Tuesday Children’s Concerts July 7–August 18, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Juanita Beach Pk Thursday Evening Concerts July 9—August 20 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Marina Park The Children’s Concerts series on Tuesday mornings is one of the only child-themed concert series in the area. On Thursday evenings, watch the sun set over Lake Washington and the Olympic Mountains while enjoying a picnic in the park complemented by toe-tapping music at the Evening Concerts. Mother’s Day Half Marathon & 5K Juanita Beach Park/Northwest University, May 10, 7 a.m. The Kirkland Mother’s Day Half Marathon & 5K is a Kirkland Mother’s Day tradition. Runners and walkers of all skill levels participate in this scenic and supportive running and walking event. Both the half marathon and the 5K courses incorporate a rewarding route that includes picturesque views along the shores of Lake Washington and Cross Kirkland Corridor.

Park Lane Opening May 29–31, Park Lane – 6 p.m. downtown Kirkland

Join us in Downtown Kirkland for the Grand Opening of the new Park Lane! A ribbon cutting by City Council members will take place on Friday, May 29, at 6 p.m., followed by a Street Party with the Geoffrey Castle Band. The celebration continues on Saturday, May 30 with an open-air market and entertainment.

Seattle International Film Festival June 1–7, Times vary Kirkland Performance Center

Recognized as one of the top film festivals in North America, the 41st Seattle International Film Festival brings the world’s greatest films to the Kirkland Performance Center.

NAMI Walk of Washington June 6, Marina Park

Help support the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) by joining the Annual NAMI Walk of Washington, the largest and most successful mental health awareness and fundraising event in America.

Bluefish Festival, June 6 Peter Kirk Park and KTUB

Join the Kirkland Youth Council and Kirkland Teen Union Building (KTUB) for the 14th Annual Bluefish Festival—a showcase of music and art for local teens. Local bands perform during the event and there is a gallery of art in the KTUB. The event is free and includes a barbecue.

Kirkland SUP Cup June 20, Race Start 9 a.m. Juanita Beach Park

Be part of the inaugural Kirkland SUP Cup! A six-mile buoyed course around Juanita Bay on Lake Washington at Juanita Beach Park consists of 3 laps, all within view from the shore and boardwalk! The event will also include a 1-mile kids’ race.


Celebrate Kirkland 4th of July Parade, Picnic and Fireworks July 4, Marina Park

Join in the fun at Kirkland’s annual Fourth of July celebration featuring a “decorate to celebrate” event for kids at Marina Park Pavilion, followed by a parade, live music and a picnic. The evening finishes off with a fantastic

fireworks display over Marina Park with viewing from Kirkland’s many waterfront parks.

Kirkland Uncorked July 17–19, Marina Park

Enjoy this regional showcase of art, food and wine on the picturesque shores of Lake Washington. The festival features wines from world-class Washington wineries, bite-sized feasts from notable Eastside restaurants, and appearances from the Northwest’s most prestigious celebrity chefs and culinary personalities.

Kirkland Classic Car Show July 25–26, Downtown Kirkland

The 13th Annual Kirkland Classic Car show, presented by Kirkland Downtown Association and hosted by Legends Car Club is one of the largest car show events on the Eastside. More than 600 hot rods and classic cars will be parked along Marina Park and downtown Kirkland. Free.


Kirkland SummerFest August 7–8, Marina Park

Kirkland Summerfest transforms Kirkland’s Marina Park and downtown core into a lively arts destination with music, dancing, street performances, and family entertainment. Food trucks and a beverage garden round out the attractions. See website for times and locations of activities. Food and beverage available for purchase; admission is free.

Junior Softball World Series August 2–8, Everest Park

Held annually in Kirkland—teams from around the world will compete this August in the weeklong Junior League Softball World Series Championship. Opening Day begins Sunday, Aug. 2. Championship playoffs held Saturday, Aug. 8, broadcast by ESPN. Free.

Tall Ships at Carillon Point September 1–8, Carillon Point

The Park to Park swim is a fun, noncompetitive 1.42-mile swim across Lake Washington from Matthews Beach, Seattle, to O.O. Denny Park, Kirkland. Proceeds from the swim benefit the Emergency Patient Assistance Fund at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Ever wanted to know what is was like to sail on the high seas? Ask the crew while you tour the majestic tall ships when they dock at Carillon Point this summer. Public tours and sailings offered throughout the weekend

The Life Care Center of Kirkland antique and classic car show offers residents and the community an opportunity to reminisce and meet new friends. The 16-piece swing band will entertain while you enjoy free food, free massages and free caricature drawings at the 17th annual event.

Kids ages 3–12 can swim/splash, bike and run in this triathlon that is just for them! The triathlon includes a 50-yard swim/splash in Lake Washington, a halfmile bike ride, and a half-mile run. All segments will be in the park, so kids feel safe and spectators can catch all the fun.
