Island County Voter Guide 2012 A special supplement from your Whidbey Island Community Newspapers

Whidbey Island’s Local Voter Guide On behalf of Whidbey Island’s three community newspapers, I’m pleased to present the Whidbey Island 2012 Voter Guide. A few years ago, the Island County Auditor’s Office decided it could no longer afford to spend taxpayer dollars to produce a printed voter guide. As a result, voters have had to turn to the Internet to read the statements submitted by candidates to the Washington Secretary of State’s Office. This year, in an effort to provide voters with easy access to information about the races and the local ballot measure on the Nov. 6 ballot, we have compiled the statements submitted by candidates and presented them in printed form. This guide will be distributed to readers of our newspapers well as at libraries throughout Whidbey Island. The outcome of elections affects the future of our community. Please take the time to read through each statement, and make sure you return your ballot to the Island County Elections Office by Tuesday, Nov. 6.
