Media & Technology Specialist Full time position Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (or equivalent highly relevant experience) Areas of Focus: Environment and Ecology; Wildlife and Animal Welfare; Conservation Salary: $ DOE, exempt/salaried position with full benefits and opportunity for advancement Last date to apply: 28 May 2011; interviews to be conducted in early June The Media & Technology Specialist will work to promote Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s mission of ocean conservation. He or she will be involved in local, national, & international media projects. Description: Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is the world’s most effective marine wildlife conservation organization. This role requires a detail oriented, self-starting individual who is technologically proficient in a variety of media tools including audio/video/still editing software & systems. You must also possesses excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to manage media assets for distribution to external & internal sources, post website updates, manage archives, help with social networking/media, meet deadlines under pressure and on schedule, and will be on call at times. Prior experience working for a non-profit organization (preferred) and must be comfortable with the controversial nature of Sea Shepherd’s direct action methods.
