CITY OF COVINGTON NOTICES COVINGTON CITY COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TUESDAY, APRIL 26, 2011 – 7:00 PM NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Covington City Council will a hold a public hearing on MultiCare Covington Medical Center Notice of Appeal requesting relief from CMC 12.115.010, which prohibits excavation in City streets that have been newly paved less than five years, at their regular meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., to be held in the Council Chambers at Covington City Hall, 16720 S.E. 271st Street, Covington, WA. The purpose of this public hearing is for the City Council to receive comments from the public, both written and oral, regarding MultiCare Covington Medical Center’s ability cut into SE Wax Road to install sanitary sewer and rechannelize improvements associated with the relocation of their commercial driveway access. MultiCare is appealing the Public Works Director’s decision and requesting relief from the regulations as set forth in CMC 12.115-Excavation in City Streets, which prohibits cuts or excavations within any City street for a period of five years from the date of installation of the final lift of asphalt. The City Council is scheduled to discuss, review, and take final action on the Notice of Appeal at the April 26, 2011 meeting.
