A Message from the Mayor
Welcome to Auburn, a 120 year old city that is young at heart. This community of almost 70,000 people, with a service area of a quarter of a million, understands its role as a community center in the middle of two counties, yet still believes in its heart of hearts that it is a small town. Welcome to Auburn, the arts and entertainment center of two counties with the largest outdoor amphitheater, largest horse-racing track, largest casino, live theater and a real live Main Street. Auburn is the land of two rivers, thirty minutes to the sky slopes, ten minutes from water skiing and thirty minutes from the ocean.

Welcome to the Auburn School District! The district is centrally located between Seattle and Tacoma, at the center of the Green River Valley of South King County. The district encompasses approximately 60 square miles and serves a population of 70,000 residents. More than 14,600 students attend Auburn’s 22 schools. The district strives for academic excellence.
