Holzinger Trails

Bluffside Park is home to the Holzinger Trail System, which is perfect for running, hiking, or mountain biking. Located 1.2 miles from Lake Lodge, the park holds 9 miles of bluff side trails and picturesque lookouts over the valley. Trails vary in difficulty.

Prairie Island Dog Park

Prairie Island Road, Winona, MN Prairie Island Dog Park is a designated place for your dog to be safely offleash, socialize with other dogs, and get some exercise.

Prairie Island Campground, located right on the Mississippi River, offers 80 electrical and 115 non-electrical sites. The adjacent parkland offers a playground, horseshoe and volleyball pits, 1.5 miles of hiking trails, excellent fishing, and abundant wildlife viewing. Sugar Loaf Trails & Rock Climbing

Sugar Loaf is Winona’s most well-known landmark and a popular destination for rock climbing. The hiking trail starts on the North side of the bluff and winds its way up to the base of Sugar Loaf. The trailhead and parking is located on East Lake Blvd.

Winona Ice Park

The outdoor recreation world is abuzz over the Winona Ice Park, which cascades hundreds of feet down the bluffs to create one of the country’s premiere climbing opportunities. The ice park is created through collaboration between The Recreation Alliance of Winona and the City of Winona. Note: Specialized equipment and climbing experience (or an expert guide) are required to climb.
