Women's Business March is Women’s History Month

In 1981, Congress passed a resolution that established National Women’s History Week. The National Women’s History Project requested expanding the week to a month in1987, which was granted by Congress. The next project on the agenda is a National Museum of Women’s History. Station Bistro

1776: Mary Katherine Goddard was the first woman publisher in America. 1767: Anne Catherine Hoof Green was the first woman to run a print shop. 1795: Anne Parrish established the House of Industry in Philadelphia, the first charitable organization for women in America. 1809: Mary Kies was the first woman to receive a patent for a method of weaving straw with silk. 1849: Elizabeth Blackwell was the first American woman to receive a medical degree.

Pat & Jim Ellis bought the store from Scott Gosney in 1986. With Jim working at Boeing, Pat ran the store with daughter, Lee. Other daughter, Sandy, runs the Auburn License Agency.
