Dear Falstaff Society Member, The vibrant colors of the Napa Valley are showing off with the much-anticipated mustard flowers that are blanketing the valley floor. After the winter rains and the start of the warm and sunny weather, the robust vegetation is beginning to come to life. As we say goodbye to winter and prepare for spring, we take this opportunity to acknowledge the labor of love that goes into every vintage. From the farming crews who take great care of the land and the vineyards, to the winery teams that focus on every meticulous step in the winemaking and aging process to ensure quality and consistency in every vintage. We remain committed to the highest standards of winemaking, even during a global pandemic. We are truly excited for this year’s release of the 2018 Vintage and even more excited to get the wine on the tables and in the cellars of our society members. Remember to tag us if you share photos of our wines on social media, so we can share the love with our community. It brings us great joy to see our members enjoying our wine. Finally, please allow me to extend our appreciation for your patience and collaboration while we experienced major shipping delays across the country due to the recent severe weather conditions across the country. The cade Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is made from two of Napa’s most renowned vineyards: Kenefick Ranch Vineyards in Calistoga and Hanson-Hsieh Vineyard in Oak Knoll. We picked the fruit from these vineyards starting on September 26th until October 17th, 2018.
WINEMAKER IMPRESSIONS
The wine has aromas of boysenberry, cherry, strawberry jam, rose petal, blueberry, chocolate, mocha, vanilla, and brown sugar. In the palate are flavors of raspberry, dried cranberry, black cherry, vanilla bean, and roasted coffee. The tannins are rounded and supple. The wine is very balanced in its approach. The wine is full bodied and has a velvety mouthfeel. Sourcing from these two stellar vineyards on the valley floor allows us to craft a wine with a rich deep palate and great red and black fruit aromas and flavors. BY THE NUMBERS BOTTLE
