CONCERTETIQUETTE CONCERTETIQUETTE

For our performers, please keep the following in mind to ensure a professional and respectful experience for everyone:

Dress appropriately for the performance

Refrain from waving or distracting others while on stage.

Stay focused and quiet during the performance.

Keep hands and feet to yourself to maintain a positive environment

By following these guidelines, you show respect for other groups performing and create an atmosphere where everyone’s hard work and talents can be celebrated!

For our audience members, we ask that you help maintain a calm and respectful environment by:

Sitting quietly while waiting for the concert to begin. While talking is fine before the performance starts, please be mindful not to speak during the concert, as even quiet conversations can be distracting

Applauding after each full piece is performed. Some pieces have multiple movements, so watch for the conductor’s signal—usually, when their arms come down, the piece has ended

Refraining from yelling, screaming, or calling out performers’ names.

If you need to leave or return, please wait until the end of a piece to do so, in order to minimize distractions

Turning off or silencing all electronic devices.

Taking photos with care—flash photography can be distracting, so please be mindful.

Removing hats during the performance.

Keeping small children with you, and if they are unable to stay quietly seated, we kindly ask that you bring them to the foyer
