Geofencing Improves Fleet Management in the GCC
Virtual perimeter and tracking software set to increase vehicle monitoring and quality control In-vehicle monitoring systems (IVMS) and Telematics are known for their ability to track and trace vehicles with Global Positioning System (GPS) location, but Fleet Management Systems & Technologies (FMS Tech) is taking security a step further by introducing the Geofencing software. Already being used in many parts of the world, FMS Tech has introduced

this next-generation programme in the GCC to improve the nature of quality control and company policy adherence. Geofencing is one of the most powerful features that FMS Tech offers as it gives the administrator control of establishing a virtual boundary around a specified location and sends alerts when a specific vehicle enters or exits the area. Designed for maximum transparency on the whereabouts of your fleet, this feature allows an administrator to control the movements and locations of the company’s vehicles at all times - notifications are sent to the administrators device incase of any disruptions. Using the GPS and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, geofencing triggers an alert in real time, whenever a parameter is violated and it gives the administrator the ability to remotely disable the vehicle if it enters a restricted area.
NEWS Here is an example of how Geofencing is used: • The manager sets geofencing parameters for some or all of the vehicles through the software. • A driver leaves in a vehicle that is not authorized to leave that specified parameter. • An alert is sent to the fleet manager via SMS and Email (or their preferred method) • The fleet manager can see the information about the driver and the vehicle and call the driver. • The driver and fleet manager can then address the situation and reach a consensus on how to move forward.
The fundamentals of the IVMS software and hardware is similar to the black box of an airplane, but it also offers much more including fleet information ranging from vehicle routes and driver performance to policy violations and perimeter breaches. FMS Tech clients and business partners can activate this software easily by contacting the company’s representative to guide the process, or by using the FMS Office 2000 portal and setting the parameters and details themselves. FMS Tech is the first to launch the use of this software in the region. With geofencing; fleet management, surveillance, and employee accountability just got a whole lot better.

The signs are promising for the largest construction equipment trade show in Asia. Market researchers continue to see upturn in Chinese market. The industry will again meet at the international trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines and construction vehicles held from November 27 to 30, 2018 in Shanghai. Six months prior to its opening, bauma CHINA announces some positive figures: “The current demand for exhibition space exceeds our expectations,” Stefan Rummel, Managing Director of Messe München, says. between the companies, the associations and Messe München in China.” The organizer Messe München is pleased about the return of a giant in the sector: Caterpillar, the world’s leading manufacturer of construction equipment, will be in on it this year for the first time since its last attendance in 2012. Well-known names such as Bauer, Liebherr, Volvo or Wirtgen
NEWS have also signed up; major construction equipment manufacturers from the Middle Kingdom have already expressed their interest in participating. The world’s second largest trade fair for construction machines after bauma in Munich offers an exhibition space of 300,000 square meters. “The entire area of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre—17 halls and the outdoor area—will again be occupied completely,” Maritta Lepp, bauma CHINA’s Exhibition Director reports. Some exhibitors already asked for larger booth spaces than with the previous edition. The trade show’s high reputation attracts renowned companies from both China and from all over the world. Various countries—including Germany, Italy, Korea, Spain, Turkey and the U.S.—will present themselves with joint stands. More are being planned. The advantages of this central organization: joint booths help especially small and medium-sized companies find cooperation partners and enter this large market. According to an analysis of Off-Highway Research the Chinese construction
equipment market saw an 81-percent growth in 2017 and thus currently is the largest worldwide. The British market research institute attributes this rapid upturn for example to the many new infrastructure projects and an improved growth rate in real estate business. This went hand in hand with an increased demand and well-filled order books in the Chinese construction equipment sector. In 2017, according to the market research institute, particularly mobile cranes, crawler excavators and wheel loaders benefited from this situation. For the current year, Off-Highway Research predicts an increase as well, which, however, will not be as strong as in 2017. Accordingly, the signs are promising for Asia’s largest construction equipment trade fair: Exhibition Director Lepp anticipates a similarly high number of visitors as in 2016. In that year, around 170,000 professionals from Asian countries visited bauma CHINA, where 2,958 exhibitors from 41 countries presented their products and innovations. The biennial trade show took place for the first time in 2002 and has strengthened its leading position in Asia since then.

Volvo Buses receives order for 143 coach chassis to Dubai
Volvo Buses and Famco Al Futtaim Auto & Machinery Co (Famco) have secured an order for 143 intercity coaches from Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The coaches will be the first Euro 6 standard buses in the Middle East. The order for 143 Volvo luxury intercity coaches is not only FAMCO’s biggest deal with the RTA to date, but also the single largest purchase of intercity coaches by any transport authority in the Region. It is also the first time that Euro 6 buses will commercially operate in the Middle East. The coaches will be delivered over a period of two years. The Volvo B11R Euro 6 chassis will have a Sunsundegui SC5 body. The coaches will be equipped with future-ready ITS systems for fleet tracking, premium interiors, luxury ISRI lightweight ergonomic seats, and comfort accessories required by a modern commuter like USB charging capabilities, foot rests, cup-holders and plush wooden finish flooring. 40 WWW.PLANTANDEQUIPMENT.COM | JUNE 2018
The buses will include the Volvo Driver Support System, aimed at providing class-leading safety for all road users. The system includes Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking functionality, where the technology automatically applies full brakes to the bus if a collision with a vehicle in front is imminent and the driver doesn’t react to the initial warning. It also includes an Adaptive Cruise Control that automatically keeps a set distance to the vehicle in front and a Lane Keeping Support System, which warns the driver if the coach is about to cross a lane marking unintentionally. Volvo’s B11R is the first bus in the Middle East to meet the strict Euro 6 standards of fuel efficiency and emissions; aiding the successful signing of the deal which was

Mountains and the southeastern edge of the Junggar Basin. It is affected by the Indosinian and Yanshan movements, where folds are intense and the terrain is complex. The mine contains 390 billion tons of coal underground in a 220-kilometer-long strip from the east to the west, which is currently the largest fully-integrated coal field in China. XCMG XE470D and XE700D excavators have been used for the mining of coal mines since they entered the mining area in February 2016. According to Mr. Wang, the principal of the coal mining company, as the mine is of poor working conditions,

إن محطــة طاقــة حصيــان للفحــم النظيــف التــي تولــد طاقــة تبلــغ 2400ميجــا واط هــي محطــة توليــد طاقــة باســتخدام تقنيــة الضغــوط فــوق الحرجــة ( )USCوالتــي يجــري تطويرهــا فــي ســيح شــعيب ،دبــي ،اإلمــارات العربيــة المتحــدة .ومــن المقــرر ،عنــد اكتمــال المشــروع ،أن تكــون المحطــة هــي أول محطــة للطاقــة تعمــل بالفحــم فــي المنطقــة.

يعمــل المشــروع علــى دعــم اســتراتيجية دبــي للطاقــة النظيفــة لعــام 2050التــي تهــدف إلــى إنتــاج الطاقــة الصديقــة للبيئــة .ويهــدف البرنامــج إلــى إنتــاج ٪25مــن الطاقــة مــن الطاقــة الشمســية ٪7 ،مــن الطاقــة النوويــة ٪7 ،مــن الفحــم النظيــف ،والنســبة الباقيــة ٪61مــن الغــاز بحلــول عــام .2030 كما أنه من المتوقع أن تنتج محطة توليد الكهرباء ما يكفي من الكهرباء لتشغيل حوالي 250000بيت.

أطلقــت شــركة بالــم هيلــز للتعميــر ،ثانــي أكبــر شــركة تطويــر عقــاري مدرجــة فــي مصــر ،أحــدث مجمــع ســكني تحــت اســم الباديــة فــي مدينــة الســادس مــن أكتوبــر ،وعلــى بعــد 38كــم ( 23،6ميــل) مــن وســط القاهـرة.
يتضمــن المشــروع وحــدات ســكنية وفيــالت ذات تصميــم معمــاري فريــد يعكــس مفاهيــم العمليــة واالبتــكار لتوفيــر نمــط حيــاة مميــز .تنتشــر المســاحات الخضـراء فــي جميــع أنحــاء المدينــة التــي توفــر حيــاة ممتعــة وصحيــة.
من المقرر أن يتم تنفيذ المشروع على مساحة 3000فدان على ثالث مراحل ،بما في ذلك ثالث شرائح ،وسيتم تسليم المرحلة األولى خالل عام .2019

الشـــــرق األوســــط لإلعالنــات اإلســتراتيجية
لن تكون الشــاحنات والنقل مســؤولة عن األســماء التجارية والعالمات التجارية التي يســتخدمها املعلنون .لن يتم ـبب مهما كان ،أو عن أي أخطاء قبول أي مســؤولية عن أي خســارة ناجمة عن فشــل أي إعالن للظهور ألي سـ ٍ فيه .يتم قبول اإلعالنات حســب توفر املســاحة .وإذا لم يكن من املمكن إدراج إعالنات في العدد املطلوب ،فإن الشــاحنات والنقل ســتبذل قصارى جهدها لضمان نقل اإلعالنات إلى العدد التالي .كما أن الشــاحنات والنقل تحتاج إشــعار خطي مســبق ملدة شــهر واحد إللغاء أي سلســلة من اإلعالنات. وال يمكن ضمان تقديم اإلعالنات إال إذا تم كتابة عقد كتابي بهذا املعنى بني الشــرق األوســط للشــاحنات والنقل واملعلن.
