questions to Alberto Galassi CEO Ferretti Group A yacht that emphasises the link between sailing and art. What does this combination mean to Alberto Galassi as the owner? The most immediate point of contact is the pleasure of surrounding yourself with beauty, whether it’s the sea or works by great contemporary artists. In my case there’s also a desire to extract the maximum pleasure from moments of relaxation on board, and the freedom they offer. As my favourite times are those spent on M/Y TELLI, I decided to furnish it with some of my favourite works from my collection. Art on a yacht is an immense privilege. M/Y TELLI is a work of art in itself. How do you establish a dialogue and create an organic connection between of creativity and beauty? The shades of grey contrasting with the brown tones form the thread for the interiors, creating a sober elegance that’s the best setting for the art works. The yard isn’t new to the idea of blending works of art and interiors, it develops the ideal context for highlighting the pieces chosen by owners, who seek to add a distinctive touch to their yacht. The interiors are charged with passion, even if there’s a great demand for outdoor spaces and only a handful of more simple furniture items. If you had to describe M/Y TELLI, what adjectives would you use? I’d definitely say it’s a very intimate, individual yacht because like all Custom Line products it reflects its owner’s tastes. It also displays a timeless elegance. Every Custom Line embodies the identity of those who experience it. What tastes and desires does M/Y TELLI express? I like the idea that a yacht can become “a private floating gallery” for the owner and guests, somewhere they can admire magnificent works like those on board M/Y TELLI. There’s an unprecedented play of light in the interiors, with select natural materials and an attention to detail that’s typical of artistic creativity. What elements lie behind the yacht’s success, as a type of craft or as the particular interpretation that Custom Line offers? Custom Line is one of the popular lines among our clients and it’s written the story of high-end pleasure cruising by offering the opportunity to own a bespoke product. Yachts are increasingly oriented towards the concept of floating villas and lofts, to live in while under way. Custom Line is the best interpretation of this trend, combining elegantly intimate private spaces with the sailing experience. The ultimate objective is to maximise comfort and ensure privacy and well-being, with an emphasis on close contact with the sea.
