The Playford community is extremely resilient and we have started a new year with the strength, drive and passion that inspires other cities.

It was an honour to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of our people through Council’s Australia Day Awards. I would like to congratulate Anthony Hill, Bianca Nilsson, Playford Athletics Centre, Elizabeth Vale Soccer Club and the recipients of our two new award categories, Ben Rowe and Jessica Ferdinands.

Our continued focus is about bringing our community together through activities and projects that are important to you.

Four new rejuvenated community parks, Burdell, Willison-Goodman, Mandeville and California reserves, will officially open this year, while work will progress on Stage 3 of Fremont Park and a health and wellness space at Mofflin Reserve in Elizabeth Vale.

Council continues to make big steps on the Elizabeth CBD project after going to market for development partners in 2021. You can turn to page 4 to find out more.

Other key Council developments across the city will see new unisex change rooms at Elizabeth Oval and lighting at Playford International College Oval, the transformation of Stebonheath Road and works as part of the Angle Vale Community Sports Centre masterplan will soon be completed.

Council also supports independent developments with the construction of a new state-of-the-art residential aged care facility across from the Lyell McEwin Hospital, supporting our Playford Health Precinct vision, as well as housing growth in Playford’s newest community, Riverlea.

Exciting progress for the centre of Playford.

Exciting progress has been made to transform the centre of Playford into a retail, business and entertainment precinct, with proponents being selected to develop site-specific, detailed proposals for the development of the CBD. At a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday 30 November, Council selected proponents to develop comprehensive concept designs for allotments within the CBD site along Main North Road at Elizabeth.

It moves the project a step closer to understanding what new buildings, features and experiences will form part of the renewed city centre.

With a population that is expected to reach 132,000 by 2036, a revitalised CBD will meet the needs of the city’s rapidly-growing community. It also responds to growth in areas beyond Playford, such as Gawler, Light and the Barossa, with the CBD acting as a centre that services regional communities to the north.

Importantly, developing a vibrant CBD fulfils a key aspiration from the Playford Community Vision 2043, with the community expressing their desire for a vibrant and active city centre.

Detailed concept designs must be in line with this vision. Council is also seeking assurance of delivery from proponents, to ensure that any accepted plans are delivered in a reasonable timeframe.

The decision follows a recently held Expression of Interest process in which the market was invited to submit proposals to Council.

A new approach to gateway sites As part of the project, Council considered the viability of developing an entry statement to the CBD along portions of Main North Road. This included a proposed revocation of community land along the eastern and western sides of Main North Road, Elizabeth, between Yorktown and Midway Roads and Philip Highway and Judd Road.

After assessing proposals from the EOI and considering community feedback from its consultation process, Council has decided to modify its approach to the gateway sites. Most community land along Main North Road will be retained as open green space for public use, except for: •

a parcel at the northern end of Main North Road (near Philip Highway)

•

a parcel at the southern end of Main North Road (near Judd Road)

These two parcels have been strategically earmarked for potential development that supports community need.

Excitingly, if development proceeds at the northern and southern ends of Main North Road, a master planning process will take place that will refresh and enhance the space for community use, and include things like shared use paths for cycling and walking, open space amenities and enhanced landscaping.

This aligns to Council’s vision for the CBD; to provide a thriving mix of retail, commercial, entertainment and public spaces that will bring new life and activity to the centre of Playford.

What’s next for Main North Road?

With this change in approach, Council has now amended its application for the revocation of community land to this smaller footprint. More information on the next steps of the process will be shared with the community.

The Four Parks Project is funded by a State Government $2M Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (Phase 2) Grant.

Six new and improved Playford parks.

Blake Newman (pictured) is a Project Manager at the City of Playford and during his five years at Council, he has worked on major projects such as the new CBD retail tenancies (Delicia and Fasta Pasta) and several playground upgrades, including the ongoing upgrades to Fremont Park.

Blake said his favourite project to date was “easily the Fremont Park all-abilities play space”.

“It was received so well by the community, and it was a pleasure to see the kids playing and getting so much enjoyment out of the improved space,” he said.

Blake is currently managing the construction of four park upgrades: Willison Goodman Reserve in Elizabeth South, California Reserve in Craigmore, Mandeville Reserve in Davoren Park, and Burdell Reserve in Elizabeth Downs. All four parks are due for completion between February and March 2022.

The City of Playford applied for and received $2.5 million to upgrade the four community parks across the city thanks to funding from the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

“The upgrades have been guided by feedback received through community consultation in each of the local areas, and we anticipate that each rejuvenated park will be well-suited to their respective neighbourhoods,” Blake said.

There is more good news for developing green space in Playford. Council has received more than $2 million funding from the State Government’s Open Space Grant Program towards a new park at Mofflin Reserve in Elizabeth Vale. Community consultation is to commence in early 2022.

Additionally, Council is in the final stages of securing land in Munno Para West, which will be developed as a new neighbourhood park, adding some much-coveted green space to this community.

Sports focus in Angle Vale.

The Angle Vale Community Sports Centre has been evolving for over a decade, starting out in 2010 with Stage 1, and the installation of netball courts, soccer oval and clubrooms.

Senior Project Manager, Rino Pace, has been there to see it develop from the beginning. Rino has worked at City of Playford for 29 years, and has some significant capital projects under his belt. He oversaw the construction of the new Grenville Hub in the CBD, managed the Playford Bowling Club construction, with the largest covered green in the Southern hemisphere, as well as construction of Eyre Sports Park from the ground up.

“We’re nearing completion now, and we’re excited to deliver some fantastic facilities for the local sporting community,” Rino said.

Stage 5 includes the construction of a new junior and senior soccer pitch, new football/cricket oval, coaches boxes, increased car parking (additional 98 vehicle capacity), lighting towers, landscaping and footpaths at the site.

“The new turf is now down on the ovals, and it’s looking the business,” Rino said. “I know that some clubs are really keen to get out there for a run, but it won’t be resilient enough until March, and we’re aiming for it to be ready for the start of soccer and footy seasons proper.”

The final stage, 5A, is anticipated for completion by mid-June 2022, and will include a BMX track, playground, and public toilet facility, making the Angle Vale Community Sports Centre a true sporting and activity hub for locals.

Stage 5 upgrades to the Angle Vale Community Sports Centre has a budget of just over $5 million, including $590,000 of grant funding received from the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing’s Cricket and Netball Facility Program.

Each year the City of Playford recognises and rewards the valued work and commitment of community members who give their time generously to help others, and make a significant contribution for the city.

The awards showcase Playford community members, groups or initiatives and sporting clubs. In 2022, the City of Playford announced two new categories of Active Citizenship and Young Active Citizenship.

These two categories opened the awards to nonAustralian citizens and non-Playford residents for the first time to give Council the opportunity to acknowledge their commitment to the community.

Superhero recognition.

Captain Hulk, also known as Anthony Hill, has been named the 2022 Playford Citizen of the Year. Since a young age, Anthony has participated in the Variety Bash which brings together a group of mates on an eight-day outback drive for the children’s charity. About five years ago, Anthony created his own team – the Avengers – and continues to raise money for the charity on and off the dirt track.

“I think it’s a necessity to give back to your community,” he said. “There are so many people in the community that don’t have the facilities to do what we do. There are so many children that need what we do and someone has to do it. So my wife and I saw there was a need there, put the car together and stepped up as a team and got it all together.”

During this time, Anthony has helped to raise over $100,000 for the charity. When he isn’t in the Bash car, the Avengers team is at local community events bringing entertainment and cooking delicious food.

These events are often to support or raise funds for both Variety and other organisations or groups that focus on children and their families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with special needs. “There have been families in real struggle that have needed a lot of assistance that we have been able to help,” he said.

Anthony said he was honoured to be awarded Playford Citizen of the Year, however, it was a team effort. “It’s more about the recognition for the team,” he said.

Building a music empire.

Young music entrepreneur, Bianca Nilsson, is building her record label, publicity and management company into a global powerhouse at the age of 25. She is also the 2022 Playford Young Citizen of the Year.

This emerging leader in the South Australian music industry has put her focus into helping other new artists.

“I have been mentoring them, teaching them selfmanagement skills as well as how to run their own publicity campaigns,” Bianca said. “I believe that is knowledge that should be shared, so everyone can get to the level of success in the music industry that they want to reach.”

At just 18 years old Bianca launched Renegade Records, while working 12 hours a day, six days a week, in a potato factory.

“For me, giving back to the Playford community is important because I have lived here my whole life and I wasn’t necessarily fed on a silver spoon,” she said. “I had to work really hard to get to where I am now. So, I want to offer Playford musicians all the knowledge and resources Renegade has to create an easier path while navigating through the music industry.”

And while she continues to build her business into a major label, Bianca has a focus on building representation of females and the gender queer community in the industry.

“I am really focussing on working with more female artists, female music producers, female music industry representatives,” she said. “Renegade is a fully female, non-binary, LGBTQI business – which I am really proud of. I have always wanted to make the younger version of myself proud of who I am today and hope I can be an inspiration for other people.”

Fitness fever.

Sport can unite diverse communities and the Playford Athletics Centre has been recognised for its camaraderie being named Playford Sports Club of the Year.

The Centre has existed for about 50 years, but in recent times has seen significant participation growth.

Club president Shona Weston said it was thanks to volunteers and families’ dedication and continual training opportunities.

“It feels incredible, it feels like all the hard work has been recognised not just for us, but the kids as well,” Shona said. “We work hard to educate and train athletes, parents and community members so they in turn can help educate and officiate in athletic events and activities for future generations.”

The Centre’s aim is to create a fun and active environment for all ages and fitness levels.

Playford Athletics Centre provides support to families who may be financially struggling or have special needs to make sure its sport offerings are accessible to everyone.

“We strive to encourage the development of athletes of all abilities by promoting positive attitudes and a healthy lifestyle through family and community involvement in athletic activities,” she said. “We offer a chance for everyone in the community to participate in sport.”

The Centre also fosters future champions with opportunities for members to participate in athletic events.

“We continue to watch our club grow each year as the children strive to beat their personal bests and become true athletes,” she said.

Birthday bash.

In 2021, the Elizabeth Vale Soccer Club celebrated its 60th year supporting the community to lead active and healthy lives. The birthday celebration, turned community fun day, is the recipient of the Community Group and Initiative of the Year award.

Committee member and first-team player, Michael Francis, said it had been a great year on and off the pitch. “The club is focussed on a family-friendly atmosphere,” Michael said. “We have a diverse community in the area, so we are trying to get more kids involved as much as we can.”

Elizabeth Vale Soccer Club teamed up with the Variety Bash team, the Avengers, to host the free fun day which saw an exhibition match, activities, food and entertainment for all ages.

“The day was to celebrate what we have achieved in the amateur league over the years, raise awareness of the club, as well as attract new players and members,” he said.

The club has four senior and eight junior teams, as well as many members, volunteers and supporters. Michael said receiving the award was the “icing on the cake” to what had been a rollercoaster of a year.

STREETLIGHT Active Young Citizenship, Jessica Ferdinands, and Active Citizenship, Ben Rowe, from Streetlight.

Shining a light on local youth.

Streetlight’s co-founder, Ben Rowe, and Project Manager, Jessica Ferdinands, are the inaugural recipients of Playford’s Active Citizenship and Young Citizenship Award. The duo is active in the community connecting and empowering young people to reach their full potential.

Ben and his wife, Anni, established Streetlight about six years ago and continue to offer a safe place for local youth to hang out at the Elizabeth City Centre and local skateparks. “I fundamentally believe our life is best lived when we are living it for others,” Ben said.

Streetlight prides itself on creating an engaging atmosphere where young people gather to interact and build relationships. “It’s the opportunity to get them connected into different services, get them engaged in school, engaged in employment and just succeeding in life,” Ben said. “Seeing they have value, they have potential and they’ve got a sense of purpose in life. That is at the heart of the whole service we provide – a sense of believing in people that others perhaps haven’t.”

During this time up to 80 volunteers have been trained to help mentor young people. One of those mentors is Jessica Ferdinands who joined the program about two years ago.

From running an art therapy program to coordinating Street Eats, a free virtual cooking program to help young people in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jessica has been influential in supporting Playford youth. “I had it on my heart to start up a cooking program for young people, so they could learn a healthy skill – but also engage in a positive community in the midst of lockdown,” Jessica said. “Each Monday we would drop ingredients off to young people’s doorsteps and then we would all hop online, and we would learn how to cook a healthy meal together.”

Jessica has also helped in the recruitment of new volunteers, successfully applied for grants and coordinated first aid and mental health training. Jessica said being involved in Streetlight has completely changed her life.

Are you “spaghetti ready” to hear the most wholesome song that is set to climb the top 50 singles chart?

The Playford Friends Group has written and produced a new song all about friendship and the things they love.

Each term the group sets goals to achieve with the latest accomplishment learning how to sing.

“They asked us what our favourite things were – our favourite food, our favourite activities – and then they mashed it all into a song,” participant Ann-Marie Kaczmarek said.

She and fellow vocalist, Janelle Gould, feature in the song that definitely “make me happy, [and] they make me giggly”.

“It was really, really fun to make the song,” Ann-Marie said. “Music makes me happy, I just love music. I was a little nervous at first, but once I got going it was fun.”

These born stars both “felt like professional celebrities” when in the studio recording the Playford Friends Group’s new track.

And move over Britney Spears. You can see Ann-Marie, Janelle and the rest of the troop carving up the dance floor in their accompanying clip.

“We just love to dance,” Janelle said. “We also have heaps of cool dance moves.”

The song was produced, recorded and filmed at Northern Sound System with the help of talented music professionals – singer Katie Pomery, project facilitator Marcus McFly, photographer Daniel Steinhert, and videographer Damon Sparkes.

“This was an amazing experience; the talented artists worked with us to create our sound and form our lyrics, supporting us to take the lead and be super creative and personalised,” program coordinator, Cyndi Neuzerling said. “This song shows everyone what we are all about.”

The Playford Friends Group is an NDIS funded program that supports adults with an intellectual disability to increase their social skills and promote community participation through group activities and introduction to services or locations available in their local community.

Virginia Main Street upgrades.

The City of Playford is currently tendering for the construction of the Virginia Main Street Upgrade. This project went through a rigorous community consultation process and the design has been based on what the community told us was important to Virginia.

The upgrade includes improved stormwater infrastructure, increased pedestrian and cyclist safety, a pedestrian priority crossing, new footpaths, new street trees and landscaping, water sensitive urban design elements, an upgrade to the Institute Park, and improved visual amenity throughout the main street area. “We can’t wait to progress this project for the Virginia community,” City of Playford Senior Project Manager Ben Woodrow said. “It will create a first impression that locals can be proud of.”

The Main Street Upgrade was originally planned for 2021, however the commencement was rescheduled in order to allow time for Council and SA Water to discuss the installation of sewer infrastructure within Old Port Wakefield Road whilst still meeting Council’s grant funding deadline obligations. These discussions have resulted in SA Water bringing forward their design works and providing sufficient detail to the project team prior to construction starting. This will help to ensure pre-work supporting the future sewer installation can be included in the upgrade to minimise future rework.

Council has also agreed to provide a land easement to SA Water for the construction of the pumping station infrastructure.

SA Water will progress with the detailed design and secure funding for the installation of sewerage within Virginia. This design will be proposed to the industry regulator, ESCOSA, for approval and delivery in the next regulatory determination period, 2024-28, unless funding can be secured earlier.

Council and SA Water will continue to work closely together throughout the project to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the community.

$12M works for Stebonheath Road.

Thousands of motorists a day will benefit from a long-awaited upgrade of Stebonheath Road in Munno Para, which begins this month. The project between Curtis and Fradd East roads is expected to cost about $12 million and will make it safer and easier to use for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

City of Playford Senior Project Manager Ben Woodrow said upgrading Stebonheath Road had been identified as a high priority project to meet growing demand. “The current condition of this part of Stebonheath Road is below the standard expected of a busy urban road, and its upgrade will be welcomed by the community,” Ben said. “In addition to improving the quality of the road, the project will also create a pedestrian and cyclist-friendly environment.”

Stebonheath Road is used by more than 8000 vehicles a day, and is on a major bus route. Traffic volumes are expected to increase with the future development of Playford Alive, east of the road.

Ben said a detailed design and tender process, to lift the road condition from rural to urban, was completed last year. “We’ve included new footpaths and a cycling path as part of the upgrade following requests from the community, which aligns with Council’s Cycling and Walking Strategy,” he said.

On-site works are likely to start in February with the relocation of underground services followed by the reconstruction of the road. “We acknowledge the construction will cause some disruption and we thank the community in advance for their patience,” he said. “We’ll keep affected residents informed throughout the project while community updates will be available on the City of Playford’s website and social media.”

Further engagement will continue with the community throughout the project. The upgrade is the second stage of the improvement works and follows the upgrading of Roseworthy Drive to Curtis Road, which was completed in November 2020. Council has received $9.5 million in State and Federal Government funding for all upgrades to Stebonheath Road. Stage two of this project is expected to be completed later this year.

At City of Playford, we have a strong commitment to our community to understand, listen and engage with you better. One of the ways we do this is through the delivery of an annual survey to help us understand your experiences living, working, studying and visiting Playford.

In 2021, the survey attracted 1461 responses from all corners of Playford. All up, you shared over 5200 pieces of valuable feedback which is being used by teams in Council to make decisions and plan for the needs of our growing city.

Your feedback revealed the things you love about Playford, as well as some of those areas which may need attention to improve your experience in Playford.

What we heard in 2021: •

We found there were higher levels of positive sentiment amongst people who live in older areas of Playford (such as the suburbs of Elizabeth, Smithfield and Smithfield Plains) and those aged 16-34 and 60 plus.

•

People who experienced frustration in Playford referred to the growing pains in their area, particularly Angle Vale and Virginia. Here, people want to feel more connected through a planned and considered footpath network to improve neighbourhood liveability as new developments are built.

•

When asked about city appearance, there was strong acknowledgment Council is doing its best, however abandoned shopping trolleys and illegally dumped rubbish are having a negative impact.

•

When it comes to connecting with you, we found many knew where to get Council information, but people are still unaware of the range of services available to them. There was also a desire for more community engagement opportunities.

•

Our community said they would like Council to ‘stick to the priorities’ when it comes to building infrastructure, maintenance of the city and maintaining service levels – and through this survey we have been able to understand what is highly valued, as well as the pain points that need further investigation and investment.

Releasing these results is just the start of many conversations. Already, results have been shared with our Council, our staff – and now our community. We will continue to use findings by working with teams in service planning and making sure your thoughts and experiences about Playford are taken into consideration.

We would like to thank every respondent for completing the 2021 survey and look forward to sharing with you how we are using this valuable information over the coming months.

Turning the sod on ACH Group’s aged care site within the Playford Health Precinct.

Groundbreaking health developments.

The start of a $40 million development across from the Lyell McEwin Hospital sees further evolution in the health precinct vision. The state-of-the-art residential care home, Healthia, is to be developed by ACH Group and offer educational and employment opportunities for those in the northern suburbs.

ACH Group CEO Frank Weits said it was an exciting and innovative residential aged care site. “Healthia will improve the health and lifestyle outcomes for Adelaide’s northern community and reimagine aged care,” Mr Weits said.

The development will include a 96-place residential care home comprising eight small-scale homes, each with 12 private rooms.

City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said the construction of Healthia was an important contributor to the Lyell McEwin Health Precinct. “Council’s vision has always been about making sure we have world class facilities in Playford and we are seeing that with Healthia, the NorthWest development, brand new car park and shops at the Elizabeth Vale Shopping Centre, a new multistorey medical centre and soon to be developed, a private hospital within this precinct,” Mayor Docherty said.

Northern Area Local Health Network CEO Maree Geraghty said Healthia’s location will complement the Lyell McEwin Hospital’s role as a major provider of acute health care in the north. “The establishment of a vibrant health precinct will allow us to increase collaboration with other service providers such as the ACH Group, which in turn will help ease pressure on our hospitals,” Ms Geraghty said.

The University of South Australia will co-locate with a general practice and student-led allied health clinic open to the public. Students will also undertake placement in the residential care home. Health and social services are one of Playford’s largest employment sectors and Healthia is set to create up to 180 jobs during construction and a further 66 ongoing positions.

The construction of Healthia is scheduled to welcome its first residents by June 2023.

The Ciampa family will make Riverlea their new home

New community takes shape.

More than 500 house and land lots have been sold in Playford’s newest community, Riverlea. The Ciampas is one family which is seeing their dream become a reality with construction to start on their new home this year.

“To actually be on Riverlea Boulevard, we can drive down Kapinka Parade and straight onto our block – it’s amazing, the best feeling ever,” Tamara Ciampa said. “We loved the masterplan and just can’t wait to bring up our family in the community.”

The grand entry to South Australia’s largest masterplanned community was officially opened in December 2021, linking residents to their homes via a new intersection on Port Wakefield Road.

Walker Corporation Executive Chairman Lang Walker AO said the entrance would welcome residents and visitors every day. “The Boulevard will eventually connect 12,000 residents to their new homes, seamlessly linking with Port Wakefield Road and onto the Northern Connector, into Adelaide’s City Centre,” Mr Walker said.

Walker Corporation is creating a community with 420 hectares of open space, 30 hectares of lakes surrounded by parks, bike paths and running tracks, four schools and four retail centres.

The lifestyle and services have been a huge attraction for young families like the Ciampas. “To be able to ride bikes, take the kids down the lake and have picnics – it will be great,” Tamara said.

The development of this new community will create 10,000 jobs for the South Australian economy, building over 12,000 homes for 30,000 residents.

Nat soars to new heights in fast jets.

Flight Lieutenant Natalie Giles punched the F/A-18B through the sound barrier, leaving a sonic boom in her wake. Strapped in the seat behind the pilot, she was handed the controls of the $70 million warbird for a hair-raising flight 20,000 feet over Australia’s east coast.

“We flew at twice the speed of sound. You’re flying so fast you don’t hear the sonic boom until the pilot tells you ‘we just broke the sound barrier’,” said Flt Lt Giles, who grew up in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

“We pulled 8.5Gs in some tight turns and then finished off with a coastal run off RAAF base Williamtown (air base near Newcastle).”

The exhilarating hour-long sortie was a 77 Squadron tradition to farewell operational clerks who were moving to their next posting. Over more than 20 years in the Royal Australian Air Force, Flt Lt Giles’ career has taken her to the skies over Australia, supporting the COVID-19 and bushfire responses and to multiple deployments in the Middle East.

On Anzac Day, she will pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by defence personnel before her and the impact war has on society. “It seems more important than ever that younger people attend the services to understand the lessons of the past, particularly given the state of the world at the moment,” she said.

Flt Lt Giles returned home to Adelaide last year to work as a Public Affairs Officer at 464 Squadron at RAAF Base Edinburgh. She has left the RAAF fulltime service but is continuing to work three days a week as a reservist.

Flt Lt Giles was the first member of her family to join the Australian Defence Force, inspired by serving her country. “I had a level of pride joining the defence force. I love wearing my uniform but what I’ve noticed even more is how proud my family are of me,” she said. “A lot hasn’t changed as a reservist. I still feel part of that defence community and I’ve made some brilliant friends who are like family to me.”

Green light for organics.

If you own a green bin in Playford, you’re in a great position to fight food waste. Just over 30 per cent of the contents of our red lid general waste bins in Playford are comprised of food scraps, which ends up in landfill.

Every banana peel, chop bone, or pumpkin skin you can take out of your red bin and put into the green FOGO (Food Organics Garden Organics) bin, can make a real difference.

Once in the green bin, your food scraps will go on to be processed into valuable compost, and returned to enrich the soil – where it will support the growth of new food and other plantings.

Pretty much anything organic can go in. A general rule of thumb is ‘if it grows, it goes!’ In other words, if it was once ‘alive’ it has the green light – with the exception of large logs and tree limbs, which are too heavy for the bin and don’t break down in the composting process.

Here are some examples of what can go into your green bin; •

Egg shells, fruit and veggie scraps, meat, seafood and bones – cooked and raw. Anything left on your plate after dinner can go in.

•

Other organic things you might not think of, such as pizza boxes (with leftovers), used tissues and paper towel, hair and nail clippings – yours and your pets, dog poo and organic kitty litter. Also, plain brown corrugated cardboard (without waxy finishes or high colour images), and egg cartons can also go in.

•

And last but not least, all of your garden trimmings, such as small branches and leaves, weeds and lawn clippings.

A few things that don’t go in; •

Gardening equipment like old hoses, gloves or tools, large tree limbs or logs, and no soft plastics or biodegradable plastics (except those marked as ‘compostable’.)
