YOUR PARTNER FOR A HEALTHY COMMUNITY 2022

Our Mission

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas provides trusted, evidence-based sexual healthcare and education while advocating for reproductive justice, care without judgment, and access to healthcare for all.

Our Vision

A world in which everyone can access quality healthcare and information to live their lives fully, without judgment.

Our Commitment to Diversity

Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) are fundamental to who we are and what we do at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas. We are an organization that values the communities and individuals we serve. Together with our supporters, partners, and team members, we foster a culture and engage in practices that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. We work to eliminate disparities to build more equitable systems that improve access and health outcomes for all. We pledge to engage in meaningful and transformative action that improves the lives of the people of Texas and increases equity and justice for all.

Dear friend of Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas: gee from their trusted provider, Planned Parenthood. Texas’ abortion ban and other reproductive health barriers disproportionately impact minors, communities of color, rural, low-income, LGBTQIA+ and undocumented Texans. Over the past 10 years, Texas statewide elected officials have systematically blocked patients who rely on public health programs from getting care from Planned Parenthood. A recent study ranked Texas 50th in access to high-quality prenatal and maternal care, and Texas‘ maternal mortality rates highlight devastating maternal health outcomes, especially for Black women. Texas has the highest rate of uninsured residents in the U.S. yet failed to expand Medicaid coverage to help close the gap for the state’s most vulnerable population.

For more than 88 years, Planned Parenthood has been a trusted resource for sexual and reproductive healthcare and education in communities across Texas. Texans count on our advocacy to expand access to healthcare until our shared vision is a reality — a world where everyone can access quality healthcare and information to live their lives fully, without judgement.

When Texas enacted the most extreme abortion ban in the U.S. in September 2021 followed by the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022, we knew it was more important than ever that patients could count on us for healthcare, education and advocacy.

This makes our mission more important than ever. Last year, we provided more than 100,000 essential healthcare appointments through telemedicine and our health centers in Austin, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Fort Worth, Lubbock, Paris, Plano, Waco, Tyler and surrounding communities. We reached more than 20,000 youth and parents with essential sex education. We expanded access to preventive healthcare, including birth control, through expanded weekend and evening health center hours of operation. Our newly renovated health centers in Addison, Austin, Dallas, Denton, and Mesquite highlight the quality of care we provide to our patients.

With your support, we continue working to meet the needs of Texans who count on us. Thank you for standing with us.
