A second-generation family business, Mitolo have grown from their Playford roots to become Australia’s largest potato and onion packing company (among many other ventures). They employ more than 800 people at their key packing sites in Virginia and Hillston (NSW) and significant farming land in these areas, as well as in the Riverland and Mallee regions.

“We’re on the lookout for everything from forklift operators to packers, to electricians, to fitters, to supervisors and managers and farm operators,” Frank said. “It takes a lot of different skill sets to make an operation of our size run smoothly. One of the things many
of our staff love about working here is the opportunities that we offer to learn new skills and grow.”
Mitolo Family Farms also works closely with some of our most diverse community groups.
“We work closely with refugee groups to help integrate them not just into the Australian workforce, but also into their local community through support with English and literacy programs,” he said. “We’re also a key partner of the Adelaide North Local Jobs Program, which helps to address our community’s high youth unemployment rate and supports school leavers to develop the skills they need to thrive in the workforce.”
Asked what the most important qualities he is looking for in new staff, Frank said Mitolo Family Farms are simply looking for “committed team members who align with our inclusive culture”.
