We are excited to present the Plano Symphony Orchestra’s 43rd Anniversary Gala, A Star-Spangled Celebration: 250th Anniversary of the United States of America. This year, we are honored to serve as your Gala Co-Chairs as we celebrate our nation and share a deep belief in the power of music to enrich our community and enhance every aspect of life.
The music that has shaped our nation tells a story of resilience and unity—a story that continues to resonate in our community and foster a shared appreciation for the melodies that bring us together. Whether we are entertaining thousands during our mainstage season, welcoming over 18,000 students to our School Concerts, introducing young children to the symphony at the Family Concert Series, performing for our largest audience at the Plano Balloon Festival, bringing comfort through Healing Notes for seniors and youth in juvenile detention, or providing year-long private lessons to young students through our Scholarship Program, the Plano Symphony Orchestra remains a cultural cornerstone in our arts community. This work reflects our commitment to opening doors through music for everyone.
The Plano Symphony Orchestra remains a cultural cornerstone in our arts community.
We are truly humbled by everyone who has stepped up this year to support us. As the PSO’s largest fundraising event, the Gala directly supports our artistic, education, and community engagement programs. Your generosity ensures that we can continue sharing engaging musical experiences across North Texas and further our mission to inspire, educate, entertain, and involve everyone in the enjoyment of great music. We are deeply grateful for your dedication and service.
Tonight, we celebrate 43 years of music, education, and our shared mission. As we honor our country’s 250th anniversary, we come together to celebrate the future that lies ahead. We hope you enjoy A Star-Spangled Celebration and the meaningful evening we have in store.

Mission
It is the mission of our orchestra to inspire, educate, entertain and involve the children, youth and adults of our community in the enjoyment of great music.
Vision
We believe in the transformative power of music to change lives. We will grow and nurture the audience of today and tomorrow through exciting, inclusive, innovative, and impactful music in a welcoming and engaging way. We seek to serve our community through programming and music education that reflects our diverse North Texas region.
Ranked the third-largest professional orchestra in the region, the Plano Symphony Orchestra (PSO) has consistently engaged world-class talent since 1983, creating unforgettable musical and artistic experiences for generations of North Texans.
The PSO operates year-round with a mainstage season of 8 concerts, a Family Concert Series, outdoor concerts at the Plano Balloon Festival and Kaleidoscope Park, the Up Close Chamber Series, 14 School Concerts, the Collin County Young Artist Competition, serving our most vulnerable communities through Healing Notes that serve the PSO Summer Programs, private lesson scholarships, and other education programs that serve more than 40,000 youth through dynamic cultural and musical experiences each year.

Mirna Lynch, a native New Yorker, serves the Plano Symphony Orchestra as a Community Liaison, committee chair and member, and Virtuoso Society member. Raised in the rich cultural environment of New York City, she is passionate about ensuring that communities have meaningful access to the arts.
Mirna has held numerous volunteer and leadership roles, including with the Catholic Daughters of America in New York City—where she chaired the Debutante Ball for two consecutive years—and with Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.
Her professional background spans clothing design, marketing, and sales. She founded and operated a successful Personal Lines Insurance Agency for twenty-two years and served in national leadership roles with several Allstate agent associations, including as National President and Lobbyist for the Coalition of Exclusive Agents Association.
She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, with a degree in Design and Marketing. Mirna and her late husband Bob share a blended family of eight children and nineteen grandchildren. She enjoys theater, skiing, boating, RVing, travel, and the beaches of the Caribbean.

Darlene Morford became a Plano Symphony Orchestra subscriber in 2003 and soon joined the PSO Guild, where she served on the Guild Board, chaired the Education Committee, acted as Secretary, hosted the Hospitality Suite for the Young Artist Competition, and ultimately served as Guild President.
She later joined the PSO Board of Directors, co-chairing both the PSO Gala and the Board Education Committee. In these roles, she helped oversee key education initiatives, including the School Concerts, the PSO Music Scholarship Program, the PSO Summer Programs, and additional community outreach efforts. Darlene is also active with the Texas Association of Symphony Orchestras, where she has held several leadership positions, including serving as President.
Following her retirement from AT&T, Darlene became involved with Newcomer Friends of Greater Plano, chairing the organization’s annual Holiday Auction—its primary fundraiser—and serving as First Vice President, overseeing scholarships for nursing students at Collin College. Darlene resides in Plano and enjoys traveling, exploring world cultures and history, and spending time with family and friends.
