100% of the proceeds of Storybook Ball exclusively benefit Please Touch Museum’s literacy programming for young children. The Museum is committed to providing enriching and meaningful literacy-based learning experiences in an informal environment, both in our Museum and in our community.

n Saturday, March 15, 2014, Please Touch Museum celebrates our 6th Annual Storybook Ball. Families are welcomed to explore the Museum after-hours for an enchanted evening of play and stories. The event features: appearances from our

favorite storybook characters; a dance party in our grand ballroom, Hamilton Hall; special programming and activities; delicious cuisine and more.

Throughout the spring, Please Touch Museum celebrates literacy with a series of programs, performances, and special events. Each we year invite our Please Touch Museum Book Award winning authors to present their stories. The Book Award, celebrating its 29th year, honors children’s books that help discover the joys of reading and learning, all while reflecting Please Touch Museum’s philosophy of learning through play.

Cinderella

Support the big dreams of over a thousand children who find books that fit like a glass slipper when participating in our Books to Know, Books to Grow! program. Through this program, children in pre-K through 3rd grade have a ball reading and playing with PTM staff in their classrooms.

Knights of the Round Table

If you cannot attend Storybook Ball, please consider being a Knight of the Round table, which makes it possible for children participating in the Museum’s Books to Know, Books to Grow! program to attend the event free of charge. Books to Know, Books to Grow!, is a play-based literacy program which is part of our Stories in Schools programs offered to children in Pre-K through 3rd grade in elementary schools in the Parkside Neighborhood. Participation in the program helps students build an interest in reading and encourages a life-long love of books.

Benefits: • 4 Storybook Ball tickets will be donated to children participating in the Museum’s Books to Know, Books to Grow!, program.
