Les Schwab is sponsoring an ‘All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast’ to benefit the Meals On Wheels on North Whidbey program on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9-11 am at the Oak Harbor Senior Center. Menu includes: Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage, Orange Juice, Coffee, Tea, or Milk. There will be several Door Prizes. Cost is $7 for Adults and $4 for 10 years and younger. CRAFT FAIR

If you are interested in participating in a Craft Fair at the Oak Harbor Senior Center, call Roxann at 279-4583. Possible date for the fair on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 & 17. Set-up would be Friday afternoon and Craft Fair will run from 6–8 pm and then Saturday, 9 am–3 pm. Cost to rent a table is $25. Will need at least 15 interested people by Oct. 1 before further planning is done.

by Senior Services of Island County are so important because they help seniors who are often alone, isolated, and can’t cook

or prepare a meal for themselves. It brings hope to seniors who are isolated and frail. The goal is to promote independence, prevent isolation and hunger, and preserve personal dignity. The Meals on Wheels delivery also provides a personal friendly visit where the seniors can stay connected to their volunteers thus the community. You Scream, I Scream! We All Scream For Ice Cream & Great Fall Trips!

Come and enjoy an ice cream sundae and sign up for Fall 2012 Travel on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 4-7 pm. Be among the first to know the new trips offered for Fall. The Fall Travel Brochure will be mailed to members of the Oak Harbor Senior Center. All others may stop by and pick up a brochure after September 14. Save on trip costs by renewing your membership. Remember, your out-of-town guests, or your guests under 50 will receive your member price on trips.

Neighborhood Watch Program

The Volunteer Lawyer Program of Island County (VLPIC) is sponsoring a Free Estate Planning Workshop on Monday, Sept. 24 at 1 pm at the Oak Harbor Senior Center. The workshop will be presented by Attorney Douglass A. Saar, Law Office of Skinner and Saar. Learn about Wills, Probate, Will Alternatives, Financial and Medical Powers of Attorney, Medical Directives and more. No financial eligibility guidelines and open to everyone. Coming soon o a neighborhood near you! Neighborhood Watch is an organized group of citizens devoted to crime and vandalism prevention within their neighborhoods. If you are interested in learning more about Neighborhood Watch or would like to start a group in your neighborhood, please leave your contact information at the Front Desk of the Oak Harbor Senior Center or call the Center at 279-4580.. The Neighborhood Watch Program is being organized under the Oak Harbor Police Department.

APPLEBEE’S DINING OUT FUNDRAISER EVENT FOR OHSC

Invite all of your Friends & Family to dine with us any time on Tuesday, Sept. 18 and Applebee’s will donate 15% of the proceeds to the Oak Harbor Senior Center. (To-go and carside to-go orders will be applied!) Pick up your flyer (Ticket) at the Oak Harbor Senior Center. You must have a ticket for the Senior Center to receive 15%. This offer is good only at the Applebee’s at 31810 State Route 20 in Oak Harbor. A fun, tasty way to raise funds and best of all no dishes to wash!
