Pleasant Hill is a young and vibrant community that is rapidly growing. Incorporated in 1956, the City now has more than 11,079 residents and a solid retail service base. This growth has been fueled by Pleasant Hill’s ideal location in the Des Moines Metro, its two strong school districts, and the quality of life that is afforded to its residents and businesses.
Ground transportation is easy in Pleasant Hill. The City resides at the intersection of US Highway 65 and Iowa Highway 163, providing uncongested and direct access to Interstate 80 and Interstate 35 and the rest of the metro. Residents also can ride Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) bus routes that cross and connect the entire metro.
Air travel is simple and convenient. Both the Des Moines International Airport and the Ankeny Regional Airport are only 15 minutes away
