Taijutsu for Adults
Unlike most Martial Arts, training at the Temple Bujinkan Dojo is conducted in a friendly and non-competitive atmosphere. Under the guidance of black belt instructors, students train together assisting each other in learning the techniques. SCW Certified Personal Trainer
“After playing collegiate basketball and earning a mathematics degree at Texas Woman’s University, I married my husband and had three boys. While attending a gym to lose those post pregnancy pounds, I was introduced to TRX and was immediately hooked! Despite never teaching a group fitness class, I attended the TRX Suspension Training Course in 2011 and the rest is history. I have been teaching and training in different settings ever since. I am both a certified personal trainer, and I hold a top level TRX certification as a TEAM Certified Coach. As an ambassador of TRX, I live by the TRX motto of Making Your Body Your Machine! ”

Barbara Reis My Summit Story:
I came to the Summit in May of 2017 after having a total knee replacement 4 weeks earlier. I advanced as far as the physical therapist could take me and suggested I hire a personal trainer to progress further. I toured the Summit and immediately began working with trainer, Angi Johnson. We set goals and began working out 3 days a week. I have been so pleased with my knee rehab as well as the benefits to my overall fitness level.

Over the holidays with family, was ancestry a topic of discussion? Why not delve into finding out more about family history and establishing a family tree? Long before the Internet, there were many outlets developed for documenting family facts. Our expert, Bryan Davis, a local genealogist, will share countless ways to dig up long-ago facts stored in old family bibles, photo albums and scrapbooks; along with court records, legal documents and certificates. Even old cemetery plots can provide long-lost information. From those archives he will then navigate enthusiasts to use the endless resources of the Internet, along with these findings, to establish an active, electronic family tree using Ancestry. com. This class meets twice weekly for 5 weeks. For more information call 254.298.5403. Day

Terror in the Theater: Fifties Fears October 27, 2018 – January 12, 2019 From the American Heritage Center, Terror in the Theater showcases posters from classic 1950s’ sciencefiction cinema that were a product of the fears of the Cold War period, focusing on alien invasions, atomic mutations, and infiltration of human society by a menace that is not of this Earth. The movies of the ‘50s sci-fi era inspired a whole new generation of authors and filmmakers, leading to such blockbusters as “Star Wars,” “Alien,” “The Terminator,” and “Independence Day,” among others.
