Julie Gadomskaya had no idea her life was about to change.

The Auburn resident was expecting a fun date on her birthday, Dec. 18, when her boyfriend, Eugene Polupan, took her to Bellevue’s Snowflake Lane.

“He treats me like a princess,” Gadomskaya said. “He cares for others like I’ve never seen in anyone.”

In reality, Polupan had far more in store than a birthday surprise.

On the morning of her birthday, a stressful string of events certainly had not set the scene, or even hinted, at the romantic events that were waiting for Gadomskaya that night.

Tolls now fact of life on SR 520

But Gadomskaya’s birthday started to look up, as Polupan promised her three gifts he would give her that day: “something purple, something green and something fuzzy.”

The purple something came first, when he came to her house to pick her up, a violetcolored balloon and orchid for her in his hands.

Next, came the “something green” at the Garden d’Lights event in Bellevue Botanical Garden with the couple walking among the trees and bushes lit up by half a million twinkling lights in ornate displays.

Later on, after the garden, sipping on hot chocolate and then ice skating downtown, Polupan took her to the final part of the date – the annual Bellevue holiday tradition, Snowflake Lane.

at the corner of Bellevue Way Northeast and Northeast Sixth Street, the two waited for the festivities to begin complete with snow whizzing down from the tops of the buildings and young people in solider costumes marching through the downtown streets.

They couldn’t look more in love, holding gloved hands in the cold: his rugged, scruffy beard brushing against her rosy cheek.

As the big clock outside Palomino turned from 6:59 p.m. to 7 p.m., the show began – downtown Bellevue was transformed into a winter wonderland.

A young woman dressed up as a Snow Queen for the parade, walked along the crowded sidewalk waving and smiling at children bundled up in coats, holding their parents’ hands.

It’s been years and millions of dollars in the making, but tolls on State Route 520 began Thursday morning.

The first day with the new equipment in place was going smoothly the early-morning, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. Traffic on the bridge the first hour of tolling was 45 percent less than a normal day, according to WSDOT. However, the real traffic test for commuters is expected to begin Tuesday morning, when people return from their holiday vacation.

WSDOT Tolls Director Craig Stone has said there will be some diversion away from 520 because of the tolls. These drivers are likely to go to Interstate 90, State Route 522 and Interstate 405.

“Drivers from Issaquah to Seattle and Tukwila to Shoreline will see changes to their commute,” Stone said. “Drivers who use these routes [ more TOLLS page 10 ]

Fire destroys building on Bel-Red Road

Bellevue names Transportation Director

A fire destroyed a two-story office building on Bel-Red Road on Monday, displacing 15 buisnesses.

Emergency dispatchers received a cell phone call at 5:31 a.m. The structure, the Forum West office building, is across from the Coca Cola plant across from the Coke Factory.

Bellevue firefighters arrived within five minutes to find a light haze from the Forum West office building. Firefighters entered the building and found heavy smoke and fire on the second floor.

Firefighters from Bellevue, Redmond, and Kirkland worked inside and on the roof of the structure to confine the fire.

Within 43 minutes, Bellevue Fire requested a second and third alarm as well as units from the Seattle Fire Department.

Concerned about the structural stability of the building, firefighters were ordered to withdraw after 45 minutes. Shortly after firefighters withdrew, the east side of the building collapsed onto itself.

Firefighters continued to fight the fire from the exterior for nearly two hours before the majority of the fire was knocked down. No injuries were reported during the incident.

The damage is estimated at $1.5 million and the building is a total loss.

Bellevue Parks and Police help Kindering Parks and Police Department officials from the City of Bellevue recently met with Kindering staff to discuss ways to help ensure safety for them and the children with special needs they serve.

Kindering is a nonprofit neurodevelopmental center for children ages birth to three, with special needs.

“We are concerned for the safety of the children and families who participate in our program,” said Kathy Fortner, director of operations at Kindering. “The police, especially the officers of the bike

patrol and Crossroads precinct, were extremely helpful by providing safety ideas, options to improve security and crime prevention tips.”

Fortner also noted that the Parks Department responded quickly to improve the parking lot safety and visibility in the area.

The thanks came in the form of an email to city officials.

Bellevue has promoted its interim head of the Transportation Department, Dave Berg, to the position of director. Berg has been interim director since Goran Sparrman left the position in September.

“We’re lucky to have someone Dave Berg with Dave’s experience to lead the department,” said City Manager Steve Sarkozy.

“Residents perennially name transportation as a top issue in the city, and Dave will play a key role in addressing future transportation challenges.”

Berg began his tenure at the City of Bellevue in 1999 as the assistant director of capital projects; he was named deputy director of the department in 2006.

Prior to joining the city of Bellevue, Berg worked for 16 years at the state Department of Transportation’s Northwest Region.

Berg graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in civil engineering.

Ban cellphone, emailing, texting while driving

T

he National Transportation Safety Board has taken a tough, but necessary, stand on texting, emailing or chatting while driving a vehicle. The board wants it outlawed.

Good.

The unanimous recommendation from the five-member board would apply even to handsfree devices, a much stricter rule than any current state law.

Again, good.

Despite the popularity of such devices, there’s no way a person can give full concentration to driving and still pay attention to a making a telephone call, emailing or sending a text.

As NTSB chairwoman Deborah Hersman rightly noted, “No email, no text, no update, no call is worth a human life.”

And people have died while trying to do both. One deadly crash in Missouri involved a 19-year-old teen driving a pickup who sent or received 11 text messages within 11 minutes.

The pickup was traveling at 55 mph when it plowed into the back of a tractor truck that had slowed for highway construction. The pickup was then rear-ended by a school bus, and a second school bus rammed into the back of the first bus.

The pickup driver and a 15-year-old student on one of the buses were killed. Thirty-eight other people were injured.

Our state is one of 35 and the District of Columbia that bans texting while driving, and, along with eight other states and Washington, D.C., that ban hand-held cellphone use.

That seems like a step in the right direction, but you only have to look around at our streets to see driver after driver flaunting the law. And most, if not all of them, are clearly paying more attention to their cellphone calls and text messages than they are to their driving.

And, yes, the police do write tickets – lots of them – for these offenses – but it’s clear that it isn’t stopping this dangerous practice.

Let’s stop kidding ourselves: It is inconceivable to believe that all – or even most – of those cellphone calls and text messages are in response to an emergency. In reality, people doing them are putting their personal need to chat and text above any concern for public safety.

The National Transportation Safety Board is right. Ban all use of texting, emailing or chatting while driving. We can live without doing those activities. It’s now apparent that we can die while doing them.

his past holiday weekend, I watched a YouTube video that nearly made me spit out my coffee in astonishment: it was a message of encouragement from the Walt Disney company.

In the video, you hear from numerous Disneyland employees, or “cast members,” clad in their work uniforms and name tags. While they varied in age, gender, race and jobs (from imagineers to food/beverage employees) each one of them had at least one thing in common – they all were gay.

“This message is for anyone who has ever been bullied, teased or harassed for being different,” said George Kalogridis, president of the resort. One by one, the Disneyland employees told stories of what it was like growing up “different.”

Often, it wasn’t pretty – from being bullied, beaten and even considering suicide, each person shared a story.

“I was asked to leave my cheerleading squad in high school, and then faced with potentially having to leave my school,” said cast member Megan. But, despite Megan’s struggles, she and her coworkers had an important message to give: You are not alone. Life gets better.

I couldn’t believe it.

It was like the doors were parting to “The Happiest Place on Earth” and God himself, or more like, Mickey Mouse, was saying you, too, can belong to our wholesome, all-American family. You, too, are normal, acceptable and worthy of love. It doesn’t matter if you’re gay, straight or just feel like an outsider.

Yes, this is the same company founded by a man known for his Midwestern Protestant values, rumored to be a racist AntiSemite. His films, beloved by children, have been abhorred by minority groups for their blatant stereotyping and lack of sensitivity (think “What Made The Red Man Red” from “Peter Pan”).

But, it appears Mickey Mouse can evolve. And if he can, perhaps so can our other institutions, traditions and public values.

You may say I’m a dreamer. But quite clearly, I’m not the only one.

Gadomskaya thought the big birthday surprise was waiting for her inside the gift, not in a small box in Polupan’s pocket.

Later, she would hear all the details of how Polupan had arranged this with the Bellevue Collection, Snowflake Lane’s organizers. Later, she would learn that as she opened the gift from the Snow Queen, a photographer and a staff writer for the Bellevue Reporter were incognito, watching the couple’s every

move, in anticipation of the real surprise Polupan was planning. He had arranged for them to come, too, to document what he was about to do.

Inside the gift box wasn’t a birthday present – it was a letter from Polupan.

“Basically, it said that for the past seven or eight months we’ve been together, I’ve had the time of my life,” said Polupan, who’s been with Gadomskaya for less than a year, but has known her since the two were in diapers.

He was neighbors with her grandmother in the early ‘90s, and the two

played together as toddlers.

Years later, they reunited at a church party. She was working late, and didn’t make it to the party until after he had already left.

One of their mutual friends saw Gadomskaya and called Polupan on his cell phone, telling him the pretty girl he had hoped to run into had arrived.

After hanging up, Polupan pulled a U-turn on the highway.

Eight months later, he got down on one knee at Snowflake Lane – where he asked his girlfriend to become his wife. And she said yes.

“We definitely picked the

right place to stand,” said one of the many applauding, cheering bystanders as the couple kissed – Polupan with tears in his eyes.

At the end of the day, after giving her something purple and something green, Polupan kept his promise of the final gift.

“Do you have a warm fuzzy feeling?” he said, as the future husband and wife walked arm-and-arm, up the street to Earl’s restaurant, where their family and friends would see the sparkly, princess-cut diamond on Gadomskaya’s finger for the first time. “This is fuzzy.”

Bellevue to offer free master naturalist training ary 2012 for a series of in-class lectures, field trips, workshops and restoration projects in and around Bellevue City parks.

Upon completion of the program, naturalists are expected to complete a minimum of five hours of community service per month up to 100 hours of service to Bellevue’s natural resource

programs. Completion of 100 hours is not to exceed a two-year period.

Training sessions will take place on Fridays, Feb. 3 to April 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lewis Creek Visitor Center, 5808 Lakemont Blvd. Ideal candidates will have an enthusiasm for learning and some prior education and experience

in natural resource sciences.

Bellevue residents will have priority for selection.

Godsey and Sons merchandise store. His sons James and Clell made deliveries by wagon. A barbershop and blacksmith moved in nearby, and the railroad soon wanted to make a stop there.

James Godsey suggested that they call the stop “Midlakes.”

This image was probably taken in the mid-1910s. The Godsey family had time to not only build a house, but also lay a long walk from their doorway to the street, erect a fence, and plant a small fruit orchard.

Postal worker gets OK to wear Santa outfit Santa was saved in Bellevue.

Bellevue postal worker Bob McLean will be allowed to wear his full Santa Claus outfit when he delivers the mail on Saturday – Christmas Eve – following a resolution of the issue with management of the U.S. Postal Service.

“There will be a Santa in Bellevue,” McLean said happily Thursday afternoon.

The resolution also allows McLean to wear a Santa hat on Friday when he delivers the mail. McLean had been doing that for several days.

Interlake student has sights set on political future

Most 18-year-olds don’t spend their Monday nights at Bellevue City Hall, debating and advocating light-rail and other transit issues.

Then again, Daniel Warwick isn’t your average 18-year-old.

The Interlake High School senior often eschews sports and video games for technical memorandums and board meetings.

And now, as he completes his college applications, Warwick is attempting to be a part of the city’s Transportation Commission and the East Bellevue Community Council. “As long as I’m here, and I don’t have that many responsibilities, I might as well give back to my community that gives me so much,� Warwick said.

Warwick has been motivated for much of his life by a thirst for knowledge.

As a frequent bus rider, he’s noticed some problems. And he’s found similarly interested people through media sources like the Seattle Transit Blog, a website dedicated to local transportation issues.

This community stoked his involvement even more. Warwick served on the Eastside Sounding Board for King County Metro, in charge of route revisions for the Eastside.

There he met Franz Loewenherz, a senior transportation planner at the city of Bellevue.

Loewenherz was immediately impressed with Warwick’s knowledge and passion. “He has a very firm understanding of the

Warwick has expanded his political activity over the years. He’s involved in the 48th District Democrats, as well as his runs for Transportation Commission and East Bellevue Community Council. He speaks with the composure of an elected official, steering questions and conversations in the directions he feels comfortable. His friends and colleagues can see him as a politician.

With 2011 at its close, the Reporter is taking a look back at the best that was in the world of Bellevue area sports and recreation.

There were a bevy of accomplished, qualified student-athletes in Bellevue in 2011.

But the numbers, records, accomplishments and humble attitude give Jordan Todd the edge for Male Athlete of the Year.

Five touchdowns in the first half of a rivalry game, another five scores with the team’s back against the wall to move on in the playoffs and a 359 yard game against the eventual state champions to break the state rushing record by five yards are only a few of Todd’s more mind-boggling feats.

Todd laid claim to the most prolific total in state history with 2,681 yards in 2011, passing Ferndale’s Matthias Wilson, who set the mark with 2,676 in 1997 in 14 games.

He carried the ball 20 times or more in eight of the Saints’ 12 games, gaining 100 yards or more on nine occasions, 200 or more eight times and 300-plus three times, with a season-best of 432 in the playoff win over Franklin-Pierce.

All the while, Todd remained the same unassuming, humble teammate those around the Interlake program have come to know throughout his prep career.

“As the season went on, there were people asking about records and numbers and it didn’t matter to him,” Interlake coach Jason Rimkus said of Todd. “He helps those around him get better by who he is as a person.”

It was three seasons and three trips across the Cascades for state in 2011 for Bellevue Christian senior Bree Oldham, the Reporter’s Female Athlete of the Year.

Oldham began 2011 by helping the Vikings back to the state tournament for the seventh straight season, ending with a fifth place finish after a 2-2 record with wins over Rainier and Granger to begin the tournament.

During the spring she took an even larger role in her team’s success and captured a pair of 1A state titles to lead the Vikings to a third straight 1A team state championship. Oldham won her second straight 300 meter hurdles and broke her own school record in the process (44.88), keeping the title in her family after elder sister Terra brought home the trophy in 2009.

In the 1,600 meter relay, she teamed with Bridget Ralson, Noel Crosby and Meredith Lampe to bring home another state title by nearly twoseconds over the runner-up.

The final sports season of the calendar year brought us to the fall and again brought Oldham to Eastern Washington for a state competition, this time in cross country. The only participant for the Vikings, Oldham finished in 40th place after gaining her entry by finishing 21st at the district meet.

The Wolverines captured a fourth straight Class 3A state title to make it nine since 2001 and second four-peat in the same span.

Bellevue’s run is unprecedented in WIAA history and it is the only school to win three or more consecutive state championships in football in any classification. While the historical significance was not lost on players or coaches, the merits of this season alone are what give the Wolverines the edge for Team of the Year.

Consider the following: Bellevue faced three teams that were ranked in at least one national poll in Oaks Christian (Calif.), Skyline and Lakes and defeated each, none by fewer than 10 points.

Skyline quarterback Max Browne was intercepted only five times all year in leading his team to the 4A state title and earning Gatorade Player of the Year for Washington.

Against Bellevue, he tossed two of those five picks, one that was returned for a score. For the season, Browne tossed a ridiculous 43 touchdowns, but he managed only a single scoring pass against the Wolverines.

Lakes averaged 53 points in 11 games leading up to the state quarterfinal matchup with Bellevue and scored 60plus five times. The Lancers managed only 14 in the only loss of the year to the Wolverines.

When the news first came out that Bellevue Christian would begin a football program in 2011 and compete against a varsity schedule, it was tough to imagine what the product would look like on the field.

But with longtime youth coach Greg Schneider at the helm, a group that is familiar with success in a variety of other sports and in many cases has competed together for several years, the Vikings surpassed any and all expectations with a 5-4 mark, including a pair of wins over Northwest Christian (Lacey) and Evergreen (Seattle) to open the season.

Players called the school support “breathtaking” as around 1,200 spectators took in the season opener.

KIRK TAVENER - INTERLAKE GIRLS SOCCER Leaving a school after back-to-back state tournament appearances is never an easy call, but Kirk Tavener knew it was the right one to make.

After leading the Lindbergh girls on consecutive trips to the 3A girls soccer state tournament, the first trip to state for the school in nearly a decade, Tavener had an opportunity to come back to Interlake, where he had previously spent time with the boys and girls programs.

Before 2011, Interlake had not captured a state championship in a team sport since John Olderud led the Saints to a 4A baseball crown in 1986.

But this time around, the job required far more than basic Xs and Os. With an infusion of talent in the form of club soccer standout Isabel Farrell, coach Kirk Tavener returned to Interlake this year and led his team all the way to the trophy, besting Cedarcrest at Shoreline Stadium 1-0.

Before that was a regular season that saw the Saints post a 10-3-1 record in conference after beginning the year with an eight game winning streak.

At the behest of Tavener, the defense took over down the stretch as keeper Catie Getzendaner, along with defenders Desiree Domini, Courtney Fedor, Tara Ghassemikia and Sarah Williams became only the third defensive group since 1997 (and second since the tournament expanded to four rounds in 2001) to keep the scoreboard stuck on zero on the route to a 2A tournament championship.

“I had an amazing defense in front of me,” Getzendaner said. “I honestly didn’t even get that many chances.”

Getzendaner and the Interlake defense recorded five straight shutouts to end the year, all in playoff games. In total, the Saints allowed only 20 goals in 21 games.

While the defensive strategy was no doubt crucial to the team’s success, it was Tavener’s ability to meld his team as a unit that ultimately earned Interlake a state championship.

The Saints had a quartet of elite-level club soccer players at the school prior to this season, but none of the four had ever turned out for the prep team until this year. That group included 2011 conference MVP in Farrell and three other main contributors with national and high level club experience.

Rather than allowing animosity over the newcomers develop, Tavener established a family atmosphere around the team and got all of his players to buy-in to the notion that they could have success with a blend of new and old.

“We are a family,” Farrell Grand Opening said. “I think it means more to these girls than any other team in the state. This is huge for Interlake especially.”

Taking a baseball to the face from point-blank range would be enough to persuade most athletes to stay off the diamond.

Not Jake Wilson.

Now a senior, Wilson rebounded from a devastating injury during his sophomore campaign to power the Saints all the way to the state tournament and finish among the conference leaders in several offensive statistical categories in the process in 2011.

The comeback is even more remarkable considering Wilson spent seven hours in surgery to repair three avulsed teeth, a fractured palatal plate and a shattered buccal plate of the pre-maxilla. “The biggest thing was wondering if I’d be able to come back out on the field emotionally,� Wilson said. “But I felt way more comfortable than I thought I would.�

Foregoing his final football season due to the injury, Wilson teamed with standout golfers Andrew Kennedy, Patrick Sato, Andy Liu, Sam Fisher, Chandler Hawk and Grant Cole to complete an undefeated regular season and win the KingCo Medalist Tournament, more than 20 strokes ahead of crosstown rivals Bellevue and Sammamish.

Wilson will be back on the diamond for head coach Marc Linn and the Saints in the spring of 2012 as the team tries to make consecutive appearances at state in baseball for the first time since 1992-93.

When I first heard about Tyvan Schmidt, I was more curious than anything. I received word that there was a local lacrosse player who was also doing outstanding work in the Sammamish High School glass blowing program, a one-ofa-kind in the area and wanted to find out more about how such an eclectic pairing of interests came together.

Little did I know that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Schmidt was one of the leading goal scorers in D-II for the his state runner-up squad from Sammamish Lacrosse Club, mixing an effective blend of awareness and speed to evade more physical defenders. “I’m not the biggest guy,� Schmidt said. “But I’m quick.�

In addition to his work on the field, Schmidt was a member of the Sammamish High School choir for his senior year after harboring a passion for music throughout his life.

He is one of the many students who have found a niche in the school’s glass blowing program as well, creating countless works of art that have been put on display for peers and faculty to admire.

But the accolades and creative skills are only part of what make Schmidt the Reporter’s Person of the Year.

After completing his own community service requirement for graduation, Schmidt spent some additional time at a daycare program through the Salvation Army to both continue giving back and offer some company to a friend who was still in need of some hours.

Sammamish Lacrosse Club, which registers players who attend Newport, Interlake and Sammamish High Schools, has a built-in youth program. Schmidt couldn’t resist a chance to give something back to the game that offered so many opportunities to him, spending time teaching the next generation of lacrosse players the ins and outs of the game.

There were events that carried deeper playoff implications and featured more recognizable faces during 2011, but none came with the same collective success as the 3A KingCo cross country meet.

On the boys side, Bellevue’s John Fowler finished in 15:54.71 to bring home the individual title, but he was far from alone as six Wolverines finished in the top eight spots.

Teammate Ryan Long was second, Addison Woolsey fourth, Will Sheeran fifth, Spike Sievert seventh and Nick MacLean eighth. Kyle Pratt added a 12th place finish as Bellevue ran away with the team scoring, nearly 70 points in front of second-place Liberty. “He works hard, encourages his teammates and loves what he does,� Bellevue coach John Hill said. “It’s kind of a confirmation of how these guys train with each other and for each other. It’s just a thrill.�

For the Bellevue girls, Julia Ellings finished in third place and Vandan Kasar was 20th.

And it wasn’t just the clan from Wolverine Way getting in on the act.

Sammamish saw the most successful track and field season in some time, according to coaches Jedd Danielsen and Carrie Holmes and never was that more evident than at the KingCo meet.

Freshman Nick Martin ended the race in sixth place and Hank Tea finished in 20th to help the Totems to a fourth place finish in the team scoring, good enough to send an entire team of seven to the district meet.

It was a freshman stealing the show on the girls side as well, with Pascale de Sa E Silva ending the day in second place. Seniors Laynee Viniotis and Liz Green passed the proverbial torch to de Sa E Silva, with Viniotis finishing in 16th to cap an outstanding day of performances from Bellevue area runners.

Comments sought on Bellevue stormwater program Residents will have an opportunity to comment on the draft 2012 Stormwater Management Program during the Environmental Services Commission meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Bellevue must submit a stormwater management program document each year to the state Department of Ecology. It describes actions the city will take in the upcoming year to protect water quality through the permitting process.

Tax break offered at Goodwill People who want to lower their tax bill and help people at the same time are being asked to donate to Goodwill. To get the tax break, the clothing, books, shoes, toys, electronics, furniture or anything else that they’re not using it needs to be donated by Dec. 31. Everything given is tax-deductible because Goodwill is a nonprofit organization and every donor can receive a tax receipt.

Goodwill sells the donations in its 21 nonprofit retail thrift stores throughout the central and northern Puget Sound region and uses the net proceeds to offer free classes to people who need training.

George Sukol

A funeral service for

George Sukol, a longtime resident of Bellevue, will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 30 at Butterworth Funeral Home, 520 West Raye St., Seattle.

Mr. Sukol died Dec. 21.

Mr. Sukol was a retired postal worker in Bellevue.

Jennifer, a 6-year-old female tuxedo kitty, has patiently been awaiting her new home with the Purrfect Pals Cat Shelter for nearly two years. We’re not sure why this sweetheart keeps getting passed up, Jennifer but we do know that she’s ready to find her forever home. Jennifer gets along well with other mellow kitties, but young, active cats might be too much for her. She is up for adoption at Purrfect Pals Cat Shelter’s offsite adoption center inside Bellevue Petsmart (100 108th Ave N.E, near Toys ‘R Us).

...obituaries Frank M. Gough

At the age of 79, Frank passed peacefully of liver cancer at home on December 20, 2011. He was born to Helen and Clifford Gough April 26, 1932 in Sweets Mining Camp, Sweets, Utah, which has now disappeared from the map.

Frank served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Confl ict and his true passions were hunting and fishing which he excelled at. He was an avid fisherman from the time he picked up a rod and reel. He hunted the high hills of Utah at an early age and continued on to adulthood. Many knew Frank as a man of excellent work ethics and a good sense of humor.

Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Sharron, with whom they had 5 children. Alan (deceased), Sharra (deceased), Lisa, Jan and Jill, and 4 grandchildren, Khayla, A.J., Chandler and Shane. His greatest achievement in life was achieving the status of “GREAT” father, husband, grandfather, brother, son and friend. He is survived by his second wife, Jody and daughters Kelly and Terry, and brother Brooks.

Frank gave many loving hours to the Kirkland First Baptist Church over the years and was an active member of the Rotary Club of Bellevue Overlake. His medical problems in later years curbed his volunteering efforts. In Lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Bellevue Overlake Rotary and the Harbor Club 777 N.E. 8th Ave. Bellevue, WA 98004. For the many lives that Frank touched, a celebration of his life will be held on January 7, 2012, at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church 701 First Ave., Kirkland, WA 98083. Lunch to follow the memorial service.
