JULY 3 Street Dance 6 - 11 p.m. along Winslow Way Plenty of music for everyone will be available on two stages. On the Main Stage near Madrone Lane, the evening will open with Avalara’s band The Tax Authorities, followed by Bainbridge locals Mike Sharp & The Lubricators. And then, back by popular demand, Mutha Knows Best will entertain the crowd with music from Old School Funk to present day hits. On the second stage enjoy dance muisc hits from a fan-favorite DJ. There will be several local food stands and the ever-famous Street Dance Beer & Wine Garden, with beer from local favorite Bainbridge Island Brewing and wine from Harbor Square Wine Shop. JULY 4 35th Annual BYS Fun Run Registration at 7:30 a.m. at BPA The annual Fourth of July Bainbridge Youth Services Fun Run will feature a 1-mile run and 5K run/ walk and kids dashes. Participants will beat feet in downtown Winslow at 9 a.m.; 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on the Fourth of July 4. Registration for the Fun Run has started on www. bifunrun.com. Day-of-race registration ($25 for 5K, $25 for 1-mile, $5 for Kids Dash) begins at 7:30 a.m. at Bainbridge Performing Arts. www.bainbridgeyouthservices.org 47th Annual Grand Old Fourth of July Celebration Now in its 47th year, the Grand Old Fourth includes a pancake breakfast, all-day street fair, foot races (benefiting Bainbridge Youth Services), a classic car show, music, food, entertainment, a beer garden and plenty of family fun—all capped off by the “Best Small Town Parade in America.” The mile-long parade begins at 1 p.m. sharp. The parade route

goes from the library down Madison Avenue, onto Winslow Way and ends at Ericksen Avenue. The street fair is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located in the Town & Country parking lot, on Bjune and Brien streets and in Waterfront Park. It features more than 100 arts and crafts, food, non-profit and information booths. The Grand Old Fourth is produced and presented by the Chamber of Commerce, with the help of dozens of volunteers and a handful of loyal sponsoring businesses. The pancake breakfast, benefiting the Bainbridge High School Boosters Club, begins at 7 a.m. Call (206) 842-3700. www.bainbridgechamber.com Arnold Jackson Memorial Fireworks Show 10 - 11 p.m. Starts between 10 - 10:30 p.m. Over Eagle Harbor near Pritchard Park Beach Bainbridge Fireworks is the nonprofit that funds and presents the Bainbridge Island Fireworks show. The fireworks show is dedicated to the memory of Arnold Jackson, long-time Bainbridge volunteer firefighter and Chamber member who coordinated the Fourth’s festivities for more than 20 years. The display will be launched from a barge moored at the end of Ward Avenue. Pritchard Park, Waterfront Park and Harbor Square will all offer prime viewing. www.bainbridgefireworks.org

JULY 20 Virginia V Steamboat Cruise 3- 6 p.m. Bainbridge Island City dock Enjoy the panorama of Bainbridge Island’s waterfront as you cruise around the Island on the beautifully restored steamship Virginia V, the last of the “Mosquito Fleet” steamers. This annual fundraiser of the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum is a festive and informative event. It will feature the Suquamish Tribe Archeologist and Historic Preservation Officer, Dennis Lewarch, discussing the historical relationship of the Suquamish and Bainbridge Island. In addition to a delicious box lunch each passenger will receive an informative guide including a map describing 33 place names the early Suquamish had for special hunting and camping areas on the Island. For example, Battle Point was called “Kaxtyo” in Lushootseed which means “Stingy village, with stingy leader.” Passengers can often identify these landmarks by looking for pilings that still remain from the old docks. Watching the 1898 steam engine operate and pulling the steam whistle in the pilot house are always a highlight of the cruise. JULY 21-24 Blueprint Builders 9:30 a.m. – Noon, 1 – 4 p.m. KiDiMu, 301 Ravine Lane NE Tinker time! Put on your thinking hard hat and experiment with engineering. In fact, campers will wear many hats when they join the KiDiMu Crew. They will “play architect” to develop their own ideas. Like engineers, they will experiment with different materials to plan and test their designs. And just like a real construction crew, they will learn tool safety to build their final project. 4th Annual Island Cup Island-wide Bainbridge Island FC’s third-annual Island Cup will take place over the weekend of Aug. 22-24 on fields across Bainbridge Island. The tournament will be open to Washington Youth Soccer teams, US Club teams, US Youth Soccer teams from across the country, youth teams from Canada, and teams that are properly insured with an organization. www.bifc.net/IslandCup

Noon - 8:00 p.m. After-ride-event at Waterfront Park The Bainbridge Island Kiwanis present the second annual Summer Challenge Bike Ride, the “Not so Chilly, but just as Hilly!” Bike Ride. Ride either the 34- or 52-mile Summer Challenge or the 16-mile Family Challenge. For ages 16 and over (and under 16 when accompanied by an adult).
