last time PNW!

Welcome to the FINAL Espresso Publication of the 2025-2026 Service Year. It’s been an honor to serve as your District Editor and I hope you enjoy your last publication from me. I also hope that every single one of you found The Espresso publications helpful and fun to read through. Myself and the rest of the District Board work extremely hard to publish these quarterly and they include lots of personal stories in addition to important news. Releasing these quarterly most definitely challenged me as there are multiple graphics necessary in addition to me writing articles towards The Espresso. I came into my term knowing that my creativity will be pushed but The Espresso took more initiative than I expected. However, every single time, seeing the finished results, I am proud to see how it turned out. It’s somewhat unreal this is my last Espr tion will serve you well.

Hello, PNW Key Clubbers! Hello, PNW Key Clubbers!
As the 2025-2026 service year concludes, I am grateful for the many learning opportunities presented by Key Club—those that I have experienced, and those that are afforded to each individual Key Club member. Throughout our time in Key Club, I find it is important to always remember the purpose of our organization: to provide opportunities for individuals to develop leadership through the vehicle of service.

Throughout our time in Key Club, I find it is important to always remember the purpose of our organization: to provide opportunities for individuals to develop leadership through the vehicle of service.
With the conclusion of the service year, I encourage you to take a moment to “reset.” It is incredibly important to take time to consider the purpose for our actions and commitments to think about what we want to do next and how it serves our greater goals. Key Club should be a space for this type of preparation, as it provides crucial learning opportunities, but to fully benefit from these moments, we must first identify the type of person the type of leader we each want to be.

This year, we reached full capacity with 1,600 attendees, representing 34 divisions from across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and British Columbia. Seeing members from every corner of the PNW gather in one space was nothing short of extraordinary. From the first meet and greet meal to the final goodbyes, the memories made at DCON makes it one of the best weekends of the year.

We proudly awarded 45 different awards, recognizing an incredible year of service, leadership, and dedication.

Each award represented the heart of our district, students committed to making a difference in their schools and communities. Along with that, one of the most defining moments of the convention was electing our next District Board. Watching leaders step forward and witnessing the trust placed in them by this district for my fourth year was inspiring. With their passion and vision, I am confident we will continue with another prosperous and impactful year for PNW.

Although our time at the 76th Annual District Convention has come to a close, the spirit of DCON doesn’t stop here. The 77th Annual District Convention, will take place March 19–21, 2027, in Seattle, Washington. We are thrilled to announce that the convention will be moving back to the Hyatt Regency Seattle in 2027. This classic PNW venue will elevate your experience with spacious meeting rooms all under one roof, and convenient access to the heart of downtown Seattle. The February 1st deadline will arrive sooner than you think, so start your countdown now!

Hey Key Clubbers, how do you

I’ve been in Key Club for four whole years, and I have had plenty of time to think about what Key Club is really about. If you were to search it up on Google, you’d find that Key Club is “the oldest and largest international, student-led high school service organization.” This definition is factually correct, but if you ask anybody who has been in this organization as long as I have, I think the answer lies in how I have seen my friends, peers, and club members grow in service and leadership.

en I ran for Bulletin Editor in my first Key Club election, I was absolutely mortified to speak in front of an audience. I held my speech in my hand, trembling, feeling incredibly self-concious about what people thought about me. Now, I have no problem hosting service events that hold hundreds of people across my Division. Key Club shapes leaders, bringing them to their full potential, all through an amazing cause: community service. As I look back on these four years, I know that there is no organization I would rather have been a part of. While you were out serving your communities, I was behind the keyboard spreading the word of you through www.pnwkeyclub.org. Here’s a quick log of what we shaped this year:

With your RMHC team, we updated the new Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) landing page to give information and track resources and partnership goals. We also built and launched the dedicated site for DCON 2026, collecting all the information and registration you need for the convention.

As the 2025–2026 service year comes to an end, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank every member who supported Ronald McDonald House Charities. Your dedication, compassion, and willingness to serve made an incredible difference. Because of your efforts, our district was able to raise $5,378 and contribute 9,568 hours of service toward supporting families through RMHC.

$5,378
Raised by our District
Throughout this year, our committee focused on creating resources that would make it easier for clubs to get involved and make an impact. One of our proudest accomplishments was launching the RMHC Toolkit, which provides clubs with the resources and ideas needed to support the project. We also created a promotional video to help spread awareness about RMHC and the families it supports. More recently, we launched the RMHC 101 slideshow, a resource designed to help clubs introduce and promote the project wit education about RMHC

9,568

In addition, each division was given both a service hour goal and a monetary goal to help guide their efforts throughout the year. These goals were meant to inspire divisions while also helping our district reach its overall impact.
I would like to recognize the divisions that met and surpassed their service hour goals: 13/15/17, 21, 32, 33, 56, 64, and 65. I would also like to highlight the divisions that met and surpassed their monetary goals: 19, 20i, 46, 48, and 58. Your dedication truly stood out, and your efforts helped push this project forward in meaningful ways.

Check out our YouTube for more videos about RMHC!
I am incredibly proud of every division that contributed to this project this year. Service is never just about numbers. It is about the families who feel supported, the communities that grow stronger, and the difference that young people can make when they come together for a cause bigger than themselves. Thank you all for your hard work, your passion for service, and for supporting RMHC throughout this service year.

-HUM-HUM MUK MUK DISTRIC PROJE

Thank you to our District Project Committee for their work this Service Year!
Something special that I learned: really connect with the people around you, because you never know the incredible friendships you could make; you just need to take the small risk of stepping forward And it doesn’t apply to just Key Club…
-Aditya Venkat, LTG of D27

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. You are surrounded by likeminded people and kind adults Don’t see asking questions as a weakness. See it as taking initiative to better yourself as an LTG and otherwise!
-Julianne Wong , LTG of D13/15/17
Leadership isn’t a role, it’s a mindset. Great leaders aren’t great because they have a natural ability, they’re great because they keep working towards their goals, no matter what! We all can be leaders, if you look at opportunities instead of failures.
-Addie Sanborn, LTG of D82
For those who are looking to hold leadership roles, think OUTSIDE of the box! Just because there are certain traditions that your school has been doing, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be changed or that you can’t start your own ideas and initiatives
-Andy Vo, LTG of D38

Be friendly to everyone You never know when someone might become a great friend, or an incredible person you might connect with later down the road
-Luong Nguyen, LTG of D66

Thank you for your 11 years of service!

It is hard to believe another year of Key Club service is coming to an end, and a new year is about to begin. I want to personally thank all of the members, officers, and advisors that helped make the 2025-2026 service year a successful one. For example, we recorded nearly 10,000 service hours for Ronald McDonald House Charities and raised almost $5,378 to support families with ill children. In addition, we welcomed nearly 1,600 attendees to Portland for DCON 2026 and welcomed 223 new members in 8 Key Clubs, which will result in more hands for service. Finally, 13 Key Clubs received service grants through the Pacific Northwest Opportunities Fund that totaled $7,551. If you missed the opportunity to apply for a service grant, please consider doing so before October 1, 2026. Additional information about the next round of grants will be available this summer.
Speaking of summer, it is not uncommon for Key Clubs to get into a funk as the school year ends and attendance dwindles. It is never too late to turn things around by focusing on club achievements, creating positive social media posts that encourage non-members to see what your club is all about, and attending the 2026 Key Club International Convention, June 29-July 5. I would also encourage clubs to consider inviting their new lieutenant governor to a meeting so they can bond with members before summer begins. As the old saying goes, “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” If you haven’t met your new lieutenant governor yet, please visit www.pnwkeyclub.org to obtain their contact information and learn more about new resources that will be unveiled during the 2026-2027 service year including new content for officer training conferences and additional workshops at Key Club Days. It has been a pleasure serving as your District Administrator for the past 11 years and I am proud of everything PNW has done to help keep Key Club the largest and best student-led service organization in the world.

The Kiwanis-Family Relations Committee has not hosted a similar alumni event since before COVID-19 and we were excited to start this tradition again!

Our agenda primarily focused on free time for everyone to socialize but we also had some structured activities for attendees. We had Key Club trivia questions focusing on PNW Key Club and Key Club International as a whole, with gift cards as prizes. PNW Key Club District Administrator Brian Egger spoke about our successes over his eleven-year tenure as District Administrator and District Governor Gavin Ahumada spoke about our goals for this service year and progress that we had made on them.

Recently, I was inspired by the 1,600 Key Clubbers who joined us at DCON 2026 in Portland, Oregon. With the theme “Swinging into Service,” it was certainly a memorable convention. Our keynote speaker, John Beede, delivered messages that sparked motivation in the audience during our Opening Session, while Carmen Dianne performed exceptional music as our entertainer. Mega Forum speaker Aaron Golub delivered messages of resilience, and the many other presenters throughout the weekend during workshops, seminars, and other events, provided abundant opportunities for Key Clubbers to learn and grow.

I loved looking through the PNW Instagram account and seeing all of your AMAZING graphics and promotional reels. It’s honestly great to see the love for service within our District and I believe it’s why PNW is so special.
With DCON having been this past weekend, I wanted to say a thank you to everyone who attended my two workshops: the Editor/Webmaster Workshop, and the How to be Key Club Famous Workshop. There were multiple workshops offered throughout this weekend and I hope you all found them impactful. It was honestly so amazing to Key-nnect with so many people this weekend and celebrate this year full of service. It was great to see people recognized during the Closing Ceremony for their dedication to service and I’m excited to see what you all accomplish this upcoming Service Year.

I can’t believe that this is the last Executive Update I will be writing, so I want to take this opportunity to say how grateful I am to have been able to serve this district as a member and as an Executive Officer. The passion that grows throughout this organization is truly so special and I’ll never forget it’s impact on my life.
