of two points.
