echnically it was success from the word “go”, performing brilliantly from the moment of its introduction, exceeding all expectations. It has pushed the market to its limits to the
extent that Zenith’s order book for the Chronomaster Sport now takes up production for the collection for the next two years – a problem, yes, but one that many other companies would love to be facing! The reason for this success lies in the technical and stylistic features of this eagerly awaited high-frequency chronograph, and because it arrives at a moment when trends and tastes have led to a deep appreciation of the watch’s ability to create a contemporary interpretation of the most legendary stylistic elements while remaining faithful to tradition. To borrow a term from the automotive world, the brand has carried out a kind of watchmaking “restomod”, combining cutting-edge technology and old-school taste. This unusual combination underpins the Chronomaster Sport, an interpretation intended to bring the fifty-year saga of the El Primero automatic chronograph movement, launched in 1969 and the first integrated movement of its kind, to a climax, with 1/10 second readings, now offering enhanced performance but also stamina, with a 60-hour power reserve.
