outique Italian yard Tankoa is building a new 56m custom superyacht for a genuinely creative American client. The amazingly skilled Alberto Mancini took his inspiration for the new Tankoa T560 Apache from his T760 Apache design. In fact, both he and the yard relished the chance to fit 76 metres of innovation into a more compact package whilst retaining similarly sleek, elegant proportions and volumes normally found on 1,000 GT-plus yachts. They pulled off this coup by cleverly maximizing the interior volumes, resulting in a charming beach-style retreat. Mancini also freed up the upper deck by shifting the main helm, allowing the 50 sqm master suite take pride of place forward. It also, by the way, offers a massive private terrace complete with 5.5m flying pool and an en plein air lounge area with a fire pit. Further aft, the upper saloon leads out to a large upper aft terrace with al fresco dining for 12. On the deck below that, communal guest areas are beach-chic casual with a comfortable aft saloon and a convertible forward dining area. The five guest suites, a full-beam VIP and four luxe two-berths, lie forward on the main deck – a genuine rarity in this size category. www.tankoa.it
