THE WIN

DISCIPLES MAKING DISCIPLES

ON-CAMPUS

Coaches and athletes on college, high school and middle school campuses are being empowered to take the Gospel to their peers by leading Huddles where they gather regularly to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. The win of a Huddle is to empower key leaders to create an environment in the sports community where the Gospel is made known and lived out through intentional conversation.

OFF-CAMPUS Where coaches and athletes are, FCA seeks to be relevant and present in these environments. The culture of sports has changed. The majority of athletes and coaches are competing off-campus through clubs, leagues, tournaments and in non-traditional environments. Regardless of the environment, the win remains the same: disciples making disciples.

DEAR CHAMPIONS, Something is happening in sports right now.

Coaches and athletes have always had a platform, but the platform itself has changed. They no longer speak through anyone. With social media and the new era of name, image and likeness, athletes talk straight to their audiences, with no filter or gatekeeper in between. The voices of coaches and athletes carry farther and hit deeper than they ever have before. Here is what is remarkable: Faith is welcome on that platform. In a national survey last year, a majority of sports fans said they support athletes talking openly about their faith and only about one in ten were opposed. Faith is showing up on the podium, in the locker room, on the sidelines and in live post-game interviews. We are in a significant moment. But the people watching from the stands, and the athletes on the field, are not okay. Two in five high school students now report persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness. One in five teenagers is living with anxiety and one in five high schoolers seriously considered suicide in the past year. When they reach for help, most of them do not find it. Sports is one of the largest mission fields in the country. It is also one of its loudest cries for help. The very platform that could point a generation to Jesus sits right on top of a generation that is hurting. This is the exact moment FCA was built for. Our mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. That is the one thing we exist to do. And for more than seventy years, we have pursued it by building an army of disciple-makers. What I hope you will read and discover in our Annual Report is that in this moment, we are looking to fuel the movement through a strategy of people, places and programs. The only way that any of this will happen at any real scale is through coaches and athletes who have been discipled, are being discipled and are now discipling others. This is just the beginning.

A CHANGED HEART The Testimony of Nate Gray Jr.

10

Before I met Christ, I was lost. I didn’t know who I was or what my purpose was and my identity was completely rooted in sports. Sports were all I knew —weekend tournaments, practices during the week, always watching. I grew up in a nontraditional Christian household, going to church only a couple of times a year because we usually had games on Sundays. The main exposure I had to faith was praying at night with my mother. Throughout high school I was known as “the athlete,” and I made a lot of poor decisions because I thought it would make me look cool. I didn’t truly know what it meant to follow Christ, and I struggled with confidence and with handling adversity in sports and in everyday life. After high school, I attended Lower Columbia College to keep playing baseball. That fall was eye-opening. I faced challenges within my family I never thought I’d have to deal with. During that time I started attending Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where I met Kane Ulrich, who took me under his wing and began mentoring me. That fall was also the first time I boldly stepped forward in my faith in front of my FCA Huddle — a huge moment in my walk with Christ.

By the grace of God, He led me to Whitworth University for my senior year—the best decision I’ve ever made. Surrounding myself with teammates, coaches and friends who shared the same beliefs had a tremendous impact. One of the biggest turning points was joining an accountability group with some of my teammates, where we learned what it truly means to be a man of God—holding each other accountable for how often we opened the Bible, journaled and lived in purity. Whitworth ultimately led me to get baptized and I got to share that moment on the baseball field with my teammates and coaches. Since giving my life to the Lord, I’ve found a deep sense of peace. My walk hasn’t been a perfectly straight path — there are days I don’t read the Bible, days I don’t pray enough, days I’m quick to anger—and that's part of the beauty of it, because His love for me never changes. I’m committed to becoming the best man of God I can be, living to imitate His character of love, humility and service every day for the rest of my life.

But even after moving away to continue school and baseball, I was still living on the fence as a lukewarm Christian. I thought I loved the Lord but in reality, I loved the things of the world more.

A Clean Slate Becomes a Movement Like many ministries after the pandemic, our Seattle Collegiate Ministry began with a blank canvas. That season became a gift—the chance to reimagine what God was building among student-athletes across the city. We set out to help athletes reclaim their identity: not first as competitors but as men and women made in God's image, called to be disciples of Jesus who make disciples wherever they compete. Over five years, God has grown this ministry through faithful volunteers serving across University of Washington (UW), Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University and Northwest University. This year, that growth extended to our staff: Hunter Bryant as UW Football Chaplain, Payton Bingley as Area Representative and Adrienne Poling as social media coordinator and discipler at Seattle Pacific. The evidence of what God is doing is unmistakable. When UW Women’s Soccer faced the unthinkable loss of their senior goalkeeper to cancer, our staff had the privilege of walking alongside these women in grief. A powerful reminder of what a ministry of presence truly means. But the clearest picture came when six athletes from different UW teams publicly declared their faith and were baptized in front of teammates and peers who would never normally set foot in a church service. Watching teammates show up — not for a game, but to witness a decision of a lifetime — was worship in its purest form. What God is building here is undeniable. When staff have the vision to focus entirely on discipleship, they multiply themselves. They build deep roots. Student-athletes encounter Jesus through leaders who are fully present, fully committed and fully alive to the mission. We are eager for what God has in store this next year. And we can only imagine what He might do over the next five years, as we continue pursuing every athlete and every coach, on every campus and every team. FCA is set to remain faithful to the city of Seattle and the hearts of collegiate athletes.

FROM BUDAPEST TO GRANADA FCA International Strategy in Action - By Torry Mowatt FCA’s International Strategy is simple: empower indigenous leaders around the world to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Christ and His church. That strategy came to life at a breakfast buffet in Budapest. I met Davíd over eggs and coffee. He and his wife Ellen live in Málaga, Spain, using basketball and swimming to reach people for Christ. Over three days together, we prayed and dreamed about hosting a basketball camp in his hometown of Granada. Three weeks later, Davíd came to our PNW Multi-Sport Camp in Idaho. He saw the FCA Playbook in action. We trained him in every aspect of running a camp. In July 2026, God’s faithfulness met Davíd’s obedience through a basketball camp just 20 minutes from Granada in Cúllar Vega, Spain. Fifty athletes. Many heard and accepted the Gospel for the first time. But it didn’t stop there. That camp opened doors throughout Spain. An influential fútbol coach six hours away reached out: “Will you come teach us about this Jesus you’re talking about?” The answer: YES and AMEN.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED FCA International produces fruit when we lean in and become available and intentional when seeking people of peace. Davíd and Torry believe that God delights in obedience over sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). When we obey God's calling, His plan is unstoppable. You also can be available and intentional by joining us as we PRAY, GIVE, GO: PRAY for indigenous leaders reaching their nations. GIVE towards camps and outreach events like the one in Spain. GO to serve (coaching, volunteering, mentoring). One breakfast meeting. One faithful leader. One basketball camp. Now an entire nation is hearing about Jesus. What God wants to do internationally is limited only by our willingness to be available and intentional. TORRY’S FAMILY MEETING UP WITH DAVID

EVERY MEANS EVERY - All Ability FCA’s mission is clear: lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. Every means every. A few years ago, Greater Portland FCA made that commitment concrete. They hired their first All Ability Representive to ensure coaches and athletes with disabilities weren't overlooked. That person is Israel Rutherford. Israel grew up in the church, but as an athlete, his weekends belonged to sports. Faith and athletics felt like competing demands. Then in high school, his baseball coach — an FCA guy — began discipling him. That coach showed Israel something revolutionary: his identity wasn't tied to his performance. It was rooted in being a child of God. Everything shifted. Faith and sports were no longer in conflict. After college, Israel connected with Unified, a club bringing people with and without disabilities together through sports. He felt truly alive. But something was missing: sharing Christ’s love. “I wanted them to know they are loved unconditionally by God and that their value wasn't defined by their abilities but by who they are in Christ.” Through FCA’s All Ability ministry, that vision became possible. In Cowlitz County, there is now an annual All Ability Camp seeking to serve coaches, athletes, parents and caretakers. At All Ability Camp, when coaches gathered the kids in circles, something shifted. They sat down, looked up and listened. In those moments, they heard the Gospel and understood: You are seen. You matter. Jesus loves you. But the impact went deeper. While campers participated, FCA gathered parents and caregivers. A father spoke directly to the other dads: “I see you. There are not a lot of dads still in the picture for these kids, and I want to honor you all.” Invisible parents became visible. Isolated caregivers found community. Everyone encountered Christ together. “Faith and sports are two areas where people with disabilities are often overlooked,” Israel says. “Yet these areas have deeply shaped my life.” He’s ensuring no one is left on the sidelines. Making sure “every” actually means every.

14

Israel Rutherford ALL ABILITY AREA REPRESENTATIVE

At its core, FCA Sports exists — as the authors of the book “Away Game” state — “to stop outsourcing the discipleship of our kids solely to the culture of sports.” I learned this the hard way. I quit the sport I loved because of a bad coaching experience. When it was gone, I asked myself repeatedly: “Who am I?” My identity for over a decade had been built on my place on a roster, not in Christ. When it was all over, I didn’t know who I was without it. It took years to find my true purpose — in Christ, in community. Had FCA Sports existed when I was a young athlete, I’m convinced that identity crisis wouldn’t have happened. That’s why we exist: to create environments where young athletes’ faith grows alongside their sport, where they become what “Away Game” calls “influencers whose spiritual goals transcend athletic metrics.” And that’s why we must get younger, stay longer. We can engage a child at four years old playing soccer, walk with them through middle and high school, and eventually have them serve with us in college. Then, one day have their own kids play for FCA Sports.

GET YOUNGER STAY LONGER Abby Minnieweather

Our five environments work together to make that possible: Camps and Clinics pair skill development with spiritual formation. Leagues give us full control of the ministry environment. Clubs visibly express our brand and mission. Tournaments extend our reach. Facilities are where total life transformation happens. Every environment can finds its home there.

15

In the PNW, FCA Sports is Built Different. Our five philosophies — High Accountability, High Praise, High Character, High Development, Relationships Matter — set us apart. Kids today hear “self, self, self.” We teach “Christ, Christ, Christ.” We use sport to point them to Jesus. Through Church Connected Leagues, FCA’s mission to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ reaches families who may never step foot in a church. For 90 minutes a week, they're engaged through the Gospel and served by the Church. A seven-year-old might leave baseball practice and go home to tell their parents: “God loves you. Sin separated you. Jesus saved you. You can choose Him.” We may be the only place where a kid hears the Gospel and brings home a Bible. We may be the catalyst for household transformation. Wins are great. But a seven-year-old discipling their parents? That's a win that exceeds any scoreboard. As Kevin DeYoung says,

“Sports can be a waste of time, a wasteland of vice, or an oasis of God-glorifying people and principles.” I believe FCA Sports can be that oasis. Because I know what it feels like to lose yourself when the game is over. And I believe we have an opportunity to help the next generation know — long before their playing days end — that their identity was never found in the game. It was always found in Christ.

COACHING MORE THAN SKILL FCA SPORTS - IDAHO FCA’s approach to clubs is built around engaging, equipping and empowering families. Coaches are trained through our E3 discipleship strategy so they’re not only teaching skills, they’re modeling Christ-like leadership. The culture of the league encourages kids to be real, to play with purpose and to embrace values like “others first” and “team over self.” We always say we want to be first in the race to a child’s heart and FCA Sports is the vehicle to get there earlier. Coaches and athletes constantly face an identity crisis, but Coach Josh Schroeder is working to make sure it never happens to the boys he coaches.

Josh has been coaching baseball for years. Starting with the University of San Diego Club Baseball after college, Little League for his own son and assistant roles on competitive club programs. It wasn’t until he joined FCA Sports that he understood the deeper opportunity in front of him. “I was asked by someone I had coached Little League with to join FCA and coach our sons as part of a new 9U program,” Josh explains. “I loved the opportunity to coach for a solid program and to share Jesus with our group of boys.” What he didn’t expect was how much it would transform him.

17

A Different Type of Coaching Josh has always believed in development over results, but FCA Sports added something he didn’t know was missing: intentional discipleship woven into coaching. “It’s challenged me to grow deeper in my walk with Christ, to read and study the Bible more,” Josh explains. The club sports industry chases trophies and stats. FCA flipped that — prioritizing faith over performance. Now Josh tells his teams: “Whether we succeed or fail, Jesus still loves you. He's with you throughout your practices, games and life.” That message has changed everything. “I’m more confident sharing my faith and helping the boys understand that they can call on Jesus throughout everything,” he says.

Why This Matters Now The pressure on young athletes has become almost unrecognizable. “Kids are being streamed online at eight years old. Their stats are public. GameChanger has every play recorded. They're being treated like big leaguers when they're still in elementary school,” Josh says. “It’s honestly wild and sad.”

“That’s where FCA comes in,” Josh explains. “FCA brings a recognition that those things aren’t everything and aren’t nearly as important. We prioritize developing youth in their walk with Christ, their development as athletes and as human beings.” “My son has grown so much in his walk with Christ and in his confidence. He now understands that his worth comes from God's love, not his performance.” - Coach Josh

An Invitation Josh’s why for coaching is simple: “God blessed me with the ability to lead players in their lives through the sport of baseball. The more I get out of the way and let Him work through me, the better everything develops — spiritually, athletically and personally. I coach so I can connect with players and let God’s light shine through me to others.” For coaches and parents watching from the sidelines, his invitation is clear: “Take the step and become part of FCA. It will change your life for the better. The impact you can have on these youth is something rarely found outside this organization. It’s truly remarkable how much the kids grow, and it’s very rewarding to be part of.” This is what getting younger and staying longer looks like. A coach who understands that identity isn’t found in performance. A child who learns that truth at nine, not thirty. A movement that reaches families the church might never otherwise encounter.

He notes parents and coaches are “constantly chasing results, appearance, trophies and stats, putting so much emphasis on these kids.” The message is clear: your worth is your performance.

APRIL DIRKSEN

TRI-CITIES ALL ABILITY DIRECTOR

I’m most excited to see lives changed through faith, relationships, sports and fitness — and to create opportunities where everyone, regardless of ability, feels valued, included and connected to Jesus. People are searching for hope, purpose, belonging and truth. FCA meets people where they are and uses sports as a powerful platform to build relationships and point them toward Christ.

JOSEPH SANCHEZ

GREATER SEATTLE EASTSIDE AREA DIRECTOR

Sports is arguably the largest platform of influence in the world today. If that influence were to point to the Creator of athletes and sport, then we would rightly use the platform to speak true God-given identity over His people. An identity not found in performance or outcome but one that begins and ends in the truth of the Imago Dei — created in the Image of God, by God, for God and out of His true and steadfast love.

OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY COLLEGIATE DIRECTOR

I am excited to meet the needs of the coaches and athletes on the campus at Oregon State University in a unique and personal way. For the previous 21 years, I have been discipling athletes on this campus in an informal capacity alongside my church campus ministry. Now, I can’t wait to take my FCA partnership team with me for each and every touchpoint moving forward.

JAKE EDLER

GREATER YAKIMA AREA DIRECTOR

I’m most excited about the opportunity to make disciples who make disciples through the world of sports in the Yakima Valley. That means investing in coaches, athletes and local volunteers who will, in turn, invest in others. Sports naturally create opportunities for influence and relationships and I’m excited to see God use those connections to transform lives and impact entire communities.

SPORTS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO THIS “We do not play to escape the world, but to recover within it the delight God meant for human life.” — Jürgen Moltmann Sports were meant to be a place for that recovery. Instead they’ve become another arena of striving. Kids specialize earlier than ever. The number one reason they quit? A bad experience with a coach. What once brought joy now brings stress — and identity confusion at younger and younger ages.

More connected than any generation in history. And more lost. Sports went from fun to a $40 billion industry. The game defines them now. And it's costing them. Burnout. Identity confusion. Constant striving.

WHAT CAN HAPPEN WITH ONE HIRE? HEAR THE STORY OF TIM GAYDOS.

Tim came on staff as Multi-Area Director of Greater Seattle FCA in 2024. When he arrived, the team was just getting going — three FCA staff members for the entire city of Seattle. In three short years, Tim has helped grow that team to eleven. But the number alone isn’t the story. Ministry has taken root in places where FCA has never had a presence — campuses that had no Huddle, no coach, no witness and now have all three. Because Tim said yes to joining FCA staff, eight more people were able to say yes. And every one of those yeses put a coach or an athlete in the path of a collision with Jesus. That’s how we reach every coach and every athlete: one yes at a time. One yes. A city transformed. BELOW IS WHAT HAPPENS WITH JUST ONE HIRE IN THE PNW:

Bob & Cindy Conlin IN THE GAME — DONOR HIGHLIGHT

We love the concept behind FCA: engaging and equipping coaches and athletes to build a strong, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and then encouraging them to model that relationship to others. What particularly resonates with us is the potential for that message to reach far beyond one individual. When you reach a coach or an athlete, you have the opportunity to influence an entire team, a school, a family and, ultimately, future generations. Our desire is to help FCA get that message to as many coaches and athletes as possible. FCA has reinforced for us that discipleship is most powerful when it is lived out and modeled rather than simply taught. Coaches and athletes have tremendous influence over the people around them, and when they authentically live out their faith, that example can be much more powerful than words alone. We love the idea of equipping people who can then equip others—a multiplying effect that can continue well beyond our own involvement. We hope our partnership helps FCA broaden its reach and put the message of Christ in front of as many coaches and athletes as possible. Ultimately, we hope the impact is both broad and generational. If an athlete develops a genuine, God-centered perspective and carries that into adulthood, marriage, family, career and community, the potential impact is enormous. That’s the kind of lasting change we want to help create. We believe FCA is particularly important today because our culture has become increasingly focused on self—what I want, what I deserve, what makes me happy and how I can succeed. FCA offers a very different message: that our lives are not ultimately about us. Helping young athletes shift from being “me-focused” to God-focused is a critical cultural shift. Sports provide FCA with an incredibly powerful platform to reach young people at an important time in their lives, and we believe helping them develop a relationship with Jesus can influence not only who they become as athletes, but who they become as people.
