Where Curiosity Meets Community

DEAR FRIENDS Welcome

Thank you for choosing to see a performance at Playhouse Square. We encourage you take in the historic beauty of our theaters and the bright lights of Euclid Avenue while you’re here. Our staff and RedCoat volunteers are ready to make your visit as memorable and enjoyable as possible.
Playhouse Square was saved by the community for the community, and we are proud to be the stewards of the legacy left to us by previous generations — now one of Cleveland’s brightest cultural gems. Our not-for-profit mission charges us to go beyond simply maintaining these incredible venues.
Every day we work to present a diverse offering of quality performances — Broadway, concerts, comedy, dance, film, family shows and more. We support arts education through a variety of programs that take place in the classroom, online and here at Playhouse Square. We lead a vibrant downtown destination that generates an annual economic impact exceeding $359 million for the region. Equally important are your experience and the memories you take with you.
Now, settle into your seat, leave the world outside for a little while and let yourself become absorbed in the magic of the story on stage before you. We look forward to welcoming you back to Playhouse Square again soon and invite you to consider joining our community of season tickets holders for the 2025–26 KeyBank Broadway Series. If you are already a season ticket holder, we thank you and hope you are as excited for next season as we are!
With best wishes,

Craig Hassall AM President & CEO

CURRENT BROADWAY SHOWS ANNOUNCE TOURS
They’re going on the road! Several productions currently on Broadway have announced recently that they plan to tour beginning in 2026. Maybe Happy Ending, a musical about two retired “helper-bot” human robots forming a connection which allows them to explore the challenges of life and relationships beyond their work, will kick off their national tour from the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, MD, in the fall of 2026. Meanwhile Operation Mincemeat, a comedic musical telling the true story of a WWII scheme in which British Intelligence officials strategically place a corpse carrying classified information in order to trick the German government into rerouting their troops, has announced a worldwide tour kicking off from Manchester, England, in February that will eventually stop in the United States, Australia, Canada, Mexico, China and New Zealand. While we can’t say for sure yet if either of those titles will come to Playhouse Square in the near future, we’re very excited to have already announced that the upcoming national tour of Death Becomes Her, a hilarious new musical based on the 1992 movie starring Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis, will begin right here on our stages in the fall of 2026. Keep an eye on Playhouse Square’s social media channels for more news and updates!
ALADDIN ON BROADWAY CELEBRATES MILESTONE
On May 17, Disney Theatrical Group celebrated the 400th performance of Aladdin at Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, the musical opened to rave reviews on March 20, 2014, and quickly became one of the biggest new Broadway blockbusters in recent years, setting 17 house records at the New Amsterdam Theatre. The production has also launched a successful US national tour, as well as companies in several countries around the globe.

50 FIRST DATES THE MUSICAL TO PREMIERE IN WEST END
A musical adaptation of the 2004 rom-com starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is currently in production and set to have its world premiere at London’s Other Palace Theatre this fall. The story follows notorious bachelor Henry as he tries to convince art teacher — and amnesiac — Lucy that he’s worth dating. He’s falling for her every day, meanwhile she’s forgetting him every night. 50 First Dates the Musical is written by David Rossmer and Steve Rosen (The Other Josh Cohen), and directed and choreographed by multi-Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (Mean Girls, The Book of Mormon).
SPOTLIGHT ON The District

BEYOND THE STAGE
Playhouse Square is working “Beyond the Stage” on initiatives designed to enhance the experience of theatergoers and provide a welcoming environment for downtown workers, residents and visitors. Guests can plan for three new dining venues to join the Playhouse Square District in the coming months. Something Good Social Kitchen, co-founded by Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere creator Ricky Smith, is set to open in the kiosk on Playhouse Square Plaza with a menu featuring burgers and salads. Nationally recognized Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop will serve ice cream in the Hanna Building (1422 Euclid Ave.), while Encore will serve experiential cocktails in an intimate, upscale lounge located on the ground floor of The Lumen (1580 Euclid Ave). Official opening dates for each venue will be announced in the near future.

BE IN THE KNOW
Looking to enjoy a meal or drink at a restaurant before a show? Perhaps, learn more about special events in the theater district? Our PSQ District social media channels are great resources for staying up-to-date on what’s happening in the neighborhood. From behind-the-scenes videos at different venues to photos of our dazzling Playhouse Square Chandelier, presented by GE Lighting, a Savant company, and exciting giveaways, our @PSQDistrict pages on Instagram and X are here to help guide guests as they explore the area of 14th and Euclid. We also encourage visitors to tag their photos with @PSQDistrict to share their experience with family and friends.

Jump
Back Ball
On March 1, Playhouse Square’s young professionals group, Partners, hosted Jump Back Ball 2025: Candy in the Land, presented by Malley’s Chocolates. This event welcomed more than 800 attendees and raised a net income of $126,657, which supports Playhouse Square’s education programs!
Party-goers were greeted with a “pink carpet” experience upon arrival and enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening. They danced the night away to Recess and DJ Red-I, took numerous photos at the many photo opps, and tried their luck with the on-site casino games, raffle and silent auction.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without support from the Jump Back Ball committee, Shop Night volunteers and Playhouse Square staff members. Thank you for your support!

GIVING BACK to Playhouse Square
Playhouse Square is a community-based notfor-profit organization which depends upon philanthropic support from individuals, foundations, and corporations. More than $7 million dollars must be raised annually to help Playhouse Square meet its mission of operating and maintaining the historic theaters, expanding arts education outreach, and investing in the community through area development. The following are charitable opportunities which support Playhouse Square:
Donor Circle
The Donor Circle is a program for individuals who support Playhouse Square with an annual gift of $50 or more. Donor Circle donors are offered perks and benefits to enhance their experience at Playhouse Square. At select giving levels, donors are offered perks such as pre-sales, donor reserved seating for select performances, access to the RJF Presidents’ Club and lower-level access in the Playhouse Square Garage. Companies can also contribute via the Corporate Donor Circle program. This program offers similar benefits as listed above, but provides enhancements to meet the needs of companies wanting to increase their visibility in the community and strengthen business relationships. Individual Giving Contact: Mary Winchester, 216-640-8412, playhousesquare.org/ donorcircle. Corporate Giving Contact: Sarah Stengel, 216-640-8408, playhousesquare.org/ corporatedonorcircle
Leading Ladies
In the spirit of fun and celebration, Leading Ladies is designed to engage women by providing the opportunity to connect with each other through a shared passion for Playhouse Square and its not-for-profit mission. Members are invited to four exclusive events throughout the year, such as pre-show cocktail receptions, special guest speaker luncheons, and behind-the-scenes experiences. An annual membership is $250. Contact: Leanne Dewyer, 216-640-8411
Foundation Support
Corporate, community and family foundations and government agencies like the Ohio Arts Council and Cuyahoga County Arts and Culture provide Playhouse Square with annual operating support and funding for education programs. Contact: Cheryl Helden, 216-640-8406
Partners
2024-25 Partners Co-Chairs:
Zoë Ingram & Ali Swift Partners is the official young professionals group of Playhouse Square, providing those in their 20s and 30s with opportunities to meet new people, volunteer their time, improve their leadership skills and attend fun events. At select giving levels, donors also have access to ticketing benefits, including pre-sales and donor reserved seating. Young professionals can join partners for as little as $60 per year.
