Pacific Research Laboratories, Inc. (Sawbones) is seeking a Production Manager to join our team on Vashon Island, WA. For over three decades, Sawbones, the originators of “hands-on” workshop models, continues to be the leader in medical models for orthopedic and medical education. Sawbones models have been specifically developed for use in motor skills exercises where a realistic artificial anatomical model is required for the “hands-on” teaching of surgical procedures. Job Description: The Production Manager is responsible for all activities related to the manufacturing operations on the production floor. This includes planning of production, production control, new product integration and continuous process improvement. This position oversees a staff of approximately 70 employees on multiple shifts and reports to the CEO. Responsibilities: • Develops and maintains manufacturing business plan to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, and production costs. • Ensures that quality and on time delivery commitments are met. • Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. • Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all employees on the production floor including swing shift. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees up to termination; addressing complaints and resolving problems. • Performs other duties as required. Qualification Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Demonstrated competence in overall operations of a manufacturing environment. • Excellent time management, problem solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills. • Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands. • Working knowledge of manufacturing and database software. About Vashon: Vashon Island is located five miles south of the north end ferry terminal which services Fauntleroy (West Seattle) and Southworth (Port Orchard).
