Swan, now part of the Sanlorenzo Group and currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, has unveiled the first renderings of the Swan Alloy 44. The new aluminium sailing yacht is designed by Malcolm McKeon in collaboration with the shipyard’s New Product Development and Technical Office teams. The Alloy 44 is the Nautor Swan’s first aluminium supermaxi and represents a major step forward in terms of innovation and design flexibility. Indeed, aluminium opens new possibilities for customisation, improves the stiffness-to-weight ratio, and simplifies maintenance throughout the yacht’s lifecycle,
while preserving the distinctive Swan proportions and profile. Massimo Perotti, President and CEO of Sanlorenzo, confirmed that the Swan Alloy 44 will be the first yacht completed at Nautor Swan’s new production facility in Viareggio. The aluminium hull is currently under construction at Dutch specialist Gouwerok Yard. According to McKeon, aluminium provides greater freedom in both exterior lines and interior layout compared with composite construction, combining elegance, functionality, and an effortless sailing experience.
