The Spanish group said one of its business units, Acciona Agua, will be involved throughout the project structure: as an investor, sole EPC (turnkey) contractor, and leading and majority partner in operation and maintenance.The project, Acciona Agua’s biggest so far in Saudi Arabia, will be implemented under a BOO (build, own and operate) model.Located in the country’s south west, on the shores of the Red Sea, and scheduled for completion in 2021, Shuqaiq 3 will be one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest desalination plants, using inverse osmosis technology and with a capacity to process 450,000 cu m per day, to cater for a population of 2 million people.This is Acciona’s third desalination plant in Saudi Arabia, enabling the company to provide some 3 million people with water.

State-developer Dubai South aims to spend two billion dirhams ($545 million) to build an e-commerce free trade zone offering foreign firms 100 percent ownership. Foreigners operating outside of free trade zones in Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates can usually only hold a maximum 49 percent stake, with UAE nationals holding the rest.

The new 920,000 square metre trade zone, known as EZDubai, aimed to attract e-commerce, logistics and other related industries and the construction was expected to start in 2019. Dubai South aimed to invest two billion dirhams over four years in the zone, although the timeline for spending the cash would depend on demand. The funds, which Dubai South planned to raise from banks and other institutions, would be spent on infrastructure, offices and warehouses.

EZDubai will be located in the south of the emirate near industrial and residential developments and Dubai’s second airport, Al Maktoum International.

National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) will construct 10 new artificial islands and two causeways, as well as expand an existing island – Al Ghaf. This capital development project is expected to take 38 months to complete and will provide the infrastructure required to further develop, drill and produce gas from the sour gas fields in the Ghasha Concession. At peak construction, the project is expected to employ over 3,500 people.

The award was signed by Abdulmunim Al Kindy, ADNOC Upstream Executive Director, and Yasser Zaghloul, NMDC CEO, and was witnessed by Dr. Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, Minister of State and ADNOC Group CEO, and Mohammed Thani Murshed Al Rumaithi, Chairman of NMDC. Commenting the latest news, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, said: As one of the world’s largest sour gas projects it will make a significant contribution to the UAE’s objective to become gas self-sufficient and transition to a potential net gas exporter. The Ghasha Concession consists of the Hail, Ghasha, Dalma, Nasr and Mubarraz offshore gas fields.

Bus Routes Infrastructure Project in Makkah USD 87,000,000 Makkah Region Development Authority www.mrda.gov.sa

The project will be implemented under the supervision of the Makkah Region Development Authority. Implementation includes the installation of 500 bus stops and bus stop shelters, in addition to signposts identifying the wider bus network. Bus stops will span most Makkah neighborhoods and facilities, including malls, schools and hospitals, and will incorporate both Islamic and modern design. Stops include seated waiting areas, screens with bus times, surveillance cameras and ticket-vending machines.

The project includes four main stations around the Grand Mosque that will include platforms for boarding and disembarking. The project also includes the construction of 35,000 square meters of asphalt sidewalks and seven pedestrian bridges, which will include elevators for the disabled and staircases. In addition, the new transport project will be linked to a high-tech system that streamlines traffic.

The Al Shomookh Mining Industries Complex is an integrated mining complex for which Sezad has allocated 250,000 square metres of land with an investment cost of OMR95 million. Al Shomookh Mining will implement the project in several stages, with the construction of a clinker plant and a lime production plant in the first phase. In the second phase, the company will build a paint factory, a glass factory, a waste container manufacturing plant and an aluminium factory, and in the third phase, the company will set up a fertilizer plant.

The company had started to conduct soil tests and prepare the outline of the complex and coordinate with factories on the technical specifications considered in the preparation of the outline of the mining complex. The first phase will include a factory for clinker production and another for calcium hydroxide, while the later stages will include a lime production plant and factories for dyes, glass, aluminium, waste containers, fertilizers and poultry.

GULF NEEDS USD109 BILLION FOR POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION OVER NEXT FIVE YEARS Middle East Electricity 2019 set for energising boost with new MENA Power Industry Outlook report pointing to importance of public-private partnerships in GCC’s emergence as power infrastructure investment leader.

T

he GCC private sector and international investors will continue to play an increasingly important role in meeting the rising demand for electricity across the Arab world, according to the newly-released MENA Power Industry Outlook 2019.

The report, prepared by Ventures Onsite for Middle East Electricity, the region’s leading event for the power industry, says a rapidly growing population, urbanisation, rising income levels and industrialisation are driving increased electricity demand throughout the

GCC - a region that is expected to require power infrastructure investment totalling USD109 billion over the next five years.

According to the MENA Power Industry Outlook 2019, the GCC alone will require USD55 billion for an additional 43 GW of generating capacity and USD34 billion for transmission, with much of the funding for development coming from both public and private sector purses. “Investments in the GCC’s power sector will continue to remain a priority with the private sector increasingly playing a significant

“The GCC region appears best suited for PPP opportunities considering the sustained lowered hydrocarbon prices,” continues the report, adding: “While a few countries are more advanced than others in the legislative process, supported by authorised institutions, the others seem to be focusing on exploring this project delivery model.”

The MENA Power Industry Outlook 2019 also reveals that much of the investment will be focused on diversification and conservation of electricity with a renewed emphasis on solar, renewables and smart grids, which continue to gain regionwide momentum.

“The GCC smart grid market, which is gaining prominence, is projected to grow to USD1.68 billion by 2026 due to the deployment of smart grid infrastructure by GCC governments.

Energy storage systems are also becoming attractive in the GCC as it forms a crucial component in the development of smarter grids. The GCC countries’ grid interconnectivity is expected to generate USD33 billion in investments, economic and energy savings over the next 25 years,” says the Outlook.

Middle East Electricity organisers, Informa Exhibitions, say the investment thrust is also energising the annual event, which runs from March 5-7, 2019 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). The 2019 edition takes the form of five dedicated sectors within a combined megashow: power generation; transmission and distribution; lighting; solar; and energy storage and management.

Informa believes when the show opens for its three-day run visitors will discover the biggest regional industry gathering in the event’s history, which now spans four decades. “All aspects of the industry will be represented and, with some of the biggest names in the sector participating, we can also anticipate serious segment technological breakthroughs taking centre-stage,” added Konieczna.

MEE organisers are also planning a comprehensive knowledge programme to coincide with the show, including the muchanticipated, and CPD accredited, Power Generation O&M Conference. “This will focus attention on the key industry developments which are changing the entire face of this vital sector,” said Konieczna.

Topics already listed for discussion include: Digital retrofits for improved power plant efficiencies, value-based maintenance, and redefining power plant performance using cloud-based analytics. There will also be a case study on reliability centre maintenance presented by Egypt’s East Delta Electricity Production Company.

“Aside from this, the show will offer a diverse range of professional education and training opportunities,” added Konieczna.

“Attendees will be able to learn about the latest technologies at exhibitor-led Technical Seminars, and it is our intention to ensure that a visit to Middle East Electricity is essential to every power professional within the region and those wishing to work with them.”

Rain, Sleet and Snow Couldn’t Keep World of Asphalt Show from Record-Setting Attendance Numbers

ggregates and asphalt industries were out in force at the record-setting World of Asphalt Show & Conference and AGG1 Academy & Expo, Feb. 12-14 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Attendance hit an all-time high with registered attendance at 10,063 – a 28-percent increase over the 2018 show held in Houston. Attendees came from all 50 states, with the home state of Indiana represented with over 1500 in attendance. International attendance also increased with all 10 Canadian provinces and 52 other countries worldwide- including delegations from Nigeria and Russia – coming for the world-class education and exhibit floor.

“It’s been a great show with a lot of interaction on the show floor and in the education sessions; this is where our industry comes together - competitors and peers, to prepare for future growth,” said Kevin Kelly, president of Walsh & Kelly and World of Asphalt 2019 chair.

“Whether you were here to learn or purchase equipment, attend the shows or our Annual Convention, valuable information and resources were shared to help participants get their businesses on the ‘fast track’ to success,” said Randy Lake, NSSGA 2018 chairman.

Both World of Asphalt and AGG1 achieved record size, and spanned a combined 201,450 net square feet of exhibits and 500 exhibitors.

More than 145 of those were new to the shows. On display were the latest products and technologies for the aggregates, asphalt, pavement maintenance and traffic safety sectors.

“Our customer base is here at AGG1 each year. It’s about meeting customers we have known a long time and building on those great relationships, and also meeting new customers and letting them know about what Caterpillar has to offer. It’s a critical event for us,” said Tom Klister, Caterpillar global account executive.

“World of Asphalt has been a great show for us this year,” said Daniel Friedman, director of marketing with Eagle Crusher. “We’ve seen a lot of attendees with positive feelings for 2019 and beyond, growth with distributors to represent our products worldwide as well as customers signing purchase orders for equipment.”

The Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association co-located its winter meeting with NSSGA’s Annual Convention and AGG1, and the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana conducted three special education sessions at World of Asphalt.

Ben Everett with About Asphalt out of New Zealand came to the show primarily for the education.

Nearly 100 FFA students converged on the show floor the final day of the show for a special #AgtoAsphalt Day to connect with exhibitors and learn about rewarding industry careers.

“Even with many years in the asphalt industry, you have to stay up to date and relevant with your knowledge. Over time with knowledge gained and lessons learned, techniques evolve,” said Everett. “I attended three education sessions and they are world class in quality and delivery. The presenters were excellent and related to attendees in a very collaborative way to get our attention. Most importantly, the content was accurate, up to date and factually correct.”

Industry support amplified the shows’ networking and knowledge sharing, with more than 30 allied groups from the United States, Canada and worldwide participating as official supporting organizations.

Ruler of Dubai Reviews Sky Pod Models

H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has reviewed two models of the Sky Pods, a mobility system being tested by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in conjunction with Skyway Greentech Co. The Sky Pods form part of the RTA’s initiatives aimed at addressing the future of Dubai’s mobility needs.

His Highness inspected the Sky Pods on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in the presence of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation.

HH attended a briefing by HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA about the Sky Pod models. The system occupies considerably less area than conventional systems of the same capacity. It is also characterised by higher power efficiency as it uses five times less power than electric vehicles.

“The first model of the Sky Pods is the Unibike; which is characterised by its small size and lightweight. It moves on steel wheels on a hanging railway. It combines the features

of a high-performance electric vehicle and sports and recreational features. It is fitted with electric systems for driving the pod. It can be fitted with a power generator such as the Bicycle Dynamo, and as such it can be driven by the body mass of passengers on board. It can accommodate two riders and travel at a speed of up to 150 km/h.

“The second model of the Sky Pods is the Unicar. It is designed for long-haul journeys.

It features a design compatible with the urban setting and international standards of Dubai.

These ultra-modern innovative systems have the potential of enhancing smooth mobility through the construction of an elevated network connecting high-rise buildings. Each pod has a capacity of four to six seated riders and can travel at a speed of 150 km/h.

“The Sky Pods initiative is part of RTA’s efforts to provide autonomous transport, one of the key aims of the Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy aimed at converting 25% of total journeys in Dubai into autonomous journeys on various transit means by 2030.

It is also part of RTA’s efforts to enhance the integration of public transit means, and offer solutions for short journeys (first and last mile) enabling public transport users to reach their final destinations,” concluded Al Tayer.

Ships Last Metro Trainset for Riyadh from Katowice Alstom just shipped the last trainset for Riyadh Metro from its plant in Katowice, Poland.

As part of the contract awarded in 2013 by Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) to the FAST consortium[1] for the design and construction of lines 4, 5 and 6 of the Riyadh Metro, Alstom manufactured 69 Metropolis trainsets that will run on the new lines.

Alstom is providing to lines 4, 5 and 6 of the Riyadh Metro a full integrated metro system including the Metropolis trainsets, Urbalis Alstom’s CBTC[2] signalling solution, as well as the power supply and Alstom’s energy recovery system Hesop. The metro system has been optimized to reduce energy consumption.

Since the delivery of the first train in January 2017, every step of the trains’ production, including final static and dynamic tests, was carried out at the Katowice site. After having successfully completed all tests, the last Riyadh metro train passed factory acceptance by the customer.

“It is thanks to all the Alstom employees involved in the Riyadh metro project that we have managed to achieve this great milestone.

I am very proud to say that Alstom’s site in Katowice has become a worldwide centre of excellence for metro trains. Today, we employ over 2,300 people in Katowice and are manufacturing some of Alstom’s most innovative projects,” said Radoslaw Banach, Alstom’s Katowice Site Managing Director.

The Metropolis trains for Riyadh are composed of two cars and are 36 meters long. Each train features three classes: first, family and single class. The trains are driverless and 100% motorized, allowing them to run on gradients of up to a 6% slope.

The trains will offer passengers a high level of comfort, ergonomic seating, LED lightning, air conditioning and advanced passenger information systems.

[1] The FAST consortium includes FCC (leader), Samsung, Alstom, Freyssinet Saudi Arabia, Strukton, Setec and Typsa. The overall contract value for the consortium is €5.8 billion. Alstom’s share in the contract amounts to more than €1.2 billion.

Key Role for Hitachi ZX300LCN-6 at Airport Development Project

A

new Hitachi ZX300LCN-6 medium excavator has been selected by Construções Gabriel A.S. Couto S.A. (Gabriel Couto) to help it construct a new taxiway and other access points at Porto Airport in the north of Portugal. The machine, delivered by authorised local Hitachi dealer Moviter, will support Gabriel Couto’s operations at the demanding 250,000m² site.

The first phase of the project involves excavating and earthmoving to prepare the area. For phase two Gabriel Couto will move to the airside where the taxiway will be extended and connected to the runway, and other facilities completed. The ZX300LCN-6 is being used for general earthmoving and levelling activities.

Selecting the best machines The project is scheduled for completion in March 2020 and the arrival of the ZX300LCN-6 brings the number of Hitachi machines in Gabriel Couto’s fleet to 20. Director Tiago Couto has long been convinced of their reliability: “We purchased our first Hitachi machine (a 30-tonne excavator) 28 years ago and it worked productively for over 20 years.

John Deere Launches Updated G-Series Swing Machines

A

direct result of customer feedback, John Deere has updated its G-Series Swing Machines to improve operator experience.

From changes to machine design to new features to improve serviceability, the updated Swing Machines, including eight powerful models, 2154G, 2156G, 2654G, 2656G, 3154G, 3156G, 3754G and 3756G, offer increased productivity and uptime, providing a reliable solution for the toughest of jobs.

“After successfully launching the G-Series Swing Machines in 2016, we wanted to continue to perfect the machines based on customer experience in the field,” said Jarvis De Groot, product marketing manager, John Deere Construction & Forestry. “The new features, which will be available on the 2019 models and on, will streamline serviceability and improve the machine design, while still retaining the power and productivity of the original models.”

The 2019 machines feature several improvements to the machine design. A larger travel device improves tractive effort on the 2654G and 2656G machines, as well as select 2154G and 2156G models. The new LH side door features an easy-to-remove screen, allowing for the removal of collected debris. A shovel and axe mounting provision on all machines provides a secure and easily accessible storage location.

The cabs have been changed, adding a USB port for device charging and relocating the auxiliary and USB ports to behind the seat. The side-entry cab features a larger gas strut for the door and new handrail, improving entry and exit. Additionally, satellite radio is no longer required with the Convenience Deluxe package on the side-entry and rear-entry cabs.

Serviceability has also been improved on the G-Series Swing Machines. A pre-cleaner for engine air intake of the Final Tier 4 engines improves air filter life, while fuel shut-off valves eliminate fuel leakage and spillage during fuel filter changes. A new hinged AC condenser improves access, making it easier to clean out debris trapped between the radiator and AC condenser. The G-Series machines also feature remote grease lines for the boom cylinder base pins, improving ground-level serviceability. An optional hydraulic oil level alarm provides an audible and visible alarm that the hydraulic oil level is extremely low and requires immediate machine shut down.

In addition to the new changes, the G-Series machines still incorporate the most popular features from the original models, including improved cabs, better machine performance and a more durable design. The John Deere swing machines come standard with JDLink™ telematics five years in base, offering owners and operators remote diagnostics and streamlined connectivity.

Terex to Sell Demag® Mobile Crane Business

erex Corporation announced that it has agreed to sell its Demag® Mobile Cranes business to Tadano Ltd. for an enterprise value of approximately $215 million. The Demag® Mobile Cranes business manufactures and sells all terrain cranes and large crawler cranes. Included in the transaction are the manufacturing facilities in Zweibrucken, Germany and multiple sales and service locations. The sale, which is subject to government regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, is targeted to close in mid-2019.

“The Demag® Mobile Cranes business has been part of our Company for almost two decades and produces world class products,” said John L. Garrison, Terex Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “The dedicated Demag® Mobile Cranes team members have made significant contributions to Terex and to the crane industry. The sale is based on strong industrial logic, as the Demag® Mobile Cranes business will become part of a global crane company with complementary products and capabilities. We are pleased to have entered into this agreement with Tadano, a strategic buyer who values the Demag® Mobile Cranes brand, technology, distribution network and team members.”

Commenting on the rationale of the deal, Koichi Tadano, Tadano Ltd. These changes will simplify our Oklahoma City operation, which will continue to produce telehandlers and re-manufactured units for our Aerial Work Platforms segment and various products for our Materials Processing segment.”

Mr. Garrison continued, “Although we are exiting the OKC-based mobile cranes products, we will continue to sell parts, and offer service and support to our customers.”

Terex will continue to manufacture Terex Utilities products at its Watertown, South Dakota facilities. Terex will also continue to manufacture Terex® Rough Terrain Cranes for the global market in Crespellano, Italy, Terex® tower cranes in Fontanafredda, Italy, and Terex® pick and carry cranes in Brisbane, Australia.

ohn, Maurice and Douglass Steiger, the father and sons who built the first Steiger articulated 4wd tractor more than 60 years ago, have been inducted into the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ Hall of Fame, the North American organisation’s acknowledgement of contributions made to the development of productive agriculture through engineering advancement. The recognition comes as celebrations begin to mark 50 years since manufacturing of Steiger tractors began in Fargo, North Dakota, USA, the city where production remains today. The business became part of Case IH in 1986, and since 1996 Quadtrac tracked articulated variants

have been produced in Fargo alongside Steiger wheeled models.

The AEM Hall of Fame was founded in 2008, since when it has honoured pioneering individuals who have invented, managed, built and led the off-road equipment industry.

Inductees to the Hall of Fame must exemplify five guiding principles: innovation, industry contributions, leadership, corporate citizenship/ social responsibility and sustainability.

Designed to boost agricultural productivity The first Steiger tractor was built during the winter of 1957-58, when John Steiger and sons Maurice and Douglass sought to improve the timeliness of operations by raising workrates when performing key field tasks on their farm in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. While most high-end tractors of the time were two-wheel drive and offered less than 100hp, the Steiger family decided to create a machine offering more than double that output, incorporating more robust components, four-wheel drive with equal-sized wheels and articulated steering for good manoeuvrability. Nicknamed ‘Barney’, the first Steiger tractor, painted a distinctive lime-green, had a power output of 238hp.

When neighbouring farmers began to notice the machine at work, they asked the Steiger family to build them something similar, and after designing an additional 118hp model a full series of 150-300hp Steiger tractors was put into production in converted farm buildings. Outside investment in the business saw manufacturing move in 1969 to full factory premises in Fargo, North Dakota, where the first of the famous ‘cat-named’ models, the Wildcat, began production. This facility was soon outgrown, and in 1975 work was completed on a new factory, also in Fargo, where Steiger production remains.

o upgrade lifting capacity at its multipurpose terminal at Westdorpe, near Terneuzen, The Netherlands, Mammoet has installed one of its highly efficient heavy-lift MTC 15 cranes. With a capacity of 600 tons at 25 meters, no other heavy-lifting device on the market combines the MTC 15’s features, lifting power and efficiency.

The quay-side mobile terminal crane has been engineered and built by Mammoet to lift 600 tons at 25 meters, while reducing project time and costs.

With a load moment capacity equal to a large 1,200 metric ton crawler crane or a large floating sheerleg, the crane enables loads up to 600 tons to be lifted to and from the quay from non-geared cargo vessels in water up to 12.5 meters deep. Took the Spotlight in Xiong’an Railway Station Project With the smooth completion of the first pile foundation, the main works at Xiong’an Railway Station Project, the largest in Asia, sprinted officially into the construction phase after full preparations. The Station will mainly serve passengers plying between Xiong’an New Area and Beijing, Capital City of China, a 30 minutes’ journey away to the north.

Consisting of 155 simply-supported beams underlying the main structure and 26 turnout beams for bridge approaches, the elevated railway station will be on a national trunk line of strategic significance and part of the extensive railway network in China. Due to its complex construction techniques, a tight construction schedule, high difficulty in project organization and the soft soil strata unique to the project region, XCMG was specially tapped for the daunting construction task.

Based on the geologic settings on the site and the technical specifications of foundation piles (1-1.2 m in diameter and 30-35 m in burial depth), XCMG decided to deploy its light-duty rotary drilling rigs, mainly XR150 and XR180 models. Surely, living up to expectations on them, these small devices performed very well, attaining a high drilling efficiency of 30 minutes per pile, and thus, won high recognition from both the project owner and their users.

The new truck features a refined cab that positions the operator seat on the left side, along with a new console with an integrated hoist and shift lever.

The new 777G provides customers a choice of bodies. The new truck features automatic control of traction, dumping, and retarding, as well as the Caterpillar Stability Assist system.

Caterpillar technology that keeps operators safe, comfortable and productive also will be on display at bauma Munich with the D8T dozer remote-control station. With multiple levels of remote control and even semi-autonomous operation, Cat Command for dozing is available in two configurations-an over-the-shoulder remotecontrol console or the remote-operator station.

Operators have full control of the dozer without being exposed to job-site hazards.

Customers involved in under-ground mining will find the new R1700 loader of interest. The new underground loader handles payloads of 15 tonnes, 20 percent more than its predecessor.

Paving, Compaction & Milling The AP555F is a mid-sized, rubber track paver that excels on highways, streets and other urban work sites. The AP555F features advanced, easy-to-use control technology and quick-heating SE50 VT electric screeds that boost productivity of the machine and crew. It features the exclusive Cat Mobil-Trac™ rubber track undercarriage, which delivers high travel speed, excellent flotation, superior traction, and superb mobility. The machine is powered with a quiet and efficient Cat C4.4 ACERT™ engine that provides 142 horsepower (106 kW).

A standard Eco-Mode setting, when used with automatic engine-speed control, efficiently manages engine speed for optimum fuel economy and reduced sound levels.

The machine used on a wide range of projects, the vibratory soil compactor, is represented

at bauma Munich by Cat models CS12 GC, CS44B, and CS66B. All three models can be equipped with Cat Compaction Control, which provides compaction measurement technology and can also provide satellite mapping, which enhances the capabilities of operators, resulting in greater efficiency and more consistent, uniform compaction.

Engines and Generator Sets A range of industrial engines meeting EU Stage V emission standards will be on display in hall A4, stand 336, including the C2.2, C3.6, and C4.4, as well as the new C13B industrial power unit and the C27. The C7.1 and C9.3B engines will be featured in hall B6.

Tower crane manufacturer and German crane specialist will share booth FS 1103/1 for the third time at the 2019 edition of the world’s largest construction trade show.

F

ollowing the successful experiences of 2013 and 2016, tower crane manufacturer COMANSA and its German dealer BKL Baukran Logistik will join forces again for the upcoming Bauma show, to be held in Munich in April.

BKL and COMANSA will be found at FS.1103/1 at the outdoor area of Messe Muenchen, with a space of almost 800 square metres. The booth is at the same location than in 2016, when they exhibited a spectacular 80-metre high 21LC750 which was the tallest tower crane in Bauma.

The relationship between both companies started in 2011, when BKL purchased a package of six COMANSA flat-top cranes with a maximum load capacity from 8 to 18 tonnes.

New generation of crawler excavators At the beginning of the year, Liebherr-France SAS in Colmar, France, started the production of the latest generation of earthmoving crawler excavators: generation 8. Generation 8 crawler excavators stand out thanks to higher performance levels, higher productivity, greater security and more convenience for the operator. The first phase comprises seven new models of between 22 and 45 tonnes.

The R 934 being presented on the Liebherr stand at bauma has an engine that complies with Stage V emission standards and like all the new generation models boasts a host of improvements. Weighing approximately 35 tonnes, the R 934 achieves an engine output of 200 kW / 272 HP and will be available worldwide with an engine to suit the relevant country’s emission standards.

The new MEILLER Eco-Kupplung® (eco clutch) is another technical innovation presented at bauma. Located between the engine-driven PTO and hydraulic pump, it serves as a system which facilitates flexible activation.

In contrast to the previous solution, use of the eco clutch means the pump no longer runs when it is not required, being now only activated when necessary. This means that the 2-4 kW of power consumed by conventional engine-driven pumps (regardless of pump operation) can be saved. PM OIL & STEEL at bauma 2019 The Group presents many innovations and celebrates 60 years of PM

M Oil & Steel S.p.A. participates in the bauma 2019, the world’s most important exhibition for construction machinery, held in Munich from 8 to 14 April. The Group, the leading Italian manufacturer of hydraulic truck cranes (PM), specialized in the production of aerial platforms (Oil & Steel) and world leader in industrial pick&carry and carry deck (Valla), presents the news of its wide range in two stands, one at inside (Area B4 n.339) and one outside (Area FS No. 1306/2), on a total surface of over 500 square meters.

Starting from PM, which continues the completion of the light crane range with the introduction of new models from 8 to 12 tons/ meter, it expands the Heavy range with the debut of the PM 50.5 crane destined for the European and extra-EC market, and renews and invests even more decisively in technology, implementing two new radio control systems, G2B - Frame with display 128x64 pixel (display white and black backlight), BMS – HL Color with display 2,8” (color display). A third model, the G2B – Full HD with display 4,3” (color display) it will instead be available soon.

But one of the strengths of PM is also the great attention paid to its customers to whom it offers an even more flexible and customizable level of service, in addition to the high quality assistance and maintenance guaranteed by a global network of professionals and by the use of original spare parts.

‫حصلت شركة ماكديرموت انترناشيونال على عقد كبير من شركة دايليم العربية السعودية المحدودة لهندسة ومشتريات وبناء (‪ )EPC‬صهاريج التخزين ‪CB & I‬‬ ‫لمصنع معادن األمونيا في رأس الخير بالمملكة العربية السعودية‪ .‬ويشمل العقد الثابت هندسة‪ ،‬وشراء‪ ،‬وتصنيع أربع خزانات لألمونيا وتسعة خزانات تخزين & ‪CB‬‬ ‫‪ .I‬سيتم تنفيذ المشروع في الغالب على يد قدرات ومرافق ماكديرموت المحلية بالمملكة العربية السعودية‪.‬‬

‫مجمع الشموخ للتعدين هو مجمع متكامل للتعدين خصصت فيه «سيزاد» مساحة قدرها ‪ 250.000‬متر مربع بتكلفة استثمارية تبلغ ‪ 95‬مليون لاير عماني‪ .‬ستقوم‬ ‫شركة الشموخ للتعدين بتنفيذ المشروع على عدة مراحل‪ ،‬مع إنشاء مصنع الكلنكر ومحطة إلنتاج الجير في المرحلة األولى‪ .‬في المرحلة الثانية‪ ،‬ستقوم الشركة ببناء‬ ‫مصنع للطالء‪ ،‬ومصنع زجاج‪ ،‬ومصنع لتصنيع حاويات النفايات‪ ،‬ومصنع لأللومنيوم‪ ،‬وفي المرحلة الثالثة‪ ،‬ستقوم الشركة بإنشاء مصنع لألسمدة‪.‬‬ ‫وقد بدأت الشركة في إجراء اختبارات التربة إواعداد مخطط المجمع والتنسيق مع المصانع على المواصفات الفنية التي تم أخذها في االعتبار في إعداد الخطوط‬ ‫العريضة لمجمع التعدين‪ .‬وستشمل المرحلة األولى مصنعاً إلنتاج الكلنكر وآخر إلنتاج هيدروكسيد الكالسيوم‪ ،‬في حين ستشمل المراحل األخيرة مصنع إلنتاج الجير‪،‬‬ ‫ومصانع لألصباغ والزجاج واأللمنيوم‪ ،‬وحاويات النفايات‪ ،‬واألسمدة‪ ،‬والدواجن‪.‬‬

‫المشروع هو عبارة عن بناء محطة طاقة شمسية تعمل بالطاقة الشمسية بقدرة ‪ 52‬ميجاوات (‪ ،)MW‬أطلق عليها إيه إم سوالر في منطقة الماضونة شرق عمان‪.‬‬ ‫إن المحطة هي عبارة عن مشروع مشترك بين الواليات المتحدة لخدمات الطاقة التطبيقية ‪ -‬األردن‪ ،‬والمجموعة اليابانية ميتسوي ونبراس باور‪ ،‬على أساس البناء‬ ‫والتشغيل واإلدارة‪ .‬ويتوقع مسؤولو «إيه إم سوالر» أن يتم ربط المشروع بشبكة شركة الكهرباء الوطنية خالل عام ‪ ،2019‬مع توقعات بتوليد ‪ 77‬جيجاوات من‬ ‫بناء على النظرة المستقبلية التي تأخذ في االعتبار أمن‬ ‫الكهرباء سنوياً‪ .‬تقوم األردن باالستثمار في العديد من مشاريع الطاقة المتجددة وفقًا إلستراتيجية الطاقة‪ً ،‬‬ ‫الطاقة واالستقالل والموارد المحلية‪ ،‬فضالً عن تكاليف اإلنتاج المنخفضة‪.‬‬ ‫‪106 PlantAndEquipment.com | March 2019‬‬

‫ستقوم شركة الجرافات البحرية الوطنية ببناء ‪ 10‬جزر صناعية جديدة وجسران‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى توسيع جزيرة موجودة ‪ -‬الغاف‪.‬‬ ‫ومن المتوقع أن يستغرق مشروع التطوير العظيم هذا ‪ 38‬شه اًر‪ ،‬وسوف يوفر البنية التحتية الالزمة لمواصلة تطوير وحفر‬ ‫إوانتاج الغاز من حقول الغاز الحامض في منطقة امتياز غشا‪ .‬من المتوقع أن يوظف المشروع‪ ،‬في ذروة البناء‪ ،‬أكثر من‬ ‫‪ 3500‬شخص‪.‬‬ ‫وقد قام بتوقيع منح المشروع كل من عبد المنعم الكندي‪ ،‬المدير التنفيذي ألدنوك‪ ،‬وياسر زغلول‪ ،‬الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة‬ ‫‪ ، NMDC‬وشهده الدكتور سلطان أحمد الجابر‪ ،‬وزير الدولة والمدير التنفيذي لمجموعة أدنوك‪ ،‬ومحمد ثاني مرشد الرميثي‪،‬‬ ‫رئيس مجلس إدارة ‪.NMDC‬‬ ‫وتعليقًا على آخر األخبار‪ ،‬قال الدكتور سلطان الجابر‪ :‬كواحد من أكبر مشاريع الغاز الحمضي في العالم‪ ،‬سوف يساهم‬ ‫ذاتيا من الغاز واالنتقال إلى مصدر محتمل‬ ‫المشروع بشكل كبير في هدف دولة اإلمارات العربية المتحدة في أن تصبح مكتفية ً‬ ‫للغاز الصافي‪ .‬ويتكون امتياز غشا من حقول غاز حائل وغشا ودالما ونصر ومبارز البحرية‪.‬‬

‫سيتم تنفيذ المشروع تحت إشراف هيئة تطوير منطقة مكة المكرمة‪ .‬ويشمل التنفيذ تركيب ‪ 500‬محطة للحافالت وأماكن مبيت‬ ‫للحافالت‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى لوحات إرشادية تحدد شبكة الحافالت األوسع‪ .‬وستمتد محطات الحافالت في معظم أحياء ومرافق‬ ‫مكة المكرمة‪ ،‬بما في ذلك المجمعات التجارية والمدارس والمستشفيات‪ ،‬وسوف تضم كل من التصميم اإلسالمي والحديث‪.‬‬ ‫وتشمل محطات التوقف مناطق االنتظار‪ ،‬وشاشات مزودة بأوقات الحافالت‪ ،‬وكاميرات مراقبة وآالت بيع التذاكر‪.‬‬ ‫يتضمن المشروع أربعة محطات رئيسية حول المسجد الحرام والتي ستتضمن منصات الصعود والنزول‪ .‬كما يتضمن المشروع‬ ‫إنشاء ‪ 35‬ألف متر مربع من أرصفة األسفلت وسبع جسور للمشاة‪ ،‬والتي ستشمل مصاعد وساللم للمعاقين‪ .‬باإلضافة إلى‬ ‫ذلك‪ ،‬سيتم ربط مشروع النقل الجديد بنظام عالي التقنية يبسط حركة المرور‪.‬‬
