State-developer Dubai South aims to spend two billion dirhams ($545 million) to build an e-commerce free trade zone offering foreign firms 100 percent ownership. Foreigners operating outside of free trade zones in Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates can usually only hold a maximum 49 percent stake, with UAE nationals holding the rest. The new 920,000 square metre trade zone, known as EZDubai, aimed to attract e-commerce, logistics and other related industries and the construction was expected to start in 2019. Dubai South aimed to invest two billion dirhams over four years in the zone, although the timeline for spending the cash would depend on demand. The funds, which Dubai South planned to raise from banks and other institutions, would be spent on infrastructure, offices and warehouses. EZDubai will be located in the south of the emirate near industrial and residential developments and Dubai’s second airport, Al Maktoum International.

National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) will construct 10 new artificial islands and two causeways, as well as expand an existing island – Al Ghaf. This capital development project is expected to take 38 months to complete and will provide the infrastructure required to further develop, drill and produce gas from the sour gas fields in the Ghasha Concession. At peak construction, the project is expected to employ over 3,500 people. The award was signed by Abdulmunim Al Kindy, ADNOC Upstream Executive Director, and Yasser Zaghloul, NMDC CEO, and was witnessed by Dr. Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, Minister of State and ADNOC Group CEO, and Mohammed Thani Murshed Al Rumaithi, Chairman of NMDC. Commenting the latest news, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, said: As one of the world’s largest sour gas projects it will make a significant contribution to the UAE’s objective to become gas self-sufficient and transition to a potential net gas exporter. The Ghasha Concession consists of the Hail, Ghasha, Dalma, Nasr and Mubarraz offshore gas fields.

The project will be implemented under the supervision of the Makkah Region Development Authority. Implementation includes the installation of 500 bus stops and bus stop shelters, in addition to signposts identifying the wider bus network. Bus stops will span most Makkah neighborhoods and facilities, including malls, schools and hospitals, and will incorporate both Islamic and modern design. Stops include seated waiting areas, screens with bus times, surveillance cameras and ticket-vending machines. The project includes four main stations around the Grand Mosque that will include platforms for boarding and disembarking. The project also includes the construction of 35,000 square meters of asphalt sidewalks and seven pedestrian bridges, which will include elevators for the disabled and staircases. In addition, the new transport project will be linked to a high-tech system that streamlines traffic.

The Al Shomookh Mining Industries Complex is an integrated mining complex for which Sezad has allocated 250,000 square metres of land with an investment cost of OMR95 million. In the second phase, the company will build a paint factory, a glass factory, a waste container manufacturing plant and an aluminium factory, and in the third phase, the company will set up a fertilizer plant. JCB ANNOUNCES DEAL WITH NEW BRITISH MOTOR RACING TEAM

CB has announced an exciting partnership with a new British motor racing team as the company continues to expand its presence in global markets. The partnership with SportPesa Racing Point F1 team (formerly Force India) will see prominent JCB branding on the two cars driven by Lance Stroll and Sergio Perez from the first Formula One race in Melbourne in March. Branding will also appear on helmets, overalls and the team’s trackside clothing. In addition, JCB will play a major part in Racing Point’s development by providing machines to help in the construction of the team’s planned new factory later this year. Ruler of Dubai Reviews Sky Pod Models

H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has reviewed two models of the Sky Pods, a mobility system being tested by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in conjunction with Skyway Greentech Co. The Sky Pods form part of the RTA’s initiatives aimed at addressing the future of Dubai’s mobility needs. His Highness inspected the Sky Pods on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in the presence of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation. HH attended a briefing by HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA about the Sky Pod models. The system occupies considerably less area than conventional systems of the same capacity. It is also characterised by higher power efficiency as it uses five times less power than electric vehicles. “The first model of the Sky Pods is the Unibike; which is characterised by its small size and lightweight. It moves on steel wheels on a hanging railway. It combines the features
of a high-performance electric vehicle and sports and recreational features. It is fitted with electric systems for driving the pod. It can be fitted with a power generator such as the Bicycle Dynamo, and as such it can be driven by the body mass of passengers on board. It can accommodate two riders and travel at a speed of up to 150 km/h. “The second model of the Sky Pods is the Unicar. It is designed for long-haul journeys. It features a design compatible with the urban setting and international standards of Dubai. These ultra-modern innovative systems have the potential of enhancing smooth mobility through the construction of an elevated network connecting high-rise buildings. Each pod has a capacity of four to six seated riders and can travel at a speed of 150 km/h. “The Sky Pods initiative is part of RTA’s efforts to provide autonomous transport, one of the key aims of the Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy aimed at converting 25% of total journeys in Dubai into autonomous journeys on various transit means by 2030. It is also part of RTA’s efforts to enhance the integration of public transit means, and offer solutions for short journeys (first and last mile) enabling public transport users to reach their final destinations,” concluded Al Tayer.

Ships Last Metro Trainset for Riyadh from Katowice Alstom just shipped the last trainset for Riyadh Metro from its plant in Katowice, Poland. As part of the contract awarded in 2013 by Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) to the FAST consortium[1] for the design and construction of lines 4, 5 and 6 of the Riyadh Metro, Alstom manufactured 69 Metropolis trainsets that will run on the new lines. Alstom is providing to lines 4, 5 and 6 of the Riyadh Metro a full integrated metro system including the Metropolis trainsets, Urbalis Alstom’s CBTC[2] signalling solution, as well as the power supply and Alstom’s energy recovery system Hesop. The metro system has been optimized to reduce energy consumption. Since the delivery of the first train in January 2017, every step of the trains’ production, including final static and dynamic tests, was carried out at the Katowice site. After having successfully completed all tests, the last Riyadh metro train passed factory acceptance by the customer.
“It is thanks to all the Alstom employees involved in the Riyadh metro project that we have managed to achieve this great milestone. I am very proud to say that Alstom’s site in Katowice has become a worldwide centre of excellence for metro trains. Today, we employ over 2,300 people in Katowice and are manufacturing some of Alstom’s most innovative projects,” said Radoslaw Banach, Alstom’s Katowice Site Managing Director. The Metropolis trains for Riyadh are composed of two cars and are 36 meters long. Each train features three classes: first, family and single class. The trains are driverless and 100% motorized, allowing them to run on gradients of up to a 6% slope. The trains will offer passengers a high level of comfort, ergonomic seating, LED lightning, air conditioning and advanced passenger information systems.

Delivers Flagship Regional Headquarters for Komatsu Middle East FZE in JAFZA

pecialist project management consultancy, 3SixtyConsult announces the handover of Komatsu’s regional headquarters, which is one of the largest Warehousing and Training facilities for Komatsu outside of the Japanese company’s home market. The 17,000 sqm facility will allow Komatsu to showcase its heavy machinery to the Middle Eastern market and provide a high standard of training for its operatives and servicing teams, while also functioning as its regional parts distribution hub. The facility includes a warehouse, training centre, office and a machine demonstration area with a viewing stand. Commenting on the project’s successful completion, Principal Partner and Projects Director at 3SixtyConsult, Keenan Grote said: “Working with Komatsu on this project was exciting for the 3Sixty team. Komatsu is a world-renowned name in the global industrial vehicle sector and completing this facility to Komatsu’s exacting standards gave our working team along with McLarens Contracting a great sense of fulfillment and pride. We successfully managed the project from tender stage right through design development, authority approvals, construction and close out, delivering a world class facility that surpassed the end users’ expectations. MTC 15 BRINGS MAJOR UPGRADE TO LIFTING CAPACITY AT MAMMOET’S MULTI-PURPOSE TERMINAL TERNEUZEN
T
o upgrade lifting capacity at its multipurpose terminal at Westdorpe, near Terneuzen, The Netherlands, Mammoet has installed one of its highly efficient heavy-lift MTC 15 cranes. With a capacity of 600 tons at 25 meters, no other heavy-lifting device on the market combines the MTC 15’s features, lifting power and efficiency.
The quay-side mobile terminal crane has been engineered and built by Mammoet to lift 600 tons at 25 meters, while reducing project time and costs. With a load moment capacity equal to a large 1,200 metric ton crawler crane or a large floating sheerleg, the crane enables loads up to 600 tons to be lifted to and from the quay from non-geared cargo vessels in water up to 12.5 meters deep. This lifting capacity is ideal for loading and offloading heavy items such as columns, vessels, reels, project cargo and engines, without having to reinforce the quay. Terex to Sell Demag® Mobile Crane Business
T
erex Corporation announced that it has agreed to sell its Demag® Mobile Cranes business to Tadano Ltd. for an enterprise value of approximately $215 million. The Demag® Mobile Cranes business manufactures and sells all terrain cranes and large crawler cranes. Included in the transaction are the manufacturing facilities in Zweibrucken, Germany and multiple sales and service locations. The sale, which is subject to government regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, is targeted to close in mid-2019. “The Demag® Mobile Cranes business has been part of our Company for almost two decades and produces world class products,” said John L. Garrison, Terex Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “The dedicated Demag® Mobile Cranes team members have made significant contributions to Terex and to the crane industry. The sale is based on strong industrial logic, as the Demag® Mobile Cranes business will become part of a global crane company with complementary products and capabilities. We are pleased to have entered into this agreement with Tadano, a strategic buyer who values the Demag® Mobile Cranes brand, technology, distribution network and team members.” Commenting on the rationale of the deal, Koichi Tadano, Tadano Ltd. Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer said: “This is a strategic acquisition that offers Tadano considerable scope for growth. Highlights are the RS26 hooklift, the i.s.a.r.- control remote 3 system and the MEILLER Eco-KupplungŽ. In addition to these, a three-way tipper with centre-axle trailer, a skip handler, two rear tippers for the international and Swiss market, a heat insulated semi-trailer and a tipper for rock transport for particularly heavy work are also on exhibit at the venue. The portfolio presented emphasises safety and efficiency aspects in particular, with the market leader for tipping superstructures once again demonstrating its keen instinct for practical solutions which enable efficient operation without losing sight of safety and sustainability. largest meeting places for the industry. With this in mind, MEILLER is also showcasing its new i.s.a.r.-control remote 3 solution. This new remote control generation combines familiar intuitive handling with the latest technology and an attractive design. Previously available control elements are now reduced to seven and complemented by a display and joystick combination. All this ensures that operation is practical and even easier for the driver, as he does full control of all the functions of his MEILLER tipper from a safe distance and with a clear view of the entire procedure. The new RS26 is not simply a further development by MEILLER of the latest series of reliable hooklifts. When it comes to payload, speed and construction height, this premium product also represents a new benchmark in the sector for heavy duty operations with 3 and 4-axle vehicles. With a lifting capacity of 26 tons, weight reduced by up to 850 kg when compared to its predecessor and a doubling of its working speed, the RS26 is not only the lightest and fastest hooklift of its kind, but also the most powerful. Two rows of holes in the frame facilitate bolted mounting of the superstructure, while its closed profile ensures a high degree of torsional rigidity. In addition to a unit with the sliding hook arm, the new RS26 will also be available in a TS version with a telescopic pivoting arm. This additional

function permits the user to keep the container flatter when pulling it on, thus exploiting the strength of the proven MEILLER hydraulics to a maximum degree. The new MEILLER Eco-Kupplung® (eco clutch) is another technical innovation presented at bauma. Located between the engine-driven PTO and hydraulic pump, it serves as a system which facilitates flexible activation. In contrast to the previous solution, use of the eco clutch means the pump no longer runs when it is not required, being now only activated when necessary. This means that the 2-4 kW of power consumed by conventional engine-driven pumps (regardless of pump operation) can be saved. Whereas hydraulic systems could only be operated previously when stationary in the case of gearbox-driven pumps, the eco clutch now means that efficient operation can be continued while travelling. This can lead to a saving of between 0.5 or 1.4 litres of diesel per hour and up to 3.5 litres every 100 km.

A third model, the G2B – Full HD with display 4,3” (color display) it will instead be available soon. تعتزم شركة التعدين العربية السعودية (معادن) التي تديرها الدولة بناء مصنع أمونيا ثالث بتكلفة تبلغ حوالي 3.35مليار لاير سعودي ( 893مليون دوالر) .يعتبر احدا من بين العديد من المصانع التي تعتزم شركة معادن تطويرها لمجمع فوسفات ثالث تقدر تكلفته بـ 24مليار لاير. مصنع األمونيا و ً
حصلت شركة ماكديرموت انترناشيونال على عقد كبير من شركة دايليم العربية السعودية المحدودة لهندسة ومشتريات وبناء ( )EPCصهاريج التخزين CB & I لمصنع معادن األمونيا في رأس الخير بالمملكة العربية السعودية .ويشمل العقد الثابت هندسة ،وشراء ،وتصنيع أربع خزانات لألمونيا وتسعة خزانات تخزين & CB .Iسيتم تنفيذ المشروع في الغالب على يد قدرات ومرافق ماكديرموت المحلية بالمملكة العربية السعودية.

مجمع الشموخ للتعدين هو مجمع متكامل للتعدين خصصت فيه «سيزاد» مساحة قدرها 250.000متر مربع بتكلفة استثمارية تبلغ 95مليون لاير عماني .ستقوم شركة الشموخ للتعدين بتنفيذ المشروع على عدة مراحل ،مع إنشاء مصنع الكلنكر ومحطة إلنتاج الجير في المرحلة األولى .في المرحلة الثانية ،ستقوم الشركة ببناء مصنع للطالء ،ومصنع زجاج ،ومصنع لتصنيع حاويات النفايات ،ومصنع لأللومنيوم ،وفي المرحلة الثالثة ،ستقوم الشركة بإنشاء مصنع لألسمدة. وقد بدأت الشركة في إجراء اختبارات التربة إواعداد مخطط المجمع والتنسيق مع المصانع على المواصفات الفنية التي تم أخذها في االعتبار في إعداد الخطوط العريضة لمجمع التعدين .وستشمل المرحلة األولى مصنعاً إلنتاج الكلنكر وآخر إلنتاج هيدروكسيد الكالسيوم ،في حين ستشمل المراحل األخيرة مصنع إلنتاج الجير، ومصانع لألصباغ والزجاج واأللمنيوم ،وحاويات النفايات ،واألسمدة ،والدواجن.

المشروع هو عبارة عن بناء محطة طاقة شمسية تعمل بالطاقة الشمسية بقدرة 52ميجاوات ( ،)MWأطلق عليها إيه إم سوالر في منطقة الماضونة شرق عمان. إن المحطة هي عبارة عن مشروع مشترك بين الواليات المتحدة لخدمات الطاقة التطبيقية -األردن ،والمجموعة اليابانية ميتسوي ونبراس باور ،على أساس البناء والتشغيل واإلدارة .ويتوقع مسؤولو «إيه إم سوالر» أن يتم ربط المشروع بشبكة شركة الكهرباء الوطنية خالل عام ،2019مع توقعات بتوليد 77جيجاوات من بناء على النظرة المستقبلية التي تأخذ في االعتبار أمن الكهرباء سنوياً .تقوم األردن باالستثمار في العديد من مشاريع الطاقة المتجددة وفقًا إلستراتيجية الطاقةً ، الطاقة واالستقالل والموارد المحلية ،فضالً عن تكاليف اإلنتاج المنخفضة. 72 PlantAndEquipment.com | March 2019

ستقوم شركة الجرافات البحرية الوطنية ببناء 10جزر صناعية جديدة وجسران ،باإلضافة إلى توسيع جزيرة موجودة -الغاف. ومن المتوقع أن يستغرق مشروع التطوير العظيم هذا 38شه اًر ،وسوف يوفر البنية التحتية الالزمة لمواصلة تطوير وحفر إوانتاج الغاز من حقول الغاز الحامض في منطقة امتياز غشا .من المتوقع أن يوظف المشروع ،في ذروة البناء ،أكثر من 3500شخص. وقد قام بتوقيع منح المشروع كل من عبد المنعم الكندي ،المدير التنفيذي ألدنوك ،وياسر زغلول ،الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة ، NMDCوشهده الدكتور سلطان أحمد الجابر ،وزير الدولة والمدير التنفيذي لمجموعة أدنوك ،ومحمد ثاني مرشد الرميثي، رئيس مجلس إدارة .NMDC وتعليقًا على آخر األخبار ،قال الدكتور سلطان الجابر :كواحد من أكبر مشاريع الغاز الحمضي في العالم ،سوف يساهم ذاتيا من الغاز واالنتقال إلى مصدر محتمل المشروع بشكل كبير في هدف دولة اإلمارات العربية المتحدة في أن تصبح مكتفية ً للغاز الصافي .ويتكون امتياز غشا من حقول غاز حائل وغشا ودالما ونصر ومبارز البحرية.

حصلت شركة أكسيونا ،المزود الرائد لحلول البنية شركة المياه والكهرباء ()WEC العميل: التحتية المستدامة ومشاريع الطاقة المتجددة ،على www.wec.com.sa موقع الكتروني: عقد بقيمة 500مليون يورو من الحكومة السعودية لتمويل وتصميم وبناء محطة تحلية 3الجديدة عاما .منحت بالشقيق وتشغيلها وصيانتها لمدة ً 25 شركة المياه والكهرباء ( ،)WECوهي الشركة المملوكة للدولة المسؤولة عن مشاريع تحلية المياه ومعالجة المياه، المشروع إلى كونسورتيوم أكسيونا الذي يضم شركاء شركة ماروبيني ،عبداللطيف جميل سي دي سي ،و شركة روافد الحضارة. وقالت المجموعة اإلسبانية إن إحدى وحدات أعمالها ،أكسيونا أجوا ،سوف تشارك في جميع مراحل هيكل المشروع: كمستثمر ،مقاول ( EPCتسليم المفتاح) الوحيد ،والشريك الرئيسي وشريك األغلبية في التشغيل والصيانة .المشروع ،وهو أكبر مشروع تقوده شركة أكسيونا أجوا حتى اآلن في المملكة العربية السعودية ،سيتم تنفيذه في إطار نموذج (بناء وتملك وتشغيل) .سيقع المشروع جنوب غرب البالد ،على شواطئ البحر األحمر ،ومن المقرر االنتهاء منه في عام ،2021 احدا من أكبر محطات تحلية المياه في المملكة العربية السعودية ،باستخدام تقنية التناضح العكسي وسيكون الشقيق 3و ً وقدرتها على معالجة 450.000متر مكعب في اليوم ،لتلبية احتياجات ما يبلغ من مليوني نسمة .والشقيق هي منطقة التحلية الثالثة لشركة أكسيونا في المملكة العربية السعودية ،مما يتيح للشركة توفير المياه لحوالي 3ماليين شخص. 75
