COMMUNITY EVENTS MARCH – SEPTEMBER April 6 - Springtime Hill Climb The Springtime Hill Climb is a 5k run/walk that will take you through the streets and trails of Pleasant Hill. Don’t be intimidated by the name – it’s primarily named the Hill Climb because of the location, not the elevation. The race is presented by Caring Hands.

Pound Fitness This exhilarating full-body workout combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilatesinspired movements. 14 - Build Your Own Rain Barrel Workshop Did you know that a large amount of pollution entering Pleasant Hill waterways is from stormwater runoff? You can help manage this water is by installing a rain barrel, which can be used to water plants, wash cars, and more! Learn how to make your own rain barrel and manage stormwater on your own property from this “make and take” workshop. All materials and tools will be provided. Be sure you can transport your 55-gallon barrel home.

Common Questions: • Cost: $50.00 per registration (1 registration for 1 barrel).

• Can I make more than one barrel?

Yes! However, you must register for each barrel you wish to take home.

• What’s included: tools and materials to build one 55-gallon rain barrel per registration.

• Can my kids participate? Yes! Kids should be accompanied by an adult.

• Can someone else help me build my barrel? Yes! We encourage you to bring friends or family to help build your barrel. Just remember, you need to register for each barrel you want to take home. Registration fees pay for the cost of materials.

Before signing up, be aware that the installation of a rain barrel requires for the cutting of a house’s downspout to divert water flow to the barrel. If you live in a rental house or condominium, make sure you are allowed to make modifications to the property’s gutter system.

19 - Earth Day Trash Bash The Earth Day Trash Bash is a collaborative effort between the Des Moines Parks & Recreation and several surrounding communities. Pleasant Hill Parks and Recreation needs your help in cleaning up along the Gay Lea Wilson Trail and mulching new trees. Volunteers will assist staff in soft trail clean-up, litter clean-up, and invasive plant removal. All supplies will be provided.

May Healthy and Homemade “Healthy and Homemade” is a series of three fun nutrition classes for people who want to eat healthy and enjoy doing it! The classes are taught by a registered dietitian from ISU Extension and Outreach. Topics covered are as follows: vegetable dishes, slow cooker meals, and weekly meal preparation.

14 - Introduction to Soccer

This 60-minute program is designed for kids ages 4-7 to explore the beautiful game of soccer. This is designed for kids that have not played or just starting to play soccer and want to learn more about it. Licensed trainers will be there to play fun games with the kids that will teach them basic fundamentals of dribbling and passing.

16 - Freezer Meals

Dinner Delights freezer meal parties are a fun way to assemble meals ahead of time so you can pull them out and have fresh, delicious dinners on the table in no time.

Dinner Delights takes care of the menu planning, shopping and prepping. At the end of the party, everyone takes home six meals to put in the freezer. Dinner Delights brings all the meal supplies. All you have to bring is bags or a cooler to take the meals home.

22 - Tikes and Bikes

Celebrate Bike Month with the Pleasant Hill Public Library and Parks and Recreation.

Children between the ages of 2-6 are invited to experience bicycle safety education. Participants will learn age appropriate safety skills to navigate the do’s and don’ts of riding a bicycle. We encourage participants to bring their bicycles to enjoy the skills course that will be set up in the west parking lot of the library to practice the safety skills learned in the class. Helmets will be required and parent participation is recommended.

3 - Farmers Market Kick Off

Join us for the kickoff to the Pleasant Hill Farmers Market. We will have activities for the whole family, including inflatables, games and food trucks. The Pleasant Hill Farmers Market will be held every Monday starting June 3rd until Monday September 30th.

8 - Youth Fishing Derby Join us for a morning of fishing at Copper Creek Lake. A parent or guardian must be present. Bait is limited and each participant should bring a fishing rod and tackle. The first 150 kids will receive a t-shirt. A raffle drawing will follow the event. Hosted by Pleasant Hill Parks & Recreation and the Pleasant Hill Lions Club.

EVENTS CONT. 27 - Family Fun Fest Pleasant Hill Parade and Family Fun Fest is an event created especially for family fun in Pleasant Hill. The Pleasant Hill Lion’s Club organizes the parade which has on average 80 participants.

The parade will begin at 10 AM at Doanes Park ending near City Hall.

After the parade we will encourage everyone to visit with our local officers.

Location TBD. In the evening we will be hosting inflatables, games, riding animals and face painting. At dusk we will be showing a movie in the park.

Attendees can bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets while they enjoy the movie. Stay after the movie for a fun fireworks display. Family Fun Fest is a FREE event for all ages, however there will be food available for purchase.

Art on the Lake Festival will begin accepting artist applications in March for this year’s festival. Art on the Lake Festival will be held September 21 at Copper Creek Lake Park along the Gay Lea Wilson Trail in Pleasant Hill, IA. The Planning and Zoning Commission regulates the use and development of land by issuing permits for new construction and by adopting and enforcing zoning regulations. Members shall be residents of the city and qualified by knowledge or experience to act in matters pertaining to the development of a city plan.

The Public Arts Advisory Commission advises and assists the Council in the promotion of public art and performing arts within the City's physical environment and public spaces.

Yard waste bags and bundles are collected from the curb weekly during Compost It! season. There are three options to use the Bags & Stickers Stickers can be purchased at City Hall or the Pleasant Hill Hy-Vee.

1. Purchase Compost It! Bags • Cost: $8.00+tax for a bundle of five bags.

• No sticker required.

• The cost of the Compost It! bag covers the cost of collection.

• Tip: Do not exceed 40 lbs. of weight per bag.

2. Compost It! Sticker + Store-brand Bag • Cost: $1.25+tax per sticker plus cost of generic bag.

• The cost of Compost It! sticker covers the cost of collection.

• Attach one green Compost It! sticker to each bag.

• Tip: Make sure the sticker is visible from the street.

3. Compost It! Sticker + Brush Bundles • Cost: $1.25+tax per sticker.

• Attach a Compost It! sticker to each brush bundle and place it next to carts or bags.

• Bundles cannot exceed 18 inches in diameter or four feet in length.

PLEASANT HILL PARKS & RECREATION LET’S GO TO THE PARK COMING TO A PARK NEAR YOU THIS SUMMER! FREE! All Ages Let’s Go to the Park is a new summer series of park events organized by the Pleasant Hill Parks and Recreation.

The goal of this series is to bring neighbors together and introduce specific parks to those who live near them.

Postcards will be mailed out with information about your neighborhood’s Park Play date, time and theme. Games, crafts, activities and free play for all ages will be provided free of charge.

Residents are encouraged to take a stroll to their closest park and come out for an evening of fun with neighbors!

Nearly 1,000 baseball fans from around the state are expected to visit our community. This is a qualifying tournament for the Little League Regional Tournament in Indianapolis, where the winner will advance to Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series.

Through the amazing support of the city of Pleasant Hill, we offer one of the most beautiful and unique Little League parks in the entire state. After a resoundingly successful hosting of the 11's State Tournament in 2018, Little League state representatives selected Pleasant Hill to host the largest state tournament. We invite our entire community and sponsors to join us this summer to celebrate and enjoy this amazing honor given to our city and league. Games will be aired on Mediacom Channel 22.

FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions What is your cancellation policy?

Programs, activities, and special events that are cancelled, postponed or changed in location will be announced as soon as possible. Please check Facebook or www.pleasanthilliowa. org for updates. We reserve the right to cancel a program or an activity that does not meet the minimum number if participants necessary to offer the program. If Southeast Polk Community Schools or Des Moines Public Schools are cancelled for the day, scheduled Parks and Recreation programs will be cancelled as well.

What is your program refund policy?

Refund requests must be made ONE WEEK prior to the first day of the program. Once the ONE WEEK deadline passes, refunds will not be issued. If the program is cancelled due to not meeting the minimum number of participants or due to weather a full refund will be given.

What is your facility rental refund policy?

The city does not honor refunds for cancellations for use of the shelters or youth center due to inclement weather.

Cancellations must be made 30 days prior to the reserved date in order to receive a refund; less a $10 cancellation fee for shelters and a $50 cancellation fee for the Youth Center. There are no guarantees or refunds regarding the facility’s suitability to the event, including but is not limited to; parking, appliances, heating or cooling, electrical (such as access to power and/or blown circuit breakers) and water supply. Appeals for refund may be made to the Park & Recreation Commission.

What is your photo/video policy?

Photos/videos taken of participants and guests in programs, activities or special events may be used in promotional materials, press releases and the City of Pleasant Hill’s website and social media channels.

PROGRAMS Children

Three story times are held each week as well as many special events throughout the year. ToddlerTime is now held on Tuesdays at 10:30am and Preschool Storytimes are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am. New in September are Toddler Play Group times!

Creative Kids Craft take place on Wednesdays at 4pm for Kindergarten – 5th grade. Preregistration is required.

Participants must be able to work independently or bring a helper.

Scavenger Hunts are held on a monthly basis within the library. These are very popular with our younger patrons!

The library’s annual Halloween Party is always a great time. Cosponsored with the Park and Rec department, several hundred ghosts and goblins descend on the Doanes Park Youth Center each year. This year’s party will be held Friday, October 19th from 6:30 – 8pm.

During the Hill of Lights presentation, the library hosts Make and Take an Ornament. There are several great designs for ornaments for you to ‘make and take’. This year, Make and Take an Ornament will be on Sunday, December 2nd from 1 to 4 pm.

During the past year, the Summer Reading Program had almost 1,000 participants! The Reading program is available for all ages and provides great opportunities for growth. Check it out in 2019!

Many other special events are held each year for all ages.

BEAR (Be Excited About Reading) Starting in January through the end of February, children can sign up for BEAR. They get a reading buddy at signup and can pick out a book to take home once their reading log is completed. Hundreds of readers participated last year!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is designed to encourage parents to read 1,000 books to children before they start school. This program helps children get off to a great start. Sign up and let us know your progress. Close to 200 children are already participating!

Ticket to Read is for older children. Participants read from different genres to get their passports stamped. When completed, children get to select a book to take home.

We provide programs for all ages throughout the year. Adult Programs The book discussion group meets every month to discuss a different book. It’s always a lively discussion!

Our BEST group (Bringing Education and Seniors Together) gives senior citizens the chance to sign up for chartered bus trips to locations throughout Iowa. Trips will begin in April of 2019. Each year, the library sponsors a holiday potluck for the BEST group. This year, the potluck will be held on Friday, November 16th at 12 noon.

Adult education programs on a variety of subjects are offered at the library. Many programs are provided by the Adult Education department of the Des Moines Public Schools.

The Summer Reading Program is available to adults as well! A drawing is held at the end of the program for a grand prize.

Computer Instruction is available on a one to one basis.

Fire Pits & Recreational Burning Fires contained within approved containers shall be a minimum of 15 feet from any combustible buildings or materials.

Open fire in excess of 3 feet in diameter, or a flame higher than 2 feet shall be a minimum of 50 feet away from any combustible building or material.

Fires shall be composed of natural kindling of trees and tree trimmings.

No rubbish of any type or rubber tires shall be burned at any time.

If conditions exist which would cause the fire to spread (winds, dry conditions), then open flames would be prohibited.

Fires shall be constantly attended until the fire is extinguished. A minimum of one portable fire extinguisher with a minimum 4-A rating, or other approved on-site fire extinguishing equipment such as a bucket of dirt or sand, water barrel, garden hose or water truck, shall be available for immediate use.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICE REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM Stormwater Runoff and Best Management Practices Stormwater runoff is rain, snow melt, or surface drainage that does not infiltrate into the ground.

It instead runs off impervious surfaces like paved streets, parking lots, and roof tops picking up sediment and debris along the way. Best Management Practices (BMPs) are designed to capture runoff where it lands, infiltrate it into the ground, or slow it down allowing pollutants and sediment a chance to settle out before reaching nearby rivers or streams. BMPs may include but are not limited to rain barrels, soil quality restoration, rain gardens, bioretention cells, permeable paver systems, and native planting buffers/swales.

What is the Cost-Share Reimbursement Program?

The City of Pleasant Hill has budgeted $5,000 for the Best Management Practice (BMP) cost-share program. The goal of this program is to encourage individual landowners to incorporate BMPs on their property to aid in water quality improvements and offset the cost of installation. The City of Pleasant Hill will provide reimbursement for the installation of most BMPs up to 50 percent or $750, whichever is the lesser value and rain barrels up to 50 percent or $75, whichever is the lesser value.

Limit one reimbursement for rain barrels per address. Funding is available to applicants on a first come basis and is subject to the approval of the Community Development staff and the director.

Requirements: 1. The City of Pleasant Hill will provide reimbursement after project costs are incurred.

2. The City of Pleasant Hill will reimburse the applicant within approximately 30 days.

3. The project must be completed and receipts and application submitted to the City of Pleasant Hill within the fiscal year that it is approved.

4. For reimbursement, the City requires access to your property for final inspection after the BMP is installed and a copy of your receipt is submitted.

5. The property owner is solely responsible for implementation of an approved project. The City of Pleasant Hill is not liable for personal injury or property damage resulting from said work.

6. Projects approved for funding carry no implied warranty by the City of Pleasant Hill.

7. The funded practice must be maintained for a minimum of three years. Maintenance costs are the property owner’s responsibility.

8. Must be a resident of the City of Pleasant Hill to be eligible for reimbursement.

PLEASANT HILL POLICE DEPARTMENT Vacation House Watch Program The Pleasant Hill Police Department offers a residential Vacation House Watch program for Pleasant Hill residents.

The Vacation House Watch program allows residents to sign up to have the police department check on their residence while on vacation or anytime they are away from their home for an extended period of time.

How It Works During your absence, the police department will attempt to drive by your residence one or more times a day and visually check the outside perimeter of your home to confirm that everything appears to be safe and secure.

The Police Department cannot guarantee the frequency in which your residence is checked or assume any liability should something happen to your home while you are away. As a result, the Police Department encourages you to follow some additional steps before you depart and utilize the Vacation House Watch program as an added layer of protection to help provide you with some peace of mind while you’re away.

Summer Vacation Security Checklist As you make your vacation to-do-lists, add this home security checklist to your calendar to ensure you come back to your home just the way you left it.

HOLD YOUR MAIL Overstuffed mailboxes tip burglars off to an empty house.

Contact your local post office up to 30 days in advance to notify them you would like your mail to be held for the duration of your trip.

KEEP YOUR LAWN TIDY If you are going to be away from your home for an extended period, your overgrown lawn might signal no one is home. Consider hiring a landscaper or neighbor to mow the grass and trim some of the shrubbery to maintain the illusion that someone is around to take care of the lawn.

KEEP YOUR DRIVEWAY OCCUPIED Fake out potential burglars by keeping your driveway occupied. Ask a neighbor to park their car in your driveway from time to time.

DO NOT LEAVE SPARES OUTSIDE As a homeowner, you should never leave keys outside, no matter how good you think they are hidden. Your keys could be found, which makes your home vulnerable for burglaries. Rather, leave your keys in the hands of a trusted neighbor.

EMERGENCY CONTACT Set-up a temporary emergency contact number. This could mean buying a pay-per-minute plan and phone while you are away or ask a friend or family member that you trust to be your emergency contact. Give them the information and access they need to be able to make or carry out decisions on your behalf should anything ever happen. You can leave a spare key with them and even set up a temporary access code on your home security system.

NOTIFY YOUR BANK If you plan on using your ATM or credit card while on vacation, inform your bank of the destinations you will be visiting. By doing so, the bank will not flag unusual spending activity in these various locations. You also need to inform your home security company of the duration of your trip so they know who to contact in the case of an emergency.

PROTECT IDENTITY ON YOUR LUGGAGE Never write your address on your luggage in case its contents contain any sensitive information that could lead criminals to target you. Instead, write the phone number of your emergency contact and/or home phone.

CANCEL DELIVERIES AND NEWSPAPERS A cluttered doorstop does not look any better than an overflowing mailbox. If you have orders that have not come in yet, cancel them or ask a friend to pick them up for you. If you have a regular subscription that comes to your door, like newspapers, cancel or put them on hold until you return.

SET LIGHTS ON TIMERS Put your lamps and radios on a timer. Having your lights and radio go on and off throughout the day will deter burglaries.

LIMIT SOCIAL MEDIA SHARING As exciting as your upcoming trip may be, avoid posting your vacation dates and locations. Posts might reach more people than expected, and you never know how is looking for an empty house to burglarize. Rather, post photos from your trip upon your return.

LOCK AWAY OR HIDE VALUABLES If you have a home safe, use it to hide your valuables and sensitive information. If you do not have a safe, put your valuables out of sight or use a safety deposit box.

Federal Drug Enforcement Administration Partnership The Pleasant Hill Police Department recently began a partnership with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to assign an officer to the DEA. The partnership with DEA will yield information and resources back to our community. This opportunity to further our community’s public safety is funded thought the Iowa Department of Public Safety through grant funds as the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA). The officer assigned to the DEA position remains a full member of the Pleasant Hill Police Department and will be available for staffing needs. The City is using the funds from this partnership to hire an additional full-time officer.

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS Infrastructure Projects

S. Pleasant Hill Boulevard/Vandalia Road Intersection Improvement Project Project Description: The intersection improvement project will realign the intersection of South Pleasant Hill Boulevard and Vandalia Road and will raise the roadway out of the 500 year floodplain, consolidate two uncontrolled railroad crossings into one signalized crossing, add pedestrian improvements and trail and reconstruct the on-ramp to the Highway 65 bypass. The alignment of the intersection is set to align with the future connection of the Southeast Connector, locally known as Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.

Project Update: Construction began in the fall of 2018.

Estimated Cost: The estimated project cost for construction is over $10,000,000. Federal funds have been received to cost share construction in the amount of $7,900,000.

Estimated Project Timeline: Project will be bid in October 2018 with approximately 18-month construction window.

NE 70th Street Reconstruction (including 400’ east of Meacham Dr) Project Description: NE 70th Street between University Avenue and NE Rising Sun Drive is currently undergoing a complete reconstruction to bring the road design to current safety standards. The reconstruction includes an intersection (roundabout) at NE 70th Street and NE Rising Sun Drive and is designed to eventually continue further south and create a new boulevard section which connects to SE 6th Avenue at SE 68th Street near Four Mile Elementary School. Pleasant Hill’s Public Arts Advisory Commission has contracted with the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation to assist with the process of hiring an artist and acquiring the City’s first piece of public art to be installed in the newly constructed roundabout. The Public Arts Advisory Commission received a $15,000 grant from Bravo Greater Des Moines toward this piece of art.

Project Update: Construction of the roadway began Summer of 2018. Use of the roadway and new roundabout began in December of 2018. Construction to complete the project, including the installation of the City’s first art sculpture (purchased with the help from donations and a Bravo Greater Des Moines grant), will resume Spring/Summer 2019.

Estimated Cost: $2,870,000 Contractor: Elder Corporation 31

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS CONT. NE 60th Street/Morning Star Court Reconstruction Project Description: A redesigned intersection of NE 60th Street and University Avenue would improve safety and capacity through the intersection as well as add additional car stacking distance by relocating the intersection of NE 60th Street and Morning Star Court to the south. The intersection improvements would also add pedestrian accommodations.

Estimated Cost: $2,720,000

Woodland Drive Construction (Connection from Pleasant Ridge Estates to SE 55th St) Project Description: The Pleasant Ridge Estates neighborhood located on Shadyview Boulevard currently only has one roadway access. To provide for increased accessibility for emergency services and residents, a new roadway has been designed which would connect from the east side of the subdivision to SE 55th Street named Woodland Drive.

Project Update: The City is currently undergoing negotiations to acquire the necessary right-of-way needed to construct the new roadway. Anticipated construction 2019.

Estimated Cost: $430,000

Park and Trail Projects

Hickory Glen Park Project Description: The City of Pleasant Hill purchased 77 acres of ground in 2015 southwest of Four Mile Elementary School for future parkland following a recommendation from the Comprehensive Plan and Parks, Trails and Open Space Plan. In 2016, the City hired Confluence Landscape Architects to complete a comprehensive Master Plan for the Park.

Following adoption of the Master Plan, a contest was held to name the park ground by a local resident. Hickory Glen Park is designed to serve many users over many generations, and full build out is a long term process.

The overall Master Plan construction is estimated to cost over $17,000,000.

Project Update: The project is expected to bid in April 2019 for Phase 1, including grading and utility work.

Youngstown Trail Project Description: Youngstown trail is a local trail network which provides a connection for residents to travel throughout the community and connect to over 600 miles of trails through the Central Iowa Trail Network via the Gay Lea Wilson Trail.

Project Update: Phase II of Youngstown Trail which extends from the Gay Lea Wilson Trail at Parkridge Avenue and continues east to Pleasant Hill Boulevard has completed design which includes the trail and several storm water improvements. The City has acquired all necessary property and easement acquisition needed to construct the project. The City applied for grant funding through the Iowa Department of Transportation and any construction is pending the results of the funding application.

Estimated Cost: $777,000 Estimated Project Timeline: Construction is anticipated to begin Summer 2019.

Regional Projects

Southeast Connector/Martin Luther King Jr Parkway Extension Project Description: The City of Pleasant Hill has been working with the City of Des Moines to plan, construct, and apply for funding for the Southeast Connector/Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway Extension as a transportation corridor connecting the Highway 5/65 Bypass to downtown Des Moines for over a decade.

Project Update: The City of Des Moines completed a new section of the roadway to extend to 30th Street in 2016.

The intersection improvements at Pleasant Hill Boulevard and Vandalia Road are designed to accommodate the future connection of the Southeast Connector. Due to federal funding requirements, no additional federal funds can be used to construct the project until at least 2021. Planning is still underway.

Estimated Cost: The connection between 30th Street and the Pleasant Hill Intersection which spans through Des Moines and Pleasant Hill is anticipated to cost $40,000,000.

Water Trails Project Description: The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization received funding from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to develop a regional water trails plan. Now developed, the plan provides the region a road-map for enhancing citizen experiences in and along the waterways in Greater Des Moines.

PUBLIC WORKS Construction Season Construction Season begins April 1st and lasts through the end of October. During this time the Public Works Department will begin street panel replacement. Pothole patching occurs any time the temperature is above freezing. If you see barricades and signs, please be patient as we work to improve our roads.

Animal Control Public Works has a facility where stray animals are kept when recovered. We use a chip reader to see if the pet has a chip. If they do, we contact the owner. If no chip is found, we keep them in our facility for 7 days to try to connect them with their family. After 7 days, the furry friend is transferred to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Oakwood Cemetery Clean up The City of Pleasant Hill will be conducting a general cleanup of Oakwood Cemetery, beginning April 1. All artificial floral arrangements and associated hardware; including arrangements located on the memorial must be removed to allow proper cleanup. Oakwood Cemetery is open from 7:30 a.m. to one-half hour past sunset.

Four Mile Elementary School Spotlight Four Mile Elementary is located in Pleasant Hill serves approximately 425 preschool through fifth-grade students with approximately fifty staff members. Our building fluctuates from year to year between three and four sections at each grade level. draw 5 million adventure seekers each year. Add in the 20 miles of bike trails and 200 acres of recreational space throughout the region and it’s easy to see that quality of life here is truly one of a kind.

Our district serves more than 6,800 students from preschool through grade 12. Covering 114 square miles and serves the communities of Pleasant Hill, Altoona, Mitchellville, Runnells, Des Moines and surrounding areas.

The central campus, consisting of the high school, junior high, sixth-grade building, district office, bus maintenance facility, and buildings and grounds department – is located in the geographic center of the district, with eight elementary schools located throughout the district. Principal Mohning My name is Randy Mohning, and I have been the principal at Four Mile since the 2009-2010 school year. As the building principal, my goal is to provide a safe, secure, and positive learning environment for all students. I want to help all students have the opportunity to be successful as they transition from one educational level to the next.

It takes a strong and productive partnership between the school, families, and community to help our students be successful learners. My role is to help build and nurture that partnership as we focus on your children and their education. Education has played a major role in my life and has been very instrumental in the achievement of my personal goals. Therefore, as we prepare our students for a future of success I will continue to focus on providing them the best possible education.

Location: Toad Valley Golf Course 237 NE 80th St. Pleasant Hill, IA 50327 This annual 4- person Best Shot Tournament will be held on Friday May 17th at Toad Valley Golf Course, tee time at 11 AM. Pleasant Hill Parade & Family Fun Fest Saturday July 27th

Pleasant Hill Parade and Family Fun Fest is an event created especially for family fun in Pleasant Hill. The Pleasant Hill Lion’s Club organizes the parade which has on average 80 participants. The parade will begin at 10 AM at Doanes Park ending near City Hall. After the parade we will encourage everyone to visit with our local officers. Location TBD. In the evening we will be hosting inflatables, games, riding animals and face painting. At dusk we will showing a movie in the park. Attendees can bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets while they enjoy the movie. Stay after the movie for a fun fireworks display. Family Fun Fest is a FREE event for all ages, however there will be food available for purchase.
