The waves at Rainbow Beach are at their best with an East or South Swell up to 3 metres and winds West to South West, however light to moderate South East winds work well too. The beach has a variety of breaks from the typical beach breaks to point breaks. 2

T own Beac h , P ort Macquarie

The best conditions are when winds are from the South West to South and light to moderate North to North East winds work well too. The swell direction depending on which one of the breaks you surf, work best in Easterly swells, but can handle North East and South swells too. Waves of up to 2.5 metres cater for all abilities with a variety of surfing options. 3

L i g h t h ouse Beac h , P ort Macquarie

Lighthouse beach is the summer saviour with protection from the summer North Easterlies. The beach faces South and picks up all available swell so it’s great for the intermediate surfer and above, with short powerful rides. However the beach can be dangerous and strong rips and currents occur. Lighthouse beach is best in North West to North East winds with waves under 2 metres, yet has been surfed in the 3m+ size. Being a beach break it is entirely dependent on the sandbanks.

Imagine a change of pace where you wake up to a spectacular ocean view, start your day with walk a along the magnificent coastline and enjoy the sunny afternoons with your kids - just because you can! Give your kids the childhood you had where they can ride their bikes home from school and play in friendly neighbourhoods. Spend your weekends exploring this coastal playground, eating fresh regional produce and enjoying the best climate in Australia. Isn’t it time you moved?

Both raised in the country, Kerry and I wanted to raise our two girls in a more gentle country setting. To find a 13 acre environmental wonderland nestled between the river and the sea, just one kilometre from a small village, with great schools was an outstanding opportunity. After twenty years of large organisation professional life, the sea change-tree change was soul soothing. In comparison with the city, the richness of our life is enhanced by the diversity of people from all socio-economic backgrounds that we meet. There is such an open generosity of community spirit. Ten years on, so many new friends have been made and our friends from Sydney regularly visit. P eter J ohn s on , D iamond Waters N urs ery and T reehou s e R etreat

things

to do

in Greater Port Macquarie Monster croc 'Shrek' is sure to be a big hit when visiting Billabong Koala and Wildlife Park. Measuring 4.6 metres and estimated to be 50 years old he lives in his Jurassic Pond. You can see him swim through an underwater viewing panel or from the 2nd storey viewing area. Despite his size, Shrek has a very small stomach no larger than a soccer ball. Come out and see Shrek and many more special residents.
