The Plant City City Commission took the opportunity to analyze a revised version of the Gateway District development during a workshop, on April 11. The Plant City Planning and Zoning Department once again offered another proposal for constructing new buildings along James L. Redman Parkway.

It would be used for civic, commercial, and workplace purposes as well as single and multi-family houses. Civic uses include public schools, colleges, public hospitals, community centers, libraries, museums, fire and police stations, and courthouses.

It was an eventful day on April 16 as kids came out with their families to kick off the 33rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt, held at Otis M. Andrews Sports Complex. There were 10,000 eggs hidden around the field. Plus,

Hillsborough County wants to help its residents take that out-of-country getaway they’ve dreamed of with Special Passport Saturday on May 7. The Hillsborough County Clerk of Court and Comptroller staff will assist county residents in applying for a passport. It will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hillsborough County Clerk of Court and Comptroller building, 419 Pierce St., Rm. 140, in Tampa. It will also run at the same time at the Plant City Courthouse, 301 N. Michigan Ave. Rm. 1071, in Plant City. Fees for the Department of State can only be made out in check or money orders. Clerk fees can be paid with cash,

credit card, money order or check, but both payments will be separate. • First time passport books for age 16 and up are $130 • First time passport books and renewals for age 15 and below are $100 • First time passport cards for adults are $30 • First time passport cards or renewals for those below age 18 are $15 •Passport acceptance fee is $35 •Passport photos can be taken at the event for $15.
