We are a group of individuals dedicated to help those in need, providing enhancement to our community through hands-on projects and grants, and to creating an environment that allows our members to enrich their own lives by selflessly serving others. We proudly present the community of Kent with the Kent Farmers Market, Kent Cornucopia and Winterfest to name a few.

Serving Kent Since 1938 Our Core CommitteeS! Our primary reason for existence as an organization is Sight - Hearing - Diabetes Primary “Sight & Hearing” Committees: • Eyeglasses to kids: We provide eye exams and eyeglasses to any kid in the Kent School District that cannot afford it. • Hearing aids to seniors: In partnership with the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight & Hearing, we provide hearing aids primarily to senior citizens within Kent who cannot afford them. • Used eyeglasses & hearing aids collections: Each year we collect up to 15,000 pairs of used eyeglasses and about 25 hearing aids from the community. We give the hearing aids to the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight & Hearing (NWLFSH) and the eyeglasses to Northwest Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center (NWLERC), both regional Lions organizations that collect and process these items. Other Sight & Hearing sub Committees: • Lions Camp Leo—providing scholarships to diabetic Kent youth and help at this camp • Leader Dog—support and funding for dog training for the blind • NWLERC—by not only collecting used eyeglasses, but cleaning, sorting, measuring, and storing eyeglass at the site in Lacy, WA • MD19 touring Health Unit—support and maning this unit from NWLFSH • White Canes Day—providing physical public awareness for eyesight issues & Lionism
Our High Visibility Committees! Kent Cornucopia Days Committee: • By far Kent Cornucopia Days is the reason most people know about us. This event is wholly owned by the Kent Lions and is now one of the top ten largest events in the State of Washington and is a award winning and nationally recognized event that benefits nearly 250 non-profit or charitable causes. This is also our primary fundraising event that allows us to fund all of our other community service projects. This committee works year around to insure the success of this very important community event. There are multiple subcommittees within this committee that needs volunteers to help with and is generally divided into Administrative / PR, Operations, and Events. Kent Farmers Market Committee: • This is our second largest community service project that is held each Saturday during the months of June through September. We helped establish this market back in 1974 and the City of Kent asked us to resurrect the floundering Market and we took complete control of the Market in 2004 at Town Square Plaza. Kent Winterfest Committee: • This is our third largest community service project and is rapidly becoming one of our communities favorite. At this event, we organize and produce the “Santa Parade” which is a lighted entry and holiday themed parade, and with the help of the City of Kent, we organize and produce the beautiful “Lighted Christmas Tree Ceremony” and provide food and treats for the community at Town Square Plaza.
Tahoma National Cemetery: • The Kent Lions have put on every Memorial & Veteran’s Day Observance, including its Dedication Ceremony, since 1997. The Tahoma National Cemetery Support Group organizes the program and we and the Tahoma Staff set up the events with our tents, staging, & PA equipment. We then help manage the program and break it all down.
