Chris has been active in the Canadian music industry as a bassist, producer, composer, arranger, and educator for over 25 years. He has worked with Grammy, Juno, and ECMA award winners. He freelances extensively on double bass and electric bass in a diverse range of styles. He’s led his own groups at many music festivals and has performed on over 30 cruise ships. As a recording artist, Matthew has won numerous Ecma, MNS, and MNB awards. Matthew graduated from Dalhouse with a bachelor of Music degree, and studied Ethnomusicology in Ghana through the University of Alberta. Some notable artists Matt has worked with include; Amelia Curran, Erin Costelo, Ben Caplin, Alan Syliboy, Mike Trask, Garrett Mason and Symphony NS. Matthew currently teaches drums at Long and McQuade.
