ontact with nature and the relationship with it is fundamental. Now more than ever yachts are a form of escape and adventure, and bringing the stylistic traits of a terrestrial home on board is no longer enough. Nowadays design and construction processes aim to make the yacht part of its surroundings, making as little environmental impact as possible. Even more so at a time when the industry has the wind in its sails. According to the Business Research Company, the global yacht market is expected to grow from $7.70 billion in 2021 to $8.22 billion in 2022, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.75%. The global yacht market is expected to reach $9.97 billion in 2026. What this means is luxury tourism with a demand for ever larger craft with spacious, versatile and open interiors. Customisation is at a maximum, comfort is a priority and new areas acquire importance: today’s owners demand extra space for a home theatre, gym, massage rooms, private spaces where they can work or hold online meetings and quiet, isolated areas. Designers and builders focus on introducing eco-friendly material, with ecodecking replacing natural teak and ecological paints and varnishes, linen panelling, bio-resins and recycled fabrics and leathers. A crucial factor in rendering yachts more sustainable is hull efficiency and weight limitation to generate consumption and emissions. The war between the Ukraine and Russia also means that fuel supplies can no longer be taken for granted, so serious consideration must now be given to alternative sources of power. Some in the yacht industry are investigating hydrogen generated from filtered, de-ionised sea water. The route towards this goal has been set. Discover all this in this special section of The One Yacht and Design, with the latest that the yacht industry has to offer!

This is where owners’ new havens are crafted and moulded. A mix of organisational skills, targeted research, new technologies, and astonishing artisanal skills produce truly extraordinary yachts. The byword is absolute customisable. With, of course, a close eye on innovation and, most importantly of all today, sustainability

BAGLIETTO ATTITUDE

The DOM133 is a 41-meter yacht that perfectly combines the need for large volumes with functional spaces, all with unfaltering continuity between inside and out. And where the idea of a ‘home away from home’ lies at the core of this series

Boasting the exterior design of Stefano Vafiadis and the interior design of Ezequiel Farca, the 41m a luminium motoryacht Attitude was first built on speculation. The yacht has since found its home with an owner looking for a metal yacht with large volumes, expansive spaces with close connections to the sea and a high level of customisation possibilities – Baglietto’s DOM133 was perfect for these requirements.

With her 8.7 beam, Attitude has very generous interior volumes and, as a result, is able to offer lifestyle solutions that are un matched by typical yachts of this size. The main deck layout, for example, has been conceived and designed to ensure a smooth, free flow between interior and exterior areas, which creates a pleasant and convivial atmosphere. The main salon located on this deck has large floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows that offer stunning views and plenty of natural light and, once fully open, convert this area into a natural extension of the aft cockpit. Stefano Vafiadis’ exterior design is extremely articulated and sophisticated, with modern and captivating lines. In fact, Atti tude’s lines are so rich in details – with changes of surfaces and the presence of grilles that recall automotive designs – that only a malleable material like aluminium would suffice.

Another key element of Attitude’s overall design is the beach club, which has now become the hallmark of all the latest-gene ration yachts to be built by the Italian yacht builder. Spanning two levels, it incorporates a magnificent pool that, when not in

use, features an innovative lifting bottom that rises to make the already spacious even cockpit even larger. A second pool can be found on the sun deck.

Interior designer Ezequiel Farca completely redesigned the in teriors for this project, adapting the layout and decor according to the owner’s requirements. The interior aesthetic is conceived in continuity with the exteriors: the materials and essences are designed to link the uniqueness of the different spaces on board. The colours are warm and cosy, as are the fabrics and upholstery, which are extremely textured and maintain a balance between the soft materials and hard surfaces.

As well as being versatile in terms of function, Attitude is also versatile in terms of cruising capabilities. Ideal for trans-ocea nic cruising, she stands out for her aluminium hull and limited draught of 2.15m, making her suitable for navigation even in the shallowest of waters. Furthermore, two Caterpillar C32 engines allow this yacht to reach an impressive maximum speed of 17 knots.

The ‘DOM’ in DOM133 stands for ‘Domus’, meaning ‘home’ in Latin. Indeed, the idea of a ‘home away from home’ lies at the core of this series of mid-size, aluminum cruisers modelled around the functional and lifestyle needs of modern yacht ow ners. The line presents a distinctive family feeling by combining contemporary exterior lines inspired by automotive design with generous interior volumes and extensive open-air spaces. baglietto.com

This page, DOM133 is defined by a flexible, splitlevel beach club with an pool. The pool’s floor can be raised or lowered to increase the use of space in the cockpit. Opposite page, the interiors make use of light woods and linen upholstery with a variety of different textures throughout

questions to Fabio Ermetto CCO at Baglietto

How has the DOM133 been received by the industry? Attitude is the first DOM133 but the second in the DOM line after the DOM123 Run Away. She has immediately proved to be a successful project: with only the first unit delivered in July and still not launched to the public, seven hulls have already been sold to date. The next available unit is number eight.

The DOM133 is modelled around the functional and lifestyle needs of modern yacht owners – what are the main ways it achieves this? Choosing aluminium to build this yacht particularly proved to be a winning strategic solution. As a matter of fact, when compared to fibre glass, aluminium ensures not only higher quality and onboard comfort, but also greater flexibility and the possibility to make changes that will result in highly customised exteriors. Customisation, though, reaches its peak in the interiors, where we can meet our client’s wish for unique, ad-hoc solutions. Also worth highlighting is the reduced draught, which allows varied navigation even in the shallow waters of the Bahamas.

The beach club is an interesting feature on board the DOM133 – how do you think the two levels enhances the on-board experience? The concept of the two-level beach club stems from the idea of giving guests the same space in any situation, whether at anchor or in port – it is multi-purpose. Unlike beaches areas with opening hatches that do not allow use in port, the stern with a swimming pool and a liftable bottom allows it to be used in any situation.

What is your favourite feature of the DOM133? I would say that my favourite feature is the aft area of the main deck. The glass door can be fully opened to create total unity between inside and outside What can the industry expect from Baglietto in the future? As I mentioned, the DOM133 is a great success, alongside our other flagship model, the T52, of which we have sold no less than seven untis without the first hull having been launched yet. At the last Monaco Yacht Show, we presented the latest evolution of the T52: the T60 is now our top of the range. But we are also considering a new project of a different size to enhance the DOM line.
