The Gallery Center is an art studio and exhibit to promote the creative arts for children and teenagers. It is an addition to the Fonthill Castle site, home to the Fonthill Castle, Visitor's Center, the Moravian Pottery and Tileworks, and Fonthill Park. The site is primarily a museum and a local walking trail, so the project aimed to redevelop and reprogram the site to activate the historic site more.
The Gallery Center is a 3rd year, two-term project: the winter term studio focused on site analysis and initial scheme development of the site and the spring term studio focused on developing and refining a scheme from winter term. The winter term studio was completed under the supervision and guidance of Professor Kyle O'Connor, RLA. The spring term studio was completed under the supervision and guidance of Professor Daniel Chung.
