a riconferma: quali programmi ha in agenda per l’immediato futuro e per gli anni a venire? «La fiducia dimostratami dai cittadini per la seconda volta è un motivo di orgoglio ma anche una grande responsabilità. Il mio impegno e quello della mia squadra è focalizzato sullo sviluppo del territorio e delle opportunità di crescita per i suoi abitanti, per i visitatori e per gli investitori. Tra tutti i punti della nostra agenda di governo per i prossimi 5 anni, posso affermare che la priorità resta la tutela dell’ambiente, il rispetto del paesaggio e dei litorali, la valorizzazione della destinazione attraverso progetti sostenibili. Chi ama Arzachena, la Costa Smeralda e la Sardegna, deve trovare qui un luogo in cui innovazione e rispetto dell’ambiente vanno di pari passo». Come intendete celebrare i 60 anni della Costa Smeralda? «Celebriamo il 60° compleanno della Costa Smeralda e della nascita di Porto Cervo con ancor maggiore entusiasmo perché coincide con un altro grande anniversario, quello dei 100 anni di autonomia di Arzachena. Un Comune giovane che ha visto cambiare radicalmente il suo destino 60 anni fa, grazie al sogno del principe Karim Aga Khan, che ha capito fin da subito il potenziale di questa terra e ha posato la prima pietra di quello che oggi è il borgo più conosciuto nel mondo del nostro territorio. Il Consorzio Costa Smeralda ha fissato un calendario di eventi che da luglio a settembre animano il cuore del villaggio di Porto Cervo con musica, incontri culturali, spettacoli. Noi saremo presenti con uno stand anche al Waterfront sul porto per raccontare i 6.000 anni di storia e i 100 anni di autonomia della destinazione». Come state vivendo il post pandemia a livello turistico? «Fin dal periodo pasquale i segnali per la stagione turistica si sono mostrati positivi, malgrado le incertezze dovute al post pandemia e al conflitto in Ucraina. C’è tanta voglia di viaggiare e di mettere da parte le preoccupazioni che per due anni hanno avuto la meglio nelle vite di tutti in vari ambiti. Arzachena rappresenta il luogo ideale per una vacanza da primavera sino all’autunno. È raggiungibile con un’ora di volo dalle principali città italiane e con circa due ore dalle maggiori capitali europee. Le presenze turistiche ad aprile e maggio sono state numerose, soprattutto grazie agli amanti delle attività outdoor e agli sportivi. Da giugno anche le strutture ricettive 5 stelle contattate confermano dati di occupazione ottimi. In generale, siamo fiduciosi». Un identikit del cliente tipo della Costa Smeralda «Chi viene in Costa Smeralda cerca esclusività nei servizi e nell’offerta ricettiva, cerca una destinazione ricca di fascino che possa garantire esperienze intense e diversificate, a partire dall’impatto con le bellezze naturalistiche, con l’offerta gastronomica, con la qualità delle proposte di accoglienza e la varietà di

intrattenimento. Il mercato delle ville è senza dubbio tra i più gettonati ultimamente. Molti clienti alto spendenti prediligono affittare mega ville con grandi giardini e piscine scenografiche per godere in libertà di spazi e tempi con la famiglia e gli amici. Altri clienti arrivano in yacht e amano vivere la vita del villaggio la sera o nei locali notturni. C’è anche chi, invece, predilige una scelta più organizzata e il comfort offerto dalle strutture ricettive a 5 stelle, magari dotati di centri benessere, impianti sportivi e ristoranti rinomati, avendo tutto a portata di mano senza muoversi dall’hotel». Due parole per concludere «La Costa Smeralda rappresenta per Arzachena un punto di riferimento che da 60 anni caratterizza la destinazione e l’ha portata alla ribalta del mercato internazionale del turismo: un volano che ha consentito al territorio di crescere in modo esponenziale, trainando l’economia legata al comparto in Sardegna. Per chi gestisce un territorio simile, la sfida è sempre ai massimi livelli. Abbiamo il compito di contribuire a evidenziare le peculiarità di questa terra per continuare a essere attrattivi e a fare la differenza rispetto ad altre mete del Mediterraneo».

he reconfirmation: what are your plans for the immediate future and the years to come? “The trust shown to me by citizens for the second time is a source of pride and a great responsibility. The commitment of my team and mine is focused on the region’s development and growth opportunities for its inhabitants, visitors, and investors. Among all the points of our government plan for the next 5 years, I can say that the priority remains the protection of the environment, respect for landscape and coastlines, and the destination’s valorisation through sustainable projects. Those who love Arzachena, the Costa Smeralda and Sardinia must find here a place where innovation and respect for the environment go hand in hand”. How do you plan to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Costa Smeralda? “We are going to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Costa Smeralda and the birth of Porto Cervo with even greater enthusiasm because it coincides with another significant anniversary: Arzachena’s 100 years of autonomy. It is a young Municipality that has seen its destiny radically change 60 years ago, thanks to the vision of Prince Karim Aga Khan: he immediately understood the potential of this land and laid the foundation stone of what is now the world’s most famous town in our region. The Consorzio Costa Smeralda has set a calendar of events that will animate Porto Cervo’s heart with music, cultural meetings, and shows from July to September. We will be present with a stand at the Waterfront to tell the 6.000-year history and the 100 years of Arzachena’s autonomy”. How are you experiencing the post-pandemic in tourism? “Since the Easter period, the signs for the tourist season have been positive despite the post-pandemic uncertainties and the conflict in Ukraine. There is indeed a great desire to travel and put aside the worries that for two years have

prevailed in various areas of everyone’s lives. Arzachena is the ideal place for a holiday from spring to autumn and is reachable in one hour by plane from the main Italian cities or about two hours from the major European capitals. We had numerous tourists in April and May, mainly thanks to lovers of outdoor activities and sports. Since June, the 5-star resorts reported excellent occupancy data as well. In general, we are confident.” A sketch of Costa Smeralda’s typical customer “Those who come to Costa Smeralda seek exclusivity in services and accommodation offers, looking for a charming destination that can guarantee intense and diversified experiences, including the contact with the natural beauties, the gastronomic offers, the hospitality quality and the variety of entertainment. The villa rental market is undoubtedly one of the most popular lately. Many high-spending clients prefer to rent great villas with large gardens and spectacular pools to freely enjoy spaces and time with family and friends. Others arrive by yacht and like to enjoy the evenings in the village or its nightlife. On the other hand, some prefer a more organised choice and the comfort offered by the 5-star resorts, possibly equipped with wellness centres, sports facilities and renowned restaurants, having everything at hand without leaving the hotel.” A few words to conclude “The Costa Smeralda represents for Arzachena a point of reference that for 60 years has characterised it and brought it to the forefront of the international tourism market: a boost that has allowed the area to grow exponentially, driving the sector economy in Sardinia. However, for those who manage a similar region, the challenge is always at the highest level. We have the task to contribute to highlighting this region’s peculiarities to continue to be attractive and to make the difference compared to other destinations of the Mediterranean”.

his is how Gianni Rizzotti begins his “photographic tale”. Born in Friuli and living in Milan, he is famous for collaborating with international agencies for important fashion and advertising brands. This is his sixth photographic book, and he tells us about it. Oru Nostru is a photographic project that tells the story of the Sardinian Land and its excellence with the passion and pride that have always distinguished it. The book is a journey and a personal path of research throughout the region, from south to north, developed thanks to the word of mouth of the protagonists that Gianni has met: time and time again, they have suggested new discoveries and all the people who appear in the book are known for their exceptional craftsmanship, cuisine, culture and everything that makes Sardinia unique.

Black and white art form predominate in the photographic project. However, some images could only be taken in colour, which, with its power and communicative force, was too essential for certain shots to be removed. Everything in the book is there because excellent and unique: the light in the cave sought at a particular time of the year; the centenarian women with curious eyes and full of experience; the wild nature. Inside the book are images of Paolo Fresu, Antonio Marras, and byssus and embroidery artisans; shots of Sa Carrela’ e Nanti in Santu Lussurgiu and the events in Ottana, Mamoiada, Sant’Antioco, food and wine excellences, art and culture places, unique and wonderful nature. In autumn the book will be presented at the Man Museum in Nuoro and at Book City Milano in November.

Chi ha avuto la possibilità di visitare questi luoghi tende a tornare, a voler ripetere l’esperienza in un ambiente che merita di essere esplorato sotto e sopra la superficie. I numerosi centri diving e noleggio barche di qualsiasi tipo e dimensione, offrono quotidianamente escursioni in luoghi nei quali si riesce a comprendere perché da molti queste coste siano definite il Paradiso. Dalle barche talvolta si ha l’impressione di trovarsi sospesi, con fondali ricchi di flora marina e fauna, che si lasciano apprezzare dai subacquei che solo nell’area del Parco di Tavolara possono contare su 18 punti di immersione. Per quanto riguarda il Parco Nazionale dell’Arcipelago di La Maddalena, questo si estende su una

From the boats, one sometimes has the impression of being suspended above the stunning seabed rich in marine flora and fauna, which is very appreciated by divers who can count on 18 diving points in Tavolara Park’s area only. Si apriva così l’era dei Maxi RIB (acronimo di Rigid Inflatable Boat). Prima di allora (e addirittura dalla fine dell’800) il cosiddetto gommone era un mezzo pratico e smontabile, versatile e alla portata di tutti. Ma poi le parti pneumatiche sono state abbinate a scafi rigidi, in vetroresina, composito o alluminio, e i gommoni si sono tramutati in veri e propri yacht... con la gomma intorno! E con tutte i comfort del caso, cabine e servizi inclusi. I Maxi RIB sono oggi mezzi molto amati dagli armatori di grandi yacht, che li utilizzano come super tender e chase boat, declinati a lussuosi mezzi di servizio personalizzati nei colori e nelle finiture e spesso scelti walkaround, con tuga ridotta per dare massimo spazio vivibile all’esterno. ra volumi plastici e un layout complesso, l’abitazione si integra nel territorio della costa Smeralda, con un lungo affaccio sul mare, e si apre su un ampio cortile ombreggiato, protetto dal vento e illuminato solo dalla luce del tramonto, attorno al quale si articolano spazi e terrazze per circa 350 mq. La casa è plasmata come se fosse uno dei massi levigati dall’acqua e dal vento del litorale: ha un colore grigio che rievoca i ciottoli, con un perimetro fluido ora ritagliato da vuoti, aperture e tunnel, ora con sporgenze che rendono il suo aspetto ancora più spontaneo e affine alla morfologia del luogo. “Fin dall’infanzia mi sono arrampicata sulle rocce sarde, di cui conosco a memoria tutti i rilievi e le forme fantastiche che hanno nutrito il mio immaginario. La casa in Sardegna si inserisce in quei volumi naturali. Il committente è in sintonia con questi temi e mi ha lasciato la libertà totale di creare una disposizione poco borghese degli spazi e degli utilizzi. Gli ho promesso “un palazzo da abitare a piedi scalzi” che ora ha preso forma” racconta la direttrice dello studio di architettura, con sede a Parigi, che ha incastonato le stanze della villa, sviluppata per 750mq, tra le preesistenze del lotto. Il piano 0 è fatto di blocchi separati, dotati di zone notte con la massima privacy, e su questo si imposta ‘a ponte’ il livello superiore, dedicato al living e completato da due grandi suite con servizi. Le pareti esterne della villa sono quasi interamente in intonaco grigio antracite, liscio, che si armonizza con il granito utilizzato per l’ingresso e per alcuni degli spazi esterni. ith plastic volumes and a complex layout, the house is integrated into the Costa Smeralda’s territory with a long sea view. It opens onto a generous shady courtyard, protected from the wind and illuminated by the sunset light, around which outdoor spaces and terraces extend for about 350 square meters. The house is shaped as if it were one of the boulders smoothed by the water and wind of the coast: it has a grey colour that evokes the pebbles, with a fluid perimeter cut by voids, openings, and tunnels, or with protrusions that make its appearance even more similar to the place’s morphology. “I have climbed the Sardinian rocks since childhood, and I know by heart all their fantastic shapes that have nourished my imagination. Ne sono un esempio gli ambienti bagno, in cui le ampie finestrature con morbidi tendaggi in tonalità avorio permettono di accedere direttamente ai terrazzi, con nicchie in pietra e un’immagine di grande benessere dato dalle forme, dai materiali e dal rapporto con la vegetazione. I promised him ‘a building to live in barefoot’ that has now taken shape”, says the founder of the architecture studio, based in Paris, who set the villa’s rooms, developed on 750 square meters, among the pre-existing parts of the lot. The ground floor comprises separate blocks with sleeping areas and maximum privacy. On it, the upper level is ‘bridged’, dedicated to the living room, and completed by two large suites with ensuites. The villa’s external walls are plastered in a smooth anthracite grey that harmonises with the granite used for the entrance and some outdoor spaces. In contrast with this camouflage, small ceramic tiles, hand-decorated with shades of blue and turquoise patterns, define indoor and outdoor environments with Mediterranean references.

Nel progetto di Stera Architectures, Tubone è inserito con alimentazione ad acqua e replica la cromia selezionata per le rubinetterie, gli accessori e l’involucro interno, in un gioco dove la composizione progettuale è essenziale e allo stesso tempo vincolata in modo indelebile al luogo e al contesto, di cui ne diventa un manifesto contemporaneo.

Coatings in wood, smoothed resin, and natural marble of several types, are placed in large and bright spaces dominated by white, where the boundaries between inside and outside are lost to merge into the landscape. The large windows with soft ivory curtains in the bathrooms allow direct access to the terraces, with stone niches and an image of natural well-being, given by the shapes and materials in direct relationship with the vegetation. In the bathrooms, the soft profiles of the architecture can be found in the built-in washbasins, the shower compartments, and the radiators Tubone by Antrax IT, chosen in white. Designed by Andrea Crosetta, Tubone is made of a tubular steel component with a considerable section - 60 mm used to create an elongated ring. The shape allows it to be developed into different elements that can be placed side-by-side or stacked and used as a towel rail when fitted horizontally. In the project of Stera Architectures, Tubone is inserted as a water radiator and replicates the selected colours for taps and accessories in a game where the design component is essential and, at the same time, unavoidably bound to the place and context, of which it becomes a contemporary manifesto.

The Armani Group has opened its first Giorgio Armani boutique in Porto Cervo, located in La Passeggiata, which faces the resort’s main square. The unique concept design of the store has been specially studied by Giorgio Armani in collaboration with his team of architects and fits perfectly into the architectural context of the existing building, called Il Leccio, with the typical portico in front. The boutique, whose opening follows the seasonal rhythm, is characterised by the presence of the stylised pattern of blue and light gold palms. The detail is also present on the tables dotting the space, on the display elements, as a furnishings background, and on the windows, creating a visual connection between interior and exterior. Il 2022 sarà un anno davvero speciale. Perché oltre ai 60 anni dalla nascita della Costa Smeralda e ai cento dall’autonomia di Arzachena, ci sarà da festeggiare anche un altro importante traguardo storico: i 50 anni dall’inaugurazione del campo del Pevero Golf Club. Era il 1972, infatti, quando questo sport sbarcò per la prima volta in Sardegna portando sull’isola un nuovo concetto

di turismo sportivo. Il merito, come del resto per tutto ciò che è stato poi realizzato in Costa Smeralda, fu del principe Karim Aga Khan che ingaggiò l’architetto numero uno al mondo per campi da golf: Robert Trent Jones. Il fine era quello di disegnare uno dei Green più belli al mondo incastonato tra il golfo del Pevero e la baia di Cala di Volpe. 2022 will be a remarkable year: in addition to the 60 years since the birth of the Costa Smeralda and the hundred years since the municipal autonomy of Arzachena, there will also be another important historic milestone: the 50 years since the inauguration of the Pevero Golf Club course. Attorno al piazzale della chiesa e tra le viuzze del paese, stanno in bella mostra bancarelle cariche di prodotti tipici, dolci, vini e formaggi della regione. Ma non solo, perché qui sono presenti anche piccole botteghe dove acquistare creazioni in ferro battuto e ceramica di artisti e artigiani locali. La località è caratterizzata da una spiaggia di sabbia rosata incuneata in una insenatura di roccia, bagnata da un mare limpidissimo e dal fondale sabbioso e leggermente degradante verso fondali multicolori. Una punta di diamante di un patrimonio molto ampio di spiagge che costituiscono il litorale budonese, sul quale ci si può spostare anche grazie a una fitta rete di mezzi pubblici e monopattini in sharing. A beach characterises this town with pink sand wedged in a rocky bay, a crystal-clear sea and a sandy sea floor slightly degrading towards a multicoloured seabed. It is the jewel in the crown of a vast heritage of beaches that make up the coastline of Budoni, which also enjoys a dense network of public transport and scooter sharing.

Il Comune di Arzachena ha predisposto il calendario degli eventi estivi con oltre 60 giorni di appuntamenti da giugno a ottobre dell’Arzachena Summer Festival. Tra i grandi eventi uno dei concerti della XXXV edizione del Festival Internazionale Time in Jazz con l’esibizione della Sudoku Killer, band guidata dalla contrabbassista Caterina Palazzi e il Festival internazionale Isole che parlano per l’anteprima della XXVI edizione alla tomba dei giganti di Coddu Ecchju. Per animare l’intero territorio tornano anche l’Italia Polo Challenge Porto Cervo, il festival musicale Sette Not(t)e, il Cinema in piazza, il Silent Festival con le serate sul mare di Silent disco, le Notti bianche nel borgo di Cannigione e nel centro storico, gli Incontri con l’autore a Baja Sardinia, le serate con musica e fuochi d’artificio di Ferragosto a Baja Sardinia e Cannigione, le sagre dei piatti tipici galluresi, la X edizione del Rally terra Sarda e la III edizione del torneo Beach volley Time with Stars. The Municipality of Arzachena has announced the summer events calendar for the 2022 edition of the Arzachena Summer Festival, with over 60 days of events from June to October in the name of music, folklore, sports, cinema, festivals for children, street food and street artists. 2022 boasts a vibrant calendar of world-class races organised by the YCCS club wanted by Prince Karim Aga Kahn. If July and August are traditionally reserved for club members, with the Coppa Europa Smeralda 888 and the YCCS Members Championship, September is the month of the “big boats”, with the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup followed by the Swan world Cup, which will bring a fleet of over 100 boats to Porto Cervo. In addition, between the Maxi and the Rolex Swan Cup, a new offshore race will be held between Porto Cervo and Montecarlo, with which the Yccs have been twinned for over 20 years. Il 2022 vanta un calendario ricchissimo di regate di livello internazionale organizzate da YCCS, il club voluto dal principe Karim Aga Kahn. Se luglio e agosto sono tradizionalmente riservati ai soci del club, con la Coppa Europa Smeralda 888 e il Campionato sociale, settembre si conferma mese delle “big boats”, con la Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup (edizione 32) seguita dal raduno mondiale delle barche Swan, che porterà a Porto Cervo una flotta di oltre 100 imbarcazioni. Tra la Maxi e la Rolex Swan Cup, l’inserimento di una nuova regata di altura tra Porto Cervo e Monaco, con cui lo YCCS è gemellato da oltre 20 anni. Tra gli eventi anche la regata d’altura Palermo-Porto CervoMontecarlo a fine agosto, e il supporto all’Accademia Navale di Livorno e all’omonimo Yacht Club in occasione della Ran 630, una regata di altura di oltre 600 miglia.

I sessant’anni dalla nascita di una delle destinazioni turistiche internazionali più esclusive, celebrati con una mostra di foto, documenti e video all’Art-Port Gallery dell’Aeroporto di Olbia, al primo piano delle aree partenze e inaugurata lunedì 13 giugno. “Happy Birthday Costa Smeralda” raccoglie foto, documenti e video per celebrare l’eredità culturale della Costa Smeralda. Le immagini, provenienti dall’archivio del fotografo Nello Di Salvo (@Coast Magazine), del Consorzio, dello YCCS e dell’architetto Enzo Satta, restituiscono il passaggio dai toni del bianco e nero dei primi anni Sessanta con la creazione di un modello, uno stile e un linguaggio architettonico unico, che ha portato nel mondo il marchio e il nome di “Costa Smeralda”, ai colori brillanti e vividi degli ultimi 10 anni. Nel mese di luglio “Happy Birthday Costa Smeralda” sarà spostata al piano terra. The sixtieth anniversary of the birth of one of the most exclusive international tourist destinations was celebrated with an exhibition of photos, documents, and videos at the ArtPort Gallery of Olbia Airport, on the first floor of the departure areas. Inside the exhibition, a collection of photos, documents, and videos celebrate the cultural heritage of the Costa Smeralda. The images, coming from the archive of the photographer Nello Di Salvo (@Coast Magazine), the Consortium, the YCCS, and the architect Enzo Satta, convey - as in a dream - the transition from the black/white tones of the early 1960s (with the creation of a model, a style and a unique architectural language, which has brought the brand and the name of “Costa Smeralda” into the world), to the bright and vivid colours of the last ten years. In July, “Happy Birthday Costa Smeralda” will be moved to the ground floor.

In Sardinia, particularly in the Golfo Aranci, it is pretty easy to spot dolphins. The species usually encountered are the Tursiopes and the Striped dolphins. In the north, there are many places where it is possible to observe dolphins in the wild: the area of Alghero with the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia and Isola Piana, the Golfo Aranci and the beautiful marine resort of Stintino. The Maddalena archipelago is also a good observation point, as Costa Smeralda is, with the coasts of Olbia and Porto Cervo in the lead. Tour operators organise many excursions to spot dolphins in their natural habitat, particularly in the waters of the Golfo Aranci, where those mammals like to get noticed.

8 DOLPHIN WATCHING

In Sardegna, e in particolare nel Golfo Aranci, è molto facile avvistare i delfini Tursiopi e i Stenella striati. Tra le tante località di avvistamento, al nord spiccano la zona di Alghero con l’Area Marina protetta di Capo Caccia e Isola Piana, il Golfo Aranci e Stintino. Anche l’arcipelago della Maddalena è un buon punto di osservazione, così come la Costa Smeralda, con in testa le coste di Olbia e Porto Cervo. Sono moltissime le escursioni organizzate dai tour operator nelle acque del Golfo Aranci, un luogo davvero privilegiato dai delfini. Da questa lingua di terra, la cui punta estrema è Capo Figari, partono le escursioni in barca all’insegna del dolphinwatching. Durante la gita è possibile ammirare anche le isolette di Tavolara e Molara.

Nei quattro punti cardinali del borgo e del porto di Porto Rotondo, con il patrocinio del Comune di Olbia, in collaborazione con il Consorzio di Porto Rotondo, la Fondazione PortoRotondo, lo Yacht Club e la Marina, è in mostra l’installazione d’arte urbana del maestro Marco Nereo Rotelli, costituita da quattro grandi opere di libri in marmo di Carrara, che rappresenta il dialogo più profondo tra uomo e natura, attraverso le citazioni scolpite nel marmo di celebri poeti e autori di fama internazionale. Comunicare cultura accompagnando visitatori, armatori e collezionisti è la mission di Porto Rotondo per l’estate 2022, per coniugare i valori del mare unitamente all’arte e alla joie de vivre. In mostra dal 14 giugno al 20 ottobre 2022.

Quest’estate la Costa Smeralda compie 60 anni e per festeggiare è stato organizzato un ricco calendario di eventi, iniziato a fine maggio con il Premio Costa Smeralda mentre da luglio a settembre avranno luogo concerti, presentazioni di libri con importanti autori della scena letteraria nazionale, talk show giornalistici, feste popolari e diversi eventi per i più piccini. Da segnalare Le Voci della Lirica Internazionale, la grande artista Amii Stewart ad agosto tra gli ospiti della serata di celebrazione della festa dei 60 anni nella piazzetta principale di Porto Cervo e Aka7 e Myss Keta per i più giovani. A luglio sarà inoltre presentato un libro dedicato alla Costa Smeralda pubblicato dalla prestigiosa casa editrice Assouline di New York.
