spring cleanup

SPRING CLEANUP

Pleasant Hill Collection is April 25. Residents should have items at the curb by 6 AM on April 25. Keen to spring clean? Spring Cleanup is just around the corner! Spring Cleanup is a great opportunity to get rid of large items or extra garbage right at your curb!

What’s Accepted?

Items that typically require a large or extra item sticker, such as:

• Couch

• Desk

• Lamp

• Toys

• Mattress

• Chairs

• Doors

• Carpet (must be cut into 4’ long x 18” diameter rolls)

What’s Not Accepted?

Items that should not be set out at your curb for Spring Cleanup include:

• Appliances

• Construction Debris

• Hazardous waste

• Yard waste

• Broken glass

• Wood (timbers, decking, fencing)

• Concrete (cinder blocks, landscaping bricks)

• Tires

Collection Guidelines

When you’re considering if an item is accepted during Spring Cleanup, ask yourself:

• Can two people lift it?

• Is my pile smaller than the bed of a pick-up truck?

If the answers to these two questions are yes, then kick those items to the curb!

Make sure all your items are set at the curb by 6 AM on your scheduled cleanup day. Some haulers like to start before the sun rises!

Wondering about an item that’s not listed above? Give Metro Waste Authority a call at 515.244.0021, or visit WhereItShouldGo. com/SpringCleanup.

Only residents on city services are eligible to participate in Spring Cleanup.

In total, over 90 storm sewer intakes throughout the City will be rebuilt or restored. The City is partnering with Polk County on a series of stream improvements to prevent erosion and reduce flooding through Copper Creek Lake Park to the north as well as on Little Fourmile Creek between Little Fourmile Creek Drive and NE 56th Street.
