Public forum will explore proposed Pierce County General Services Building Images Courtesy Pierce County Pierce County officials will host a public forum later this month to provide local residents with an opportunity to learn about the County's proposed plan to build the new Pierce County General Services Building (pictured) on the site of the former Puget Sound Hospital, which is located near South 36th Street and Pacific Avenue. According to Pierce County officials, the proposed Pierce County General Services Building would consolidate 18 programs that currently operate in 12 locations into one facility. The eight-story building would be owned by a nonprofit corporation and leased to Pierce County, which would take ownership at the end of the term, Pierce County officials report. The public forum will be held on Thurs., Jan. 22, between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., at the Pierce County Annex, located at 2401 S. 35th St., in Tacoma. Councilmembers Connie Ladenburg,
Derek Young, and Rick Talbert will join Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy, Pierce County department heads, and representatives of project developer Wright Runstad. More information about the project is available online at piercecountywa.org.
